malteserzz · 17/07/2013 19:40

Kitkat I would have thought it would be ok but might be worth checking
Kurri you step away from the keyboard and I'll step away from the bcc site !

Gigondas · 17/07/2013 20:08

It's fine kitkat - enjoy.

Back to the apprentice ( did anyone else notice they had full face of slap on when phone rang).

Heating off now thank god but too nauseous to eat much.

Kurri- are you being naughty? Wink Where?

PictureThis · 17/07/2013 20:19

Emin hope to see you back here soon. Wishing you lots of love.

Day 1 post chemo, still feeling fine. I'm pretty sure it won't be like this next time, will it? God I hope so. Quick question, can I have a drink? I'm going out for dinner on Friday night with some girlfriends and wouldn't mind a cheeky glass of fizz or two max.

HerNextDoorAt21 · 17/07/2013 20:33

Hi it's me checking in from sunny Butlins at minehead .... Managed to escape Northern Ireland and topsy in her pants Shock. It looks like my wounds are finally starting to heal ..... We'll be having a tamoxigang party when
They finally heal. Love to all
And will try to read despite knowing that the signal
In Cornwall will be dire !

topsyturner · 17/07/2013 20:36

Picture this is the ideal time to have a glass or 5 2 I found !
You have anti sickness meds in your system , so you shouldn't get a hangover Grin

I found where kk was misbehaving !
You were actually quite restrained I thought Wink

Gigs I can never understand how , when they are given a 30 minute warning that the cars will be picking them up , they manage to do full hair and make up !

topsyturner · 17/07/2013 20:39

Gigs when I was feeling nauseous in hospital , the only thing I could face eating was a lovely bowl of mixed chopped melon .
Tell Mr Gigs I have ordered him to nip out to the shops and buy you fruit and lots of lovely nibbly food to tempt you !

And sod being healthy , if all you fancy is ice cream , then eat ice cream !

Gigondas · 17/07/2013 20:43

If you can face a drink have one picture. It may well be ok for you as not everyone is sick.

Topsy- cold cherries done the trick. Think Luisa will win despite the issues with presentation.

Gigondas · 17/07/2013 20:48

Mr gigs btw has just woken up from snooze after large curry lunch. he suggested if he had to do a pitch, he would make me dance in the style of Michael flat key WinkConfusedHmm.

dancing orange

Gigondas · 17/07/2013 20:49

Flatley even

KurriKurri · 17/07/2013 20:51

Glass of vino is fine Picture, - as is hoof-buffing Kitkat Grin

Gigs - just eat whatever you fancy, anything cool and fruity would be my choice if feeling a bit sicky. This heat doesn't help when you have nausea either does it? - glad you got your heating turned off! - Our house is that brilliant combo of cold in the winter even with the heating on, and boiling in the summer even if yo have all the windows open Hmm

I have stopped on the ghost thread (although I may be tempted back in, if it gets too ridiculous)

I have to cycle fourteen miles tomorrow (round trip) to my book club. I will no doubt be a sweaty mess by the time I arrive (may have to take a spare shirt and change in the library toilets!)

I am watching the apprentice later, as DD is out and we always watch it together so recording it until she gets back. So I'd better stay off the computer or I'm bound to see who has won.

smee · 17/07/2013 21:02

What's mad sis up to then, Kurri? Am guessing it surrounds your mum's house sale. Hmm

I quiet like 'flat key' Gigs. An improvement to the original if ever there was one. Glad to hear Mr Gigs is awake. Has he followed Topsy's orders yet? If not threaten she'll come round in her pants with PigDog. Grin

Picture I drank when I felt like it on chemo. Somehow DH got me into fruit beer. Haven't ever drunk it since, but at the time it felt right. Mine was in the summer too.

Waving to HND on her hols. Smile

KitKat, go for it and have perfect nails and feet. My mum once told me my feet were my best feature. She's not known for her tact. Grin

malteserzz · 17/07/2013 21:24

Won't mention the apprentice then !
Gigs how can mr gigs eat curry in this heat ? We have a groupon for a curry, were just discussing whether we can face using it at the weekend or if it's too hot. I was thinking we'd better use it before I start chemo and might not feel like it.
Cooling down now I'm sitting in a lovely breeze

Gigondas · 17/07/2013 21:26

Yes what's mad sis up to? And how is old lady dog kurri? And more to the point where is that thread...

You're hired is good tonight.

Topsy you would be over dressed in pants. Dh narrowly missed frightening our decorator (who is working late) by going into the kitchen naked. Grin

HerNextDoorAt21 · 17/07/2013 21:27

Thanks smee
I am waving back
!

