Oh, how awful for you & your DD.
Hope she has a speedy recovery.

Rhubarb · 26/06/2006 22:05

This is every parent's worst nightmare isn't it? I really really hope she's ok, soon, I know I would go nuts if it were my daughter! Keep strong and I'm praying that she's home with you soon!

YeahBut · 26/06/2006 22:11

You poor things. Really hope she feels better soon. Try to get some rest - your dd will feel much more reassured if you seem to be fine (even if you are really feeling like a wreck.) You did a brilliant job for your dd.

singersgirl · 26/06/2006 22:13

What a horrible experience and glad to hear it sounds as if your DD is improving.

Sending love to you and your dd++

Wow, it was like fate that you were off and noticed the spots and acted so quickly!!
Bloody stupid receptionist and good on you for sticking to your guns.

Heartmum2Jamie · 26/06/2006 23:27

Thinking of you and your precious little one. I hope that she is soon on the mend and back to chasing the cats. HUGs x

Ledodgyherring · 26/06/2006 23:28

Thinking of you both. I hope she gets better soon. xxx

expatinscotland · 27/06/2006 09:40

Nul,
I'm shamelessly bumping to this to bring on more healing vibes for your DD from the morning crowd!

Hoping she is doing a bit better today.

amyjade · 27/06/2006 11:00

Thinking of you.
Your Dd is one of the lucky ones, hope she makes a speady recovery. xx

Unfortunatly Dd1 never had a rash as she contracted the more deadly Pneumococcal strain so it was much harder to diagnose. Sadly the disease wasn't spotted untill it was too late.
She was also seen by 5 doctors including a peadiatric consultant of 35 years and it still took 3 days to diagnose her !! so i know how angry you must be at that stupid receptionist!

TinyGang · 27/06/2006 11:16

Just seen this - how awful for you all Sending lots of good wishes really hope and pray your little dd gets through this quickly.

CountessDracula · 27/06/2006 11:31

oh no how frightening

Wishing her a very speedy recovery

Caligula · 27/06/2006 11:54

Nulnulcat I hope she's OK soon, you must be so relieved that it was caught early.

Please, please complain about that receptionist. Not because you're angry with her, or even because she deserves it, but because next time, someone else's child might die because of her. Please do complain, you will be doing every other parent and child in that surgery an enormous public service.

puff · 27/06/2006 11:56

Agree with Caligula re the complain, when you have the time and energy of course.

nulnulcat · 27/06/2006 19:21

thanks again for all the messages of support, dd is sleeping so just popped home for something to eat going back in an hour or so, she has a chest infection as well now but she is a tough little thing and is fighting it the rash looks like it is fading a bit so fingers crossed the meningitus is getting better

lanismum · 27/06/2006 19:26

anniebear · 27/06/2006 19:57

Thinking of you all

I know exactly what you are going through

theinvisiblegirl · 27/06/2006 20:36

I hope she's up and around again soon. Thinking of you x

mrsnoah · 27/06/2006 21:21

wishing you and your dd lots of hugs. Thinking of you.x

foxinsocks · 27/06/2006 21:53

well done nulnulcat for ignoring the receptionist - as Mercy says, it does make me and to think how many other people would have just taken her advice

I hope she continues to improve and perhaps now they will finally realise you are not just some paranoid mum (I remember the fight you had with the diabetes). Take care of yourself so that you can look after dd and stay strong xxx

nulnulcat · 01/07/2006 19:30

thanks for all the lovely messages of support sorry if i not been around this is the first chance i have had to have a break, not a good week she caught a chest infection on top of everything else which went to pneumonia - she is prone to chest infections anyway

its been a worrying few days but she is a little fighter and is on the way up again, we are hoping nothing else is going to hit her she has been through so much already!

she is having a scan tomorrow to find out why she is passing blood am praying its something simple like another allergy,

anyway guys i am off for a much needed soak in the bath a very large glass of wine and a few hours sleep in my own bath dp is on night duty seeing as its the weekend he even missed the football to do it bless him and he only her stepdad!

once again thank you so much for all the messages xxx
