Hello all! New thread as we have almost filled the last one. Help yourself to chocolate chip muffins from the trolley! :)

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 16/08/2013 18:30

enjoy Downton malt - I'd love to sit and watch the whole lot too Grin
And happy hols dear topsy !!

topsyturner · 16/08/2013 20:13

Right .
Pig/dog in kennels .
Packing (mostly) done .
Floors hoovered and washed .
Leaky radiator (sigh) fixed .
Dinner eaten .

Can I open the wine now ???

Gigondas · 16/08/2013 20:20

Yes and have one for me. Have brownies ready for when masterchef on . There are some right saddos on mastermind aren't there?

Shootingatpigeons · 16/08/2013 20:33

Go for it Topsy the holiday has already started Grin . (Bit of a joke with DH as I am glass half full person and he is glass half empty, so he would already be saying the holiday is almost over / we've had the best of the day.)

Also I need Wine as gigs was right and Little pigeon has already laid into the Prosecco with big pigeon, whose beak has seriously been put out of joint as she thinks she should have a monopoly on feeling clever. They are currently debating who did the hardest subjects, will knock their heads together in a moment Angry Especially as at this rate there won't be enough for my date with Monty in Gardener's World

MAS Lovely pictures of your day Envy

gigs great to hear from you, they are certainly putting lots on your plate but just as long as you can tunnel out bionically eventually, I'll be waiting in the shrubbery with Reubens supplies.

malt I first watched Downton for the episode that was generally agreed to be where it jumped the shark especially in relation to the rapidly fatal consequences of swooning with a touch of the flu. It used to clash with Spooks and my nearly five decade crush on Peter Firth so didn't start to watch it until that finished. I therefore do not want to watch the early episodes as it might clash with my perception that it is in fact a comedy.....

Gigondas · 16/08/2013 20:43

Grin At the pigeons. I am Envy as mrgig is using new wine glasses I bought me him. They are nice ones like water glasses so good size and don't fall over.

Am trying to stay chilled and positive and minimise wobbly moments.

Malt- downton sounds great viewing. I haven't seen last series yet.

topsyturner · 16/08/2013 21:29

Just poured the last glass out of the bottle .
Where the heck did that go ???

Gigs you've made it thus far , another piddling op will not phase you !
I have faith x

All we have left to do is load the car and leave in the morning .
We sooooooo need this holiday !

topsyturner · 16/08/2013 21:30

Oh and I'd make a great Lady for Downton , either that or a really filthy under stairs maid Grin

BetsyBoop · 16/08/2013 21:31

great to hear from you gigs sounds like they are planning to make you superbionicrobogigs, ready to take on the world :)

topsy Wine time definitely, enjoy your hols :)

sounds like there are lots of fellow swooners here, that's good, makes me feel like less of a weirdo wimp :)

KurriKurri · 16/08/2013 21:33

Ooh Downton - first series is good, - subsequent series, main interest is trying to predict what particular shade of brown Edith's dress will be. Grin

Stay chilled Gig Smile - are you likely to go home and then come back for second op? - or stay in until after it's done? Hope you have a comfortable night.

Have a lovely holiday topsy Smile

DH did completely forget our anniversary (second year running) apparently he 'remembered it about a month ago then forgot it again' Hmm) I thought I was pretty blase about it, but suddenly found myself fighting back tears and thinking 'he really doesn't give a damn' Sad
Never mind, - I'll cheer up tomorrow, am off to do some crochet and then read my book.

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/08/2013 21:42

we love you kk but am sad that he has made you cry Sad - sending a huge hug to Norfolk

malteserzz · 16/08/2013 21:43

Kurri that is a bit crap of him especially 2nd year running Hmm am sure he loves you dearly how could he not, maybe just doesnt see the day itself as being important. Hope he makes it up to you

Enjoying downton will be easier to watch when pesky kids back at school and don't keep interrupting me Grin
Walked to the shop with dd tonight for chocolate to watch big brother with, going to try and leave the house every day ! Still feel fine

Topsy we will miss you this week have a lovely relaxing break Smile

Gigondas · 16/08/2013 22:08

Kurri - gentle bionic hugs for upsetting you. Lots of love from me too.

Topsy- has hnd been round stealing wine again? Have a fab holiday.

Gigondas · 16/08/2013 22:10

Misread your post as leaving bb house malt and thought I really had missed some news this week Grin.

Bit of montalbano while drugs kick in- hoping everyone has a good night.