PictureThis · 17/07/2013 21:40

Topsy Reeeeesult!! Genius, never thought about the sickness meds Grin and Kurri I'm very impressed with the 14 mile round trip on your bike in this heat. I couldn't do a 14 mile round trip in the cold mind you I'm so bloody unfit. Not for much longer as someone said earlier, (apologies for not remembering who) exercise is the 5th form of defence.

jchocchip · 17/07/2013 23:35

emin all the best for sorting your meds out quickly.
gigs you are as bad as my mum with heating on!
Nighty night lovelies. I dozed all evening after long day at work. woken up now I've come to bed ...
Popped in home bargains on way home. Can recommend their air-conditioning grin

KurriKurri · 18/07/2013 00:11

Have watched apprentice now - so feel free to discuss Grin

Yes, mad sisters behaviour is around house sale. I phoned my mum today, mad sis was there, answered the phone, and hung up on me - I was left talking to a silent receiver! (I hadn't said anything except 'It's KK is mum there Confused) -seriously she gets madder and madder. Without going into details (and actually my mum is very confused about what the hell is happening, so I can't get anything out of her, and sister lovely is abroad at the moment so I can't talk to her) there is something going on which I suspect is so that mad sis (MS) can get her hands on mum's money. I have to talk it over with Sister Lovely, to see how we are going to handle it. The main thing being that MS will go off on one and be nasty to mum if she is crossed.

Families eh??

Old lady dog is feeling her age atm, she has been a bit wobbly the last couple of weeks, and she's not enjoying the heat. I have the fan on for her all day. I am just enjoying being with her - I know we won't have her much longer Sad but she is eating well and seems happy and comfortable. I haven't been going out much though because I don't like leaving her for very long - she needs a bit of looking after poor old girl!

Don't be too impressed with my bike ride Picture - it will take me hours! Grin I cycle very very, slowly and get off and walk at roundabouts Blush
I found swimming was the best exercise when I had just finished treatment you can take it gently and it allows you to move your arm without over doing it. Yoga very good too for me - especially the relaxation and breathing Smile

malteserzz · 18/07/2013 07:47

Morning all
Hope everyone managed to sleep in the heat ? Ds woke us up in the early hours worried that a car alarm was a fire alarm yawn

KK sounds stressful about your sister, families are a pain sometimes.

Made me wonder with Kitkat asking about manicures and picture about wine is there a list anywhere of things you can and can't do during chemo ?

Hope everyone has a good day, any appointments today ?

malteserzz · 18/07/2013 07:49

Re the apprentice I didn't really like either of them but didn't want Leah to win. Thought she was a doctor but then she said she had trained privately ?

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/07/2013 07:52

Mad Sister sounds totally bonkers and rather awful - really hope you can get to talk to Sister lovely kk- families can be very very odd.
Dear Old Lady dog, am glad she seems ok but sorry that it's so uncomfortable in the heat for her.
The borrowed fan is lovely, I wanted it on all night but dh thought we should switch it off...I shall cart it round with me all day.
Precautionary domperidone taken and ice pops fill the fridge.
Hope everyone has a good day.

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/07/2013 07:55

I warmed a bit to Luisa a bit towards the end- Dh disgusted by Leah's project,me too..think she meant she trained in medical cosmetic stuff privately

malteserzz · 18/07/2013 09:29

Just me and you up Mas ! Glad you're enjoying the fan
Ds is poorly, keeps being sick bless him. Quiet day for us today I think

smee · 18/07/2013 10:22

Yawn here too. DS had one of his epic nose bleeds at 3am. He got back to sleep but I didn't until 6. G'ah..

Malt, your team should tell you the dos and don'ts on chemo. It's basic common sense though. Hope DS is better soon. How annoying right at the start of the holidays too.

Mad sis sounds true to form, Kurri. When's lovely sis back? Hope soon.. Poor old lady dog. Sad

Ruby, how are you?? Hope home??

Did you wrestle the exercise ball back from the girls, Gig??

MAS, DS and I have done thorough (important!) research into the best sort of ice pops. Our fave is a box of 20 'Simpsons' ones from Iceland. The lemon ones are mmm... Hope domperidone does its stuff xx

Better get on. Waving to all. Smile

malteserzz · 18/07/2013 10:24

Just received my appointment letter for Monday in the post it says that it is a group appointment for people about to start chemo has anyone else had this ? Sounds a bit impersonal hope we can ask questions and stuff

malteserzz · 18/07/2013 10:27

Morning smee x posted sorry for your rubbish nights sleep.
