Hello all! New thread as we have almost filled the last one. Help yourself to chocolate chip muffins from the trolley! :)

OP posts:
EcoRI · 09/08/2013 22:04

There wasn't anything anywhere near trashy enough so I went to bed unsatisfied. Am taping Nikita though (season 3 started today ) Grin.

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/08/2013 22:37

am off to bed in a sec...worked all day more or less, then wine o'clock with parents...
Glad that you have a bit of reassurance eco - yes, waiting is the worst.
Thanks for candle lighting gig and yay for stripy top.

trice · 09/08/2013 23:26

Sorry, I haven't read the thread today. Too busy packing.

I am off to Italy at 4am tomorrow and won't have Internet so I shall see you in two weeks. You are all under strict instructions to not have any drama while I am away apart from what to choose from the cake trolley. Good luck all.

malteserzz · 10/08/2013 08:02

Hope trice is on her way and has a brilliant time Smile
I'm going shopping today, dd needs a few bits for school and were getting ds his 1st phone, he's 10 and been out and about with friends this summer so think he needs one so we can keep in touch with where he is. I'm bit worried he will put it down to play football and lose it but we ll see !
What's everyone else up to today ?

kitkat1967 · 10/08/2013 09:06

morning. Packing today for us. We're not off until 3pm so I've not organised anything yet.

Had indegestion in the night - first time ever - I've been taking the meds for it but yesterday took them just before going to bed which I suspect is a bit too late.

kitkat1967 · 10/08/2013 09:08

oh and not sure I'll have access to wi-fi when I'm away so will fill you in with the delights of by MRI when I return. (and hair status).

Other then that it will hopefully be a quiet week for me - visit to onc and next chemo will all be in the week after.

malteserzz · 10/08/2013 09:15

Have a lovely time Kitkat where are you off to ? Have you got to nip back for your MRI ?
I've got blood test Monday, onc Tuesday and 2nd chemo on Thursday Hmm

kitkat1967 · 10/08/2013 09:39

Malt - yes - we are only going about 1 hr away but to a beach location. I will pop back into town for my MRI and picc line care - it's only about 1/2 hr drive (same distance as from home but from the other direction).

Hopefully though just being away will be a nice change - to be honest I'm going a bit stir-crazy here. Kids are ridiculously excited considering it's such a local holiday - DD loves swimming so is just pleased there are pools.

kitkat1967 · 10/08/2013 09:40

and good luck with your Chemo - you know your SEs will be limited so nothing for you to worry about this time.

Keep on with the cold cap Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/08/2013 09:43

happy holidays kitkat and trice !
Am going to walk to town with dh, clean a bit and work. Dh is defrosting the freezer so there'll be much kerfuffle and the use of all the tea cloths.
Must get college stuff for T !

Shootingatpigeons · 10/08/2013 10:42

Can't stay long as on tour guide duty again but just hoping gigs and kitkat have good journeys, I have to say this summer has reminded me that with sun the UK can be just as lovely as anywhere else in the world.

Hugs to everyone

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/08/2013 12:57

very nice disguise there !

Gigondas · 10/08/2013 15:02

Can hardly spot it pigeons.

Home now. Not at my most agile as leg hurting (probably directly related to walking etc at flamingo land) so will be directing unpacking from sofa with a Brew.

Hoping the holiday crew have a great time and you make every minute before Thursday count malt as you have no reason to fear it will be worse.

I will be taking advantage of day at home before am banged up on Monday ( have MRI and pre op)

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/08/2013 16:06

gig is going to chokey ! Will pass you a glass of Pimm's at Pimms o'clock...

malteserzz · 10/08/2013 16:07

You know I will always worry ! I did say to dh maybe they put my weight down wrong and didn't give me enough drugs! not that I want too many side effects
Been shopping bought a couple of tops and a skirt, lunch at costa and nipped into sainsburys to get dinner for tonight. Dh out for piss up with friends tonight pleased for him as he's had to put up with me and deserves a breakGrin
Glad you got home ok gigs and are resting
Hope everyone's having a nice weekend Smile

Gigondas · 10/08/2013 17:50

Stop worrying malt- I wasn't especially nauseous (wasn't when I was pg either) so take it as a benefit.

