coorong · 04/06/2013 17:52

xposted kurri - hope all well with your DDIL

KurriKurri · 04/06/2013 18:00

DS just phoned to say DDIL has had her op and is on her way home Smile

smee · 04/06/2013 18:26

Phew, Kurri that's good about DDIL. Smile

Coorong, that's not a side effect I've had with Tamoxifen. Is it on the leaflet?? Distractions look good. Grin

Wonder how Malt got on. Hope she's safely through.

KurriKurri · 04/06/2013 20:23

Hope malt has had her op by now and is sitting up in bed having a cuppa.

BetsyBoop · 04/06/2013 20:23

good news about DIL KK :)

glad you got your PKs sorted Gigs

Just checking if there is news from Malt yet, hopefully she is enjoying a nice post-GA snooze on the ward.

Well I finally plucked up courage to phone SIL with the news (she was lovely) sent out an email to far flung friends and family, and asked close friends to let not-so-close firnds know, so hopefully that is everyone told (I'm sick of telling folks now tbh...)

BetsyBoop · 04/06/2013 20:24

x-post or having a nice cuppa and slice of toast :)

trice · 04/06/2013 20:29

Hope you have woken up not too sore Malt.

I was pushed round town in my wheelchair today. I had to buy some birthday presents. I managed in the end but what a palaver! The number of shops with steps is madness! What are they thinking when they do the shop fitting?

jchocchip · 04/06/2013 20:56

Checking in for news of Malt. Good to hear that ddil is on way home kk

Well done on the letting people know front betsy - that is a hard thing to do, dealing with other peoples emotions. Phew.

notJenkins · 04/06/2013 20:58

She has posted on fb that she is waiting for a dr to discharge her so she must be ok

coorong · 04/06/2013 21:01

thanks for the update notjenkins - I'm not on Facebook so much appreciated

jchocchip · 04/06/2013 21:05

and trice well done on your trip out. I know how hard it can be with a wheelchair, certainly makes you view the world in a different way...

jchocchip · 04/06/2013 21:06

xpost - good news about malt :)

Gigondas · 04/06/2013 21:32

Was about to say same notj. Dosing up on painkillers as uncomfy bed hurting my hip.

Glad Ddil is out kurri .

Gigondas · 04/06/2013 21:51

Very good news About malt. Not least cos hospital beds aren't comfy.

Am dosed up now so off to read not perv what I sent coorong.

Trice- that is annoying about access but no surprise. Did you get all you wanted?

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 04/06/2013 22:04

Hello all,

Slept again this afternoon and I'm feeling much better :) I clicked on the link gigs and when it said lions in the title for some reason I thought it meant the big cats so was a bit disappointed it was just men BlushGrin glad you've got the painkillers sorted.

Kurri good news about DDIL.

trice glad you managed a shopping trip but grr about steps!

Betsy well done for contacting SIL and good idea to ask others to pass on the news, it is hard work telling people!

Just doing a spot of knitting and watching yesterday's Springwatch. We are a day behind at the mo.

trice · 04/06/2013 22:20

Can you get a cushion or something Gig? you would think they could give you something soft to lie on.

Ruby - are you knitting something small? I am halfway through a wooly shawl which has got boring, and is too hot in this weather. If I crack on I could probably finish this week before starting my second chemo cycle.

Gigondas · 04/06/2013 22:33

Have got painkillers and feel better now but may ask for extra cushion- good idea trice.

Knitting and spring watch sound nice. No tv tonight but nearly gone cross eyed reading one of my old favourites.

BetsyBoop · 04/06/2013 22:35

thanks for the update notj

malt - I'm hoping you are safely tucked up in your own bed at home by now :)

topsyturner · 04/06/2013 22:43

Evening all

Good news on DDil front Kk

Gigs would a soothing massage from the Lions help ???
Definitely time to pull the Cancer Card (once they are back in the country)

Trice disability access is woefull !
I would get very grrrrrr in your position .

Ruby I am close to finishing my DSs blanket for him to remember me by , and not just because I am almost out of wool !

I can't do one single post thanks to iPhone ! No scroll back facility available !
Let me go check what I have missed memory of a goldfish and I'll be right back ...

topsyturner · 04/06/2013 22:48

Saw on FB that Malt is getting chucked out tonight . That's good news !

Gigs what's the old fave you have been reading ?

I'm just back from HNDs
We had wine , then Tia Maria and coke !
Not just for no reason , she has a friend over from the mainland for a visit . So we had to give her a proper Irish welcome ... Grin

I'm now home , having a coffee before bed no I didn't put a slug of Bacardi gold in in , no not me

I see Amber has been at the House of Lords again , impersonating a Baroness this time Grin

See you all on the flip side .

Copthallresident · 04/06/2013 23:21

Yes poor Amber you must be having identity issues, is she a Baroness? is she a dodgy lobbyist? Is she a ........... Shock Thought that the BBC publishing that list was a disgrace, you were quite clearly not the only one on it working for a good cause. It seem as though governments these days will sacrifice anything to be seen to do something in the press.

Gigs Hope you get comfortable, those beds are always so uncomfortable. Those Lions a sight for sore eyes though........ went down very well with friends in Hong Kong Grin.

Topsy Are we back in the bus shelter with the retro drinks? Grin

I think Malt is probably having a good sleep, glad she is off home.

Ruby Sounds like a nice chilled day, sounds very hippy, "we are a day behind, man......"

smee Thanks, I think Little Copt is mostly focused on wishing she could go and tell all PE teachers who ever said she needed to make more effort, also on it being excuse for nightmare messy bedroom......

OP posts:
topsyturner · 04/06/2013 23:32

Copt am firmly lodged in the bus shelter !
Hope I'm not sick tomorrow ...

KurriKurri · 04/06/2013 23:40

Hooray for malt being out and home, - hope you are not too sore malt, and feeling relieved to have it out of the way Smile xx

Can someone explain amber being a baroness to me? - I am mystified? (although obviously not if it would compromise amber's privacy in any way)

Oh bugger - the screen from my computer has just taken a nose dive backwards - it is hanging on by a thin wire and some broken plastic. If I mysteriously disappear, you will know it is because my computer has gone to the great PCWorld in the sky.

topsyturner · 04/06/2013 23:48

Amber has been on one of her jaunts to the House of Commons kk
And somehow they have managed to publish her name on a liSt of visitors , which caused great confusion amongst the guards as normally the only people who get these types of passes are from the titled classes Grin
