Cor Coorong - those guys in the budgie smugglers do it for me!

Earth - sorry you've had an awful day.

Gigs - I have on;y seem part of your recent story but sending hugs.

Malt - better to keep your lymph nodes if possible, for the reason others have said. Also I'm afraid you sometimes get a horrid sort of pain down your arm after they muck about under your arm - I was on Tramadol for 3 weeks - but I may have been unusual re that. We've had lots of posts on here in the past about feeling you have a rolled up newspaper under your arm for months (I still sometimes have that feeling) plus the need to do lots of arm-waving exercises etc. I still towel my back in a vigorous manner as I learned from those exercises. I also swim regularly - partly because I enjoy it, but also it seems to keep my arm stretched out nicely, so not stiff.

So hang on and see if you can keep your nodes!

Waving to all

xx

Well it has been a lovely sunny day. Dh made a fairly decent chicken tikka for dinner which even the children enjoyed.

Lovely friend entertained me with tales of her new hobby which is 'journaling'. It looked quite a lot like scrapbooking to me, but more arty. I fancy having a go myself.

I had a node clearance, quite a lot of my arm is numb. I did have lymph oedema but I lost a couple of stone and did weight training which just about cured it. I hated the sausage fingers, the aching and wearing compression sleeves. It still gets swollen on flights or in hot weather, but drains down overnight if I keep it propped up.

Emin - it must be so frustrating that they won't listen to what you need but want to push their ideas onto you. Just when you are too weak to fight too. Hope it comes right.

Betsy - they sound super efficient, I normally have to wait weeks for any results, if they don't loose them first! Good luck for tomorrow.

Hope you all manage some sleep tonight.

Copthallresident · 06/06/2013 22:28

Mas I have copied that link and sent it to Big Copt saying she has to watch it ten times to appreciate what we did for her, if she doesn't I am not booking Harry Potter World... night and she has a hangover... Grin

Emin I am sure Amber can provide some studies but unless you are in isolation or have something catching then I am quite sure that cuddling is healthy, and like laughter it is one of the few "positive" things that actually do help you cope with Cancer. Perhaps your sister needs more cuddles Grin

I will stop moaning and just wait for my results :)
Hope everyone sleeps ok tonight
Betsy hope you get all of your results tomorrow
Hope not to see anyone on here at 430 again! Dh hates me going on the net at night says how are you going to sleep when you're doing that ! But sometimes I think it's better than just lying there thinking
Sweet dreams everyone x

Copthallresident · 06/06/2013 23:10

Poor Big Copt, It's "creeping me out. I'm going to have nightmares now." Grin

Dd2 staying at home as gcse maths exam on monday. At least she can feed cat and revise in peace... will ask friends mym to keep an eye on her. Dd1 has spent the day making soft toys. She is going to put them in her etsy shop and hopes to raise money to fund her art degree next year :) She needs to get it organised as she will make lots of things but not get around to listing them...

jchocchip · 07/06/2013 05:15

I just can't stay asleep at night, takes me ages to drop off then I'm awake in an hour or 2 then takes me ages to drop off again etc. might have a tablet tonight just for a good nights sleep
I have a friend coming for coffee this morning hopefully in the sun

jchocchip · 07/06/2013 07:29

The temptation to press that link was too much mas, it only took a couple of bars for earworm to threaten to set in so jumped to a funny song and now humming code monkey on the bus!
Morning coffee with friend sounds hust the job malt.

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/06/2013 07:53

arf ! sorry about the link- I am playing the song on a loop in my head now...
jchoc have you a link to dd's etsy shop ?
Today I shall finish some work I hope and tonight we're taking T out to dinner -it's his bday tomorrow - he has chosen Thai.
Hope everyone has a good day and results are good betsy

EarthMotherImNot · 07/06/2013 08:05

ooh, he looks so smartGrin

Our grandson (14) who, with DD1 moved back home a couple of months ago to live with us, is starting his new school this morning.

He has his new uniform on and he looks too cool Wink

Its made my morning to see him before he leaves for school.

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/06/2013 08:19

aw,bless earth !

trice · 07/06/2013 08:21

Jchoc - your dd sounds really creative. She will have to sell her creations as ornaments ; toys need testing to prove they are child safe. But I'm sure she has looked into all that, I imagine they are aimed at arty people like herself rather than under threes. When she is ready you will have to link to her shop.

My parents are coming for lunch, I am looking forward to it. I have to find a frilly white shirt for ds to be the pied piper in for his school play. That is going to take serious interneting. Might do the school uniforms too.

smee · 07/06/2013 09:18

Hope DGS's first day goes well then, Earth. He must be nervous starting at a new school. Hope it's a good one.

Grin at bigCopt small world trauma.

Is DS going to be 16, MAS?? Shock

Jane, hope you find a tent.

On nodes, Malt what SR and Trice say is right as it's best to keep them if you can. If they do say you need them out it's not the end of the world. My arm's still lost some sensation due to nerve damage, but that feels normal now as am so used to it. I get a bit of swelling from time to time, but it's all more than liveable with.

Better do some work. Betsy, hope you get some news today from your team. Smile

smee · 07/06/2013 09:19

Trice, could DS just have one of your DH white shirts if it will be large, with a broad belt to pull it in?

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/06/2013 10:46

yes,16 !! practically a man Shock

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/06/2013 10:53
Copthallresident · 07/06/2013 10:58

smee Mas imagine if Small World did go bad Grin surprised someone hasn't made a horror movie of it already.

The numbness does keep improving, 12 years on it is just a small narrow band running from the back of my armpit a few inches down the back of my arm, otherwise all the feeling has returned. I don't notice it at all, just had a poke to see whether it was still there!

jchoc Enjoy Dorset, it is warm down here, though Dad has been keeping us appraised of the fact it has been warmer up there, something he takes as a personal victory Smile Good luck to DD2 with her Maths, is she sitting others or is it a year early, and to DD1. I love Etsy, a brilliant idea and some great stuff on it. Friend's DD who now out of art school started marketing her jewellery there and that has led to it being stocked in a couple of shops as well.

EMIN Aw, they do look lovely on that first day, in their crisp new uniforms, all promise.

Mas enjoying your countdown, birthdays do make you think of that day, don't they? but it was one of the happiest in your life. 21years ago I was waddling around like a house side with two weeks to go to due date and finally having the courage to buy a pram and cot, actually madly ringing around John Lewis branches to find one that had one I wanted in stock as didn't have the six weeks needed to wait for one on order!!!! , because it might actually really be going to happen.

trice shame you are not here as we have at least a hundred charity shops on High Street, and sure to be a range of frilly shirts.... They were very handy for those play and assembly crises.

I hope gigs is rested and feeling better and the pump is doing the job.

More desperate gardening here today, planted up all my tomatoes, cucumbers, aubergine and chillis in greenhouse last night at 9 pm!! Weeks behind usual, but hopefully nice weather will chivvy it all along.

Plus you made me google small world horror: not terribly effective but here it is

sparklesunshine · 07/06/2013 12:40

If we're asking about experiences - how many people got or didn't get neuropathy on doxetaxel? I'm on it starting next week and slightly terrified of loosing my nerves. Anything beyond Amber's ice mitts I can do to avoid it?

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/06/2013 12:43