Pimms will be most welcome -am just waiting to get kids to bed so can open Wine in my last few days before chokey.

amberlight · 10/08/2013 18:04

We can smuggle in a cake with a file in it, Gigs.

Malt, my onc would frequently stare at the chemo bags to make sure they weren't just giving me saline. Some of us just don't get a lot of side effects but it still works. Fret ye not. Honest.

Wishing happy hols to those whizzing off

reallyreallyworried · 11/08/2013 04:48

Hi All,

I was pointed in this direction and just wanted to introduce myself. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on Friday. After finding a lump just a few weeks ago. Everything seems to have happened so fast, and all feels a little overwhelming.

I am 38years old, I have no partner or children, but a supportive family and friends.

I'm not sure how I am feeling, as part of me wants to carry on as normal and pretend this isn't happening. But deep down I know that I can't hide from this. I have to deal with it.

Sorry for the complete babble. Just feeling so confused. Anyway just wanted to say Hi.

Xxxx

BetsyBoop · 11/08/2013 06:10

Welcome really but sorry you have had to join us. I was dx at the end of .May and am half way through chemo (doing chemo first). The ladies hear are lovely. :)

There is no "right" way to feel, we all find our own way through, one day at a time and all that... Ask away with any qus, nothing is off limit here.

This bit is definitely the worst bit, lots of tests and the waiting is awful. Once you have a treatment plan you start to feel a bit more in control again. It's just a case of working through it then...!

Waves good morning to everyone else, bit of steroid-insomnia here... But at least our broadband is working today, it was useless snails pace all yesterday, so off to catch upright the thread...

amberlight · 11/08/2013 07:38

.Hi really. Welcome from me too. Sad you're here, but glad you found these lovely ladies.
As Betsy says, the waiting for a plan is the worst bit.
Do you know much about your results yet?
Treatments are fab these days and it's very rare for people to have a bad outcome now. If that helps Though of course the treatments are not fun
Have a cuppa and a comfy seat

malteserzz · 11/08/2013 08:08

Morning all
Welcome really I'm glad you've posted though sorry you have to be here. Ask us anything. There is no right or wrong way to feel. I hope you got some sleep, you posted very early
Betsy how are you doing this cycle? You seem better.
Morning amber hope you're ok

I'm a bit tired dh got in from his night out at 4 which woke me up and hadn't slept very well till then knowing he was going to come in at some stage. Ds has football today and dd is out for a meal with friends, think we are sofa shopping this afternoon as the cat has scratched the old one to pieces!

Gigondas · 11/08/2013 09:10

Welcome to reallyworried- sorry you are here but please feel free to ask, share , vent etc if it helps.

I can never sleep properly if dh is out either malt- not from worrying etc, its just I know he will wake me when he comes in. Hope you have success with new sofa.

Better get up for breakfast - am enjoying my last day before being banged up Wink.

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 11/08/2013 09:55

reallyreallyworried welcome :) I'm glad that you've got supportive people around you, that will really help. Please feel free to say or ask anything here.

amber how are you?

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'm hoping to go shopping and to the library later, I'm looking for a book about running as have decided to take it up in a few weeks Grin but have a dodgy tendon so want to make sure I don't do myself a mischief in my first hobble run!

Lilymaid · 11/08/2013 10:53

reallyreally Hi! Sorry you have to join us here. Some of us are recently DX (I was at the end of June) whereas others have loads more experience. Just take it a day at a time but plan for some treats in the good weeks.

malteserzz · 11/08/2013 11:05

Gigs that's exactly it I'm not worried just know I'll be disturbed by him coming in. How are you feeling about the op if that's not a silly question ? Will the girls be able to come and visit you ?