BetsyBoop · 16/08/2013 22:46

Aw Kurri that's a bit crap :( Sorry you are upset

Some Men just don't "get" the importance in the same way as most women do. My DH is like that too, love him dearly as I do, he's hopeless at stuff like that. Over the years I've learned not to let it upset me, he more than makes up for it in other ways. He remembers our anniversary is in March (as he knows it's just after his birthday which is at the end of Feb), but he never has a clue as to what day or how many years, he always has to ask... For years he could never remember if my birthday was the 7th or the 9th of the month (though could at least remember the month) - until conveniently for him I arranged for DS to be born on the 9th 10 days overdue grr, so that has enabled him to remember now, as he knows DS's birthday is after mine Grin

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 16/08/2013 22:53

kurri grr at DH, happy anniversary and congratulations to you for not having buried him under the patio yet! Grin massive hugs to you, you're fabulous and I'm sure he adores you, he'd be silly not to. Perhaps you should get him a diary for Christmas and write your anniversary in it in massive red letters! Is old lady dog feeling a little better today?

gigs glad you got to see big gig today :) bummer about the second op though. I hope you're enjoying montalbano.

shooting Grin at the pigeon fight! I hope things have calmed down and you've got some Wine

malt brilliant that you're still feeling fine, fingers crossed it continues throughout! :) I must be sad too as I do like Downton Grin although I think the writing/plot is fairly poor at gems, especially in second series, still enjoyed it though!

topsy have a fantastic holiday :)

betsy you're definitely not a wimp!

I've got an assessment next week for any help I might need at uni. So we have to go through the absolute worst case scenario, fun Hmm but it'll be reassuring to have that in place before I go back, just in case :)

I saw my ex yesterday, it was lovely to see him and I managed not to cry or to throw myself at him!

I hope everyone sleeps well tonight x

OP posts:
malteserzz · 16/08/2013 23:06

Ruby well done for seeing the ex it must have been hard
Great that you're moving on and going back to uni and they sound supportive which is great

Night all bet I'll be back around 4am if anyone's awake !

topsyturner · 16/08/2013 23:09

Oh kk that's shitty !
You are worth so much more than that xxx

I am now one step past slightly merry .
Think I need some drunk food to soak it up before bed or I shall be useless tomorrow !

I shall miss you all muchly ...

topsyturner · 16/08/2013 23:11

And Ruby well done for not smashing your ex round the back of the head with an iron throwing yourself at ex boyf .
You are woman , I hear you ROAR !

KurriKurri · 16/08/2013 23:47

Awww - thanks all, - I am OK, will be fine tomorrow, am planning a day of gardening if the weather is reasonable.

Ruby well done for seeing ex. and feeling OK about it.

Old lady dog has been not to bad today, she wants my dressing gown for a nest - its on the back of my chair and she keeps dropping hints by pushing at it with her nose and squeaking at me Grin

jchocchip · 17/08/2013 05:05

Dh has woken me up. And the cat. So I am going to have to get up and let the cat up as soon as it is light :(

Kk looks like you are going to have to remind him next year.

I admit to being hopeless at birthdays. I remember but can't seem to put it all together. My ds is 21 tomorrow and I haven't planned anything other than making a cake so far. Admittedly he is very frustrating at the moment and won't meet up with friends/ do anything positive towards getting a job/ course/ passport/ provisional licence/ find his gcse certificates/ help from doctor.

Ruby well done meeting ex. Topsy enjoy your holiday - will miss you.
Malt hope you are asleep!

malteserzz · 17/08/2013 06:35

I've only just woken up Jchoc so not too bad, had my steroids and will try and go back to sleep
Must be very frustrating with ds,I hope once he figures out what he wants to do he ll find a bit of motivation

topsyturner · 17/08/2013 07:35

Morning All

All packed , showered and dressed .
Just have to shoe horn all our crap into the car , and we're off !

Jane hope the cat gave you a lie in
Malt hope you went back to sleep after taking your tabs .
Gigs did you get a good nights sleep ? (I have visions of baby gigs roaming round hospital , switching off people's breathing machines Grin )
KK did DH survive the night ?

Big hugs and love to everyone .
I have to get a wriggle on now .
Might post a bit when on my road trip
Grin

Gigondas · 17/08/2013 07:46

Morning all - Brew?

Enjoy the holiday -will miss you too topsy.

Ruby- you did well not to knee ex where it hurts cry on ex. An sure having assessment in place will help as nice to know its there even if you don't need it.

The visions of mini gig switching off machines isn't far from truth. Or demonstrating new skills - i was sitting down when she just ran over to me , said "kick" and proceeded to boot me quite hard in the legs. That could go down well with those struggling to walk Wink.

Jchoc- very tricky about ds. Dss has had his phases (having one at moment with dh which is annoying /puzzling dh) and it is hard to know what to do for best. Don't really want to say much on here but pigeons has had her ear bent about things over coffee.

what's everyone doing today? Am going to try to totter out for coffee later when kids arrive so wish me luck to do that.

topsyturner · 17/08/2013 09:15

We're on the road !

Gigs I was in HNDs house last night and her youngest took great delight in shouting "I'm a footballer" and then chasing after her , trying to kick her !
Apparently me laughing was encouraging him .... Grin

malteserzz · 17/08/2013 09:35

On the road already topsy I'm sitting on the sofa in my nightie watching Nadia what's her name cook stuffed vine leaves Grin

Gigs hope you make it out for coffee, lol at mini gigs new skill !

No plans really today, birthday tomorrow being a bit doom and gloom and what if it's my last Hmm but will put brave face on
Hair still shredding well and I need to wash it today, not washed it since last Sunday !
