If not , I think a call to Dr Lovely is in order .

That is what happens when dh is left unsupervised with the clippers.

HerNextDoorAt21 · 06/07/2013 09:30

Morning all ...... Looks like there has been a lot action on here !

I checked my critical illness cover and DCIS is not covered :(

gigs delighted to read that the horrid pump has gone, I am still giddy that it is gone. Hope you are ok after your long journeys and rads

Hope everyone is going to have a pleasant weekend, the weather is gorgeous here. I get two hours child free respite for a hairdo today ..... Can't decided whether to go completely bright blonde again or stay with the highlighted look ?!?!?

HerNextDoorAt21 · 06/07/2013 09:31

Also .... topsy up at 9.15 on a Saturday ? Your new found sober ness is making you do strange things !

malteserzz · 06/07/2013 10:01

Races are today topsy just checking out the runners! Painted nails just wondering about putting a bit of sparkle on top.

smee · 06/07/2013 10:16

Just gnawing the remains of DH now, Topsy. Lovely day and yes still manic, can you tell.. Grin

Dogs will love being cooler, NotJ. I'd bet they love sea swimming. Smile

Bugger about Insurance HND, though kind of nice not to be on the critical list.

Christmas jumper knitting sounds all wrong with it being so sunny, Trice. How long will it take you to knit? and is it loud with baubles? Grin

Hope you're ok today, Lily. You must be reeling a bit. Did they say where the lesion is? Maybe they can do rads on it too?

DH has gone off in his Lycra. He's cycling all the way to Portsmouth today. clearly insane having a lazy weekend seeing various friends. Wishing everyone similar. Smile

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 06/07/2013 11:07

Good morning all,

Lots of lovely sounding plans for the day :) I hope you all enjoy them!

Especially jealous of sea swimming notJ I can't wait to finish uni so I can move to the seaside! If it's any consolation I spent ages staring at the dog picture trying to work out why "oh dear" so not that noticeable to dog novices :)

malt have fun at the races! Sparkly nails sound lovely :)

lily bugger about the lesion but sounds like it was caught early and doc is on top of things! Yay for super drug :)

trice super yay for new wool stash! And Christmas jumper. I've been trying to find a nice pattern as I'd like to make myself one - where did you get your pattern? I have a lovely box filled with 34 balls of wool ready to make some little hugs when I've finished my angel hug :) so many soft squishy balls of loveliness!

HND shame about insurance but enjoy your hairdo :) hope topsy isn't unsettling you too much with her lack of tipsyness! Grin

smee DH sounds mad adventurous, what glorious weather for it though!

gigs no wonder you're feeling run down, fingers crossed you're feeling better soon :)

Hugs to EMIN and Kurri and Figgy and anyone else we haven't see for a while!

Missed the end of the Tennis have to say I find it quite boring! Will have to google result though.

Had tentative plans for Scrabble game with a friend but feeling rather grim this morning after being up to the loo a fair bit in the night Angry shall just plan a relaxing day in shade I think! :)

Copthallresident · 06/07/2013 11:33

lily that's a bugger, but very early and good you get the latest drug to deal with it. As others have said they are good at controlling it in the bones, indefinitely.

smee Smile at you feeling old watching Glastonbury, wait until DS is older and going off to festivals. Little Copt in particular keeps telling me I am too old to like the bands she likes and as to fancying Alex Turner, AND discussing it with Grandma Shock Blush (that's her blushing with the excruciating embarrassment of it all) However did look at line up before Rolling Stones tonight and though music is nice, Vaccines and Temper Trap not sure I can raise enthusiasm to go early to see them, that is reserved for a bunch of 70 year olds Grin

Lilymaid · 06/07/2013 12:41

Just had my elfin cut and look like Anne Hathaway ... Well probably more like her mother if she had the cut. And I drove my new car for first time so feeling better after yesterday's upset.
Weather gorgeous so let us all have a great weekend!

Copthallresident · 06/07/2013 13:02

gigs Last night at 12.30am Reubens was the most buzzing place in town apart from a few old biddies falling drunk out of the Moon Over the Water, even the all night Burger King was closed. They were baking and fitting out the refettorio, I was just thinking how nice it was that the smell of baking bread covered up the smell of vomit and doners outside the kebab shop when I noticed Reuben himself at the front of the queue of drunks seeking doners Shock

Copthallresident · 06/07/2013 13:03

Lily So we can now call it the Anne Hathaway cut instead of lesbian hair Smile

topsyturner · 06/07/2013 14:41

Wish I looked like Anne Hathaway .

Grin
Copthallresident · 06/07/2013 14:51

Topsy Twinnies!

NedSchneebly · 06/07/2013 15:19

I have had my Anne Hathaway cut trimmed this morning and had some rather nifty blonde highlights put in. My hair grew back a good few shades darker after chemo (no chemo curl, thank goodness!) so decided to lighten up for the summer. Quite pleased with it!

DS discovered the simple pleasures of running through the lawn sprinkler. I remember doing it when I was a kid!

Hope all my lovely tamoxigang friends are ok today x x

NedSchneebly · 06/07/2013 15:29

Survey/ straw poll - got DS school report yesterday - doing really well, almost all 1s for effort, attainment above average. Very lovely comments from his teacher etc. is it ok to reward with the Lego set he's been lusting after on amazon? I'm not sure how i feel about paying for A grades etc, but he's 5. . .

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/07/2013 15:58

LEGO definitely !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
notJenkins · 06/07/2013 15:59

ned we always give ours a treat for good report / school grades. We live in a tokenistic society where hard work + good grades = good job + more money so he will get the connection soon enough !

We promised ds an iPhone if he got into grammar. He did. He is waiting for his iPhone.

Copthallresident · 06/07/2013 16:04

Ned I rewarded good marks for effort, and good reports, come GCSE I did give them each a generous present after the exams, but before the results, just for working hard. I don't approve of the £100 per A thing, or pony if you get into the right school Shock but I see no problem with rewarding hard work. I have the problem that one finds it all a lot easier than the other so it wouldn't be fair anyway.

Copthallresident · 06/07/2013 16:16

nj I promised them phones in senior school as well, but that was because unlike their peers they didn't have one! I also said that they could have their ears pierced if they got into the school they wanted. This was OK with Big Copt as lots of children in her class were from cultures where pierced ears are normal but in Little Copts class I had the ire of the trophy alpha mothers down on my head because it is dead common like me

notJenkins · 06/07/2013 16:17

Yes I agree with copt we would not reward grades as they get older just effort ( and housework Grin )

notJenkins · 06/07/2013 16:20

We had terrible trouble with ds as he refused to sit and do practice papers for the 11+. We were told he should pass but had no idea if he would as he did not cooperate. The bribe was a desperate bid to get him to actually do the test and not draw sad faces all over it as he did with the practice papers.

Now I am a smug ' we did not tutour at all ' parent.

smee · 06/07/2013 17:19

Buy him the lego, Ned. Why not? summer holidays ahead, so a good investment. So far we haven't but effort, being kind, being a good friend, etc gets heaps of praise. I never quite understand the SAT's grades they tell you about, but according to DS he's doing v well. Grin

We've been on a slow amble up to discount sports shop to buy trainers. Ds now size 6 and he's only 9. Shock Eating ice pops in the garden now. Am a bit addicted...

topsyturner · 06/07/2013 17:23

Another vote for yes to the Lego !
