smmmeeeee so glad you are home! Flowers

amberlight · 02/07/2013 15:52

Smee! You're home! Fab! Have a Brew and yes please for the Galaxy Counters.

Copt, ah yes, good Guardian thingy. I've heard the Holland comparison beforehand. Some parents say it's a bit more like Beirut during a war Wink. Mine was, er, very lively when he was young. Which makes me wonder at all the brainwashed-elsewhere parents who line up to tell me that I have No Idea what Real autism is like because I can talk...and No Idea what it's like to bring up a Real child with autism. Oh, and No Idea about any therapies either of course. Which is why I'm a Government level adviser on autism with a 20 year track record in the industry.

and breathe...

smee · 02/07/2013 16:21

Shall we send the girls round, Amber? Could show them our scars. Sorry to hear you're having a tough time.

'Louise', Mas had quite forgotten that one. How are you, MAS? Hope drugs not proving too pesky. x

Waving to Jane. Galaxy Counters a plenty for all Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/07/2013 17:04

Just hauled myself into town to print pics of T in his tux at Boots to send to elderly rellies and to buy bread etc - it was exhausting,am really knackered which is a bit pathetic.
Hugs for amber as I see things are very trying

swallowedAfly · 02/07/2013 17:24

hello. just popping in to say that the breast clinic rang today to ask me to come in on thursday - they've only just got the paperwork somehow. i'll be away on holiday then so we've made an appointment for right after i get back and i will meet the consultant and they'll do any tests he wants doing there and then.

my theory is i can now put it in a box marked open after my holiday without being in denial itms? as in i know it's in place and i might as well put it away until then.

that's the theory anyway Wink

again thanks so much for responding to me and for whoever came on my thread and told me that this one existed. sorry i am not keeping up and giving anything - head is a bit of a washing machine atm but i wish everyone well on their journeys with this 'stuff'

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/07/2013 17:28

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/07/2013 17:44

isn't it ? I am very touched.

trice · 02/07/2013 18:11

I have low neutrophils apparantly. How can I make more? Any ideas?

I had my review in the middle of the busy treatment room surrounded by old dears with nothing better to do but earwig. I love telling strangers about my bowels and mental health. No dignity allowed.

amberlight · 02/07/2013 18:55

Trice, if the docs are worried, they will boost them for you with injections, I believe. Just avoided that one myself. It's common though.

The review with no dignity is really Not On and it may be worth having a word with the duty manager about that. You are supposed to have privacy and dignity as a patient, and that's totally not it. Grr.

Copthallresident · 02/07/2013 19:01

Trice rest and lots of protein in diet, my Oncy was very keen on egg whites though how exactly you eat just an egg white Confused also they can give you neutrophil boosting injections although that is to see you over the lows when you are so low that you are at risk of an infection. After that my WBC would drop again and every treatment I had a long slow climb back to the point where they felt it was safe to give me the next treatment but they were all delayed. I Still have a low blood count, in the 2.?s versus 4 as the normal minimum and don't seem to be any more vulnerable to infection than normal. My pre diagnosis bloods showed a low blood count too, which may have been stress or I may just have been that way naturally. I think KK was told something similar.

I am sending lots of good vibes to all those suffering from sickness and gigs don't forget you are having to do lots after major ops laid you up in bed, two young children and your faithful pump, and rads, it would be amazing if your body wasn't worn out, and out of kilter. Give it time and panic only if it doesn't get better with rest and recuperation, and perhaps some physio.

It's all a bit moody city here, too much sleep deprivation all round, so I am sorry if haven't the energy to scroll and remember to send hugs to everyone who needs them but the intention is there.

BetsyBoop · 02/07/2013 19:21

Waves to smee you're home!

It seems like lots of poorly and out of sorts folks for me to join today. Short version is I was sick as a dog all morning, and after much tooing and froing Hmm I now have some stronger anti-emetics sorted. better now, but totally knackered.

to everyone needing them

malteserzz · 02/07/2013 19:56

Hugs to everyone who's poorly or fed up Hmm
Betsy you are having a rotten time I hope they have got you the right meds now
Trice no privacy is rubbish

Flippy how did your wig fitting go ?
Hope Emin is ok I haven't seen her post for a while

notJenkins · 02/07/2013 20:26

Just checking in and chucking banoffee ice cream on the trolley. Just back from a rainy walk on the beach and children went swimming in the sea fully dressed. It was warmer in the water than on the windy beach. They are tucked up in their onsies now after mega hot chocolate with marshmallows.

I am not so paranoid today. No giant cancers lurking in me I don't think.

kk hope you are ok.

ned we must do lunch soon. I will take a day off ( I need a lot of persuasion Grin)

I have a shiny new iPhone on its way to me. Much excitement.

flippyflippers · 02/07/2013 21:27

Malt - it didn't! I ended up in an ambulance this morning instead of getting new hair, steep learning curve about overdoing it Hmm. Have a wedding on Saturday, did any of you ladies lose your hair before day 12? I suppose it's different with each drug though. Bleurgh.

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 02/07/2013 21:31

Just watching the Rolling Stones recorded from the other day Grin

smee yay for being home! No tunnelling needed I hope you're being spoilt rotten :)

trice grr at lack of privacy, definitely complain if you have the energy!

notJ yay for new phone!

copt hope you get a better night's sleep tonight

Hugs to all, especially amber and betsy and trice and gigs and anyone else who's having a tough time :)

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 02/07/2013 21:32

Oops cross posted flippy eek at ambulance :( hope you're feeling better soon, no idea about hair I'm afraid as mine has only thinned.

flippyflippers · 02/07/2013 21:39

malteserzz · 02/07/2013 21:40

Ambulance! That must have been scary. Hope you are ok now Flippy.

Ds is going to see Matilda tomorrow. I am very envious . Hope he has a good time.

I draw the line at egg white when nauseous. I don't mind bacon though strangely.

topsyturner · 02/07/2013 22:20

Smeeeeeee you're home !

Trice they did your review in the waiting room ???
Gobsmacked !!!

Flippy what happened ?
Are you ok ?

Ok , will post this and go and look at the rest of the thread as I think remembering more than 3 people in one post might make my forehead cancer reappear ... Grin

topsyturner · 02/07/2013 22:21

Saw the pics on Facebook nj of the dip in the sea .
We do that when we are on hols down south .
We go for an evening beach walk after dinner , and it's traditional for DD to go for a fully clothed dip Grin

topsyturner · 02/07/2013 22:23

That's weird ?
In my first post I sang a song to Smee , and it's now disappeared !
(HQ obvs decided that even just in writing , my singing voice must not be heard !)

topsyturner · 02/07/2013 22:43

Oh and I'm lying in bed , scared .
I watched Luther , no spoilers but I ain't hanging my legs over the side of my bed tonight ShockShockShock

malteserzz · 02/07/2013 22:53

I want to see the sea, I was going to Greece in 2 weeks time Hmm self indulgent moan there!
Didn't see Luther but from FB comments gather it was scary
Matilda will be great trice lucky ds
Are we all going to sleep well tonight ? Hope so. 5.30 seems to be my waking time which is fine, it's when I wake up and it's only 1 I hate it
