That is true gigs they just need you in different ways :) How are you this evening ?
Hope everyone's ok seems really quiet on here at the moment but that is good if people are just getting on with life Smile

malteserzz · 10/06/2013 21:16

Hi topsy x posted, I know what you mean about the head tilters and I hate the thought that they're talking about and pitying me
Slap some after sun on ! You're lucky we didn't get any sun today here it's been quite chilly

Beamur · 10/06/2013 21:22

Hello - can I ask a quick question? My Mum had breast cancer 15+ years ago and has been very lucky & had no recurrence. However, today she tells me that her boob is feeling lumpy - it's the one she had surgery on. But there isn't a single or small lump, but a more general feeling of harder, lumpy tissue - she had made an appointment with the GP and is going to get it checked, but I wondered if anyone with experience of this could offer any opinions to what might be going on? Thanks.

BetsyBoop · 10/06/2013 22:07

urgh...

just a quick update from me so you know I haven't dropped off the edge of the world...

Spoke to BCN this afternoon. MRI results are not back yet, she hopes they will be back for this Friday's MDT meeting and will ring me Fri pm with an update....

I. hate. this. waiting. it. is. doing. my. head. in....

trice · 10/06/2013 22:07

Beamur - sorry, I can't help but it is best to get checked to be on the safe side. Fingers crossed it is nothing but scarring or ageing.

trice · 10/06/2013 22:12

There appears to be a special sort of time when waiting for results Betsy, it goes unbearably slowly and the goal posts keep vanishing into the distance. Maddening.

I always feel like schroedingers cat, with the best and worst outcomes spinning around in my head until the results are in.

coorong · 10/06/2013 22:15

we seem to be doing films here .....
gigs is now robogigs
kurri is now tippi from hitchcock ....
betsy is estragon .... waiting for godknows......

i on the other hand, shall have a small starring role in George Clooney's next romcom .... coorong on the como....

coorong · 10/06/2013 22:18

oh, and here's topsy's efforts
way to go Farah!

trice · 10/06/2013 22:22

I have been eating my capecitabene with jelly. If I drink them with juice they seem to get stuck and give me fearsome heartburn.

Side effects not too bad. Tiredness mainly, with nausea and stomach cramps/painful trapped wind. And that bone ache that seems to be common with all chemotherapy. Not nice but manageable. No probs with hands or feet yet.

I am visiting a friend in the morning who had a baby two weeks ago. Really looking forward to seeing them both. I love babies - it's a little girl called Phoebe, really sweet name.

topsyturner · 10/06/2013 22:26

Welcome Beamur
It's highly likely to be scarring or lumpy breast tissue , but with your mums history the gp will def refer her to a breast clinic for further checks .
Don't be alarmed at the speed this happens in , as they have to have you referred within 3 weeks (I think) these days .

topsyturner · 10/06/2013 22:28

And do you know what Coorong ?
I look exactly like Ms Farrah Fawcett in that shot in real life !
is a blatant liar liar pants on fire

Did I see ILGC appear earlier ?

Where've you been Mrs ?
Good to see you back !

topsyturner · 10/06/2013 22:32

Trice get a prescription off your GP for some omneprazole for your heartburn . (If you can bare taking even more tabs !)

Oh damn , that reminds me , I've forgotten to take my anti madness pills again ...... can I be bothered to scurry back downstairs and get them now I'm sprawled lying comfortably on my bed ?
Maybe I'll just take a double dose tomorrow and risk lunacy setting in over night Grin

topsyturner · 10/06/2013 22:33

Think I might be going for a personal best on the amount of posts in a row ...

malteserzz · 10/06/2013 22:53

Betsy the waiting is crap but I'm glad you posted I was getting worried about you, in a non stalkery way
I'm off for a bath which will obviously help me relax and stop worrying and sleep all night, yeah right Grin
Night all xx

malteserzz · 11/06/2013 04:00

Hope you're all fast asleep
Wish I was!
Think I slept from 12 till 330 but now wide awake and worrying.
The birds are singing and dh is fast asleep

Gigondas · 11/06/2013 06:31

Poor malt- have a teaBrew.

Grr about waiting betsy- it is awful but the advantage of mdt is that they give it a very thorough review .

Trice- I second vote for omeprazole. Also bone ache can be bone marrow upping blood production ( or I was told)-it eased after few cycles with me.

Off to be fitted for a robogig collar later at radiotherapy . Very achy after dressing change.

Better go as mini gig up early and on loony form climbing and into everything. I deserve this as big gig was not like this at all so was quite smug.

malteserzz · 11/06/2013 06:41

Morning gigs
Just can't do sleep without the pills at the moment
Hope everything goes ok for you today
I was smug about everything with my 1st she was just so chilled and easy, 2nd very different ! Lovely in his own way though

topsyturner · 11/06/2013 08:03

Gigs my 2nd born was one heck of a climber .
Just to let you know , they don't get any better , you just get more blasé about them doing it !
She's 10 now and I've list count of the amount of my friends who've said "I saw your DD yesterday , at the top of a 40 foot tree ...."
Grin

Malt how long has it been since your surgery ?
Just trying to figure when your path results will be in .

Lost all our lovely sunshine here .
Very grey , very wet , very windy Hmm
Ah well , looking at my lobster skin this morning , I'm better off stating away from the sun for a while Grin

What are we all up to today ?

topsyturner · 11/06/2013 08:05

X post EMIN
What a lovely email to receive .
Sorry to hear the sleeping was crap though .

EarthMotherImNot · 11/06/2013 08:15

topsyturner · 11/06/2013 08:43

malteserzz · 11/06/2013 09:25

Cake eating commune sounds great in in !
Emin how lovely :)
Topsy it was a week ago today, they said to expect an appointment in 2 weeks so I'm hoping it will be next week
Freezing here today and drizzling such a change from the sun

EarthMotherImNot · 11/06/2013 10:40

Just had our post arrive with an appointment card from the chemo unit???

I saw the oncologist on the 3rd of June and she said my chemo would take a few weeks to get organized but the appointment card simple says
Monday 17/06/13 @1.30pm
Tuesday 18/06/13@1pm

What will happen then? Its only a week away (wibble) There is no mention of how long it will take, or what happens, help........

malteserzz · 11/06/2013 10:46

Oh Emin that is rubbish can you give them a ring ? I don't know but are there tests etc you need to have first could the appointments be for them ? You'd think they would tell you
