Huge good luck gigs with op this afternoon. Hope it sorts out the nasty infection.

Glad you are feeling ok malt. I have relatively no pain but slept with a pillow under my snb arm.

Good results ruby

Waving to all, now back to work.

amberlight · 05/06/2013 14:06

Good afternoon, serfs. Wink Pass us a lager, will you? Brought fish 'n chips for all! In posh newspaper.

KurriKurri · 05/06/2013 14:08

Dashing in quickly to say good luck to Gigs xx
And welcome back malt - hope you are feeling OK Smile
Enjoy the party trice - floaty dress and large G&T should do the trick Smile

Waving to all - have stretched my out of work muscles with yoga this morning and now off to bathe old lady dog, and then gardening.

smee · 05/06/2013 14:13

Yes, huge gentle hugs Gigs. Hope you're comfy when you're through. xx

Gigondas · 05/06/2013 14:20

Still waiting HmmAngry temper fairly frayed due to uncomfy bed, hot room, nil by mouth and no pain relief plus usual threats of may not get out tonight.

Do you have gloves and a hat baronessamber? Talking of which you would make a better baroness than this woman quick the 1930s are missing you

malteserzz · 05/06/2013 14:30

That is crap gigs I'm cross on your behalf Hmm hope you get seen soon xx

Gigondas · 05/06/2013 14:35

Suppose can't be helped as other ops take as long as it takes.

If its any comfort this is private so you get a room but rest of it is same old hospital stuff.

amberlight · 05/06/2013 14:36

Gigs, arrrghhh! Shall I get my Butler to go round there and engage with the Chief Consultant in a bit of fisticuffs in the car park?

I love the link. Ah yes, I'm fab with antiques. Grin

malteserzz · 05/06/2013 14:44

Yes can't be helped my friend was in before me yesterday I told her to make sure he did a quick job on her Grin
Frustrating waiting around though
I thought I'd be starving today but not at all

MrGigs · 05/06/2013 14:57

Good afternoon ladies. I told Gigs that the key to them getting on with it and wheeling her in was if I came to visit. I've just arrived and they took her in about 3 minutes ago.

Anyway I'm sitting in her empty room, which is boiling hot, waiting for her return.

Thank you for your kind birthday wishes by the way.

I'll update you when Gigs returns...

KurriKurri · 05/06/2013 15:30

Hooray - at last! - thanks for update MrGigs (glad you had a nice birthday - any cake left? )

Have stirred up a big ants nest in the garden, so had to run inside squealing like a pig and slapping at my arms to get the ants off Grin

I see Her Royal Highness amber is back among us, , Grin Hope you had a productive day aside from your elevation to the peerage amber.

MrGigs · 05/06/2013 15:34

Poor you Kurri, best leave it to the gardener next time.

Re the cake Gigs bailed on the cake making (purchasing) duties before I arrived home on Monday with some cock and bull story about an infection - the lengths some people will go to...

smee · 05/06/2013 15:44

No cake?! Shock We'll keep you company Mr G. How long will she be under for, do you know?

Ants nests scare me, Kurri. You are most brave if pig like. Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 05/06/2013 15:54

oh,no birthday cake ?? can offer you the crumbs from my dad's cake...
Hope gig is out quickly and can come home tonight.
malt -reminded by gracie's post that a pillow under the op side arm was v helpful

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 05/06/2013 15:55

Just checking in, glad gigs has finally gone in. Brew for MrGigs :( no cake. You could've bought your own Grin

I'm having a super chilled out afternoon, just sitting on my swing bench knitting. I just did 10 minutes mindfulness with the Headspace app and it was very relaxing :) must try and do it every day.

The Macmillan nurse who runs my support group has emailed me about a HOPE course they're running ( Help to Overcome Problems Effectively) which sounds quite helpful, it's about living with/after cancer and relaxation techniques and all sorts, there's seven sessions. Has anyone been on the course? I think I will sign up. What with that and the exercise programme I'm meant to be signing up for I'm going to be quite busy! :)

Eek at the ants Kurri I hope you've managed to get them all off!

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 05/06/2013 15:56

Biscuit for MrGigs too as there's no cake!

MrGigs · 05/06/2013 16:01

Gigs out and compos mentis, slightly more than normal actually. The next challenge is to spring her from this joint, have started a tunnel and am hiding the debris in my trousers...

amberlight · 05/06/2013 16:07

Ah, is that what it is?

topsyturner · 05/06/2013 16:14

Hooray for Mr Gigs capacious trousers !!!
GrinGrinGrin

smee · 05/06/2013 16:14

That was quick. Hooray for Gig. Smile You should have brought the mini-gigs, bet they'd be great at tunnelling. Grin

topsyturner · 05/06/2013 16:14
KurriKurri · 05/06/2013 16:16

Can you smuggle in a large vaulting horse to disguise your tunneling attempts MrG? Glad you are out Gigs and compos mentis (how miraculous seeing as you were anything but before your op Grin)

That course sounds good Ruby, - I haven't done that specifically, but ou cancer support centre runs a lot of sessions of relaxation, how to cope with fatigue, anxiety etc etc - and I've always found them very useful (and you often meet nice people there as well)

Of to brave the ants again (alas the only gardener round here is me, Dh will occasionally come out and stand holding a spade for five minutes, but then his old entirely fictional knee problem plays up and he has to go back inside)

Waving to MAS and Smee and gracie and topsy and everyone I may have missed Smile

KurriKurri · 05/06/2013 16:17

that should say 'our' cancer centre - I've made it sound as if it is run by the Open University which it isn't Grin

malteserzz · 05/06/2013 16:21

Glad gigs is done hope you can get home tonight

malteserzz · 05/06/2013 16:26

Ruby that course does sound good Smile anything that makes things a little easier has got to be good and you might meet some people too
