Be good to yourself today , eat whatever you fancy .
Dr Topsys orders Grin

Gigondas · 06/09/2012 09:36

Pink sent you a pm as don't want to reveal extent of my woo love on here Wink (more seriously I would take over thread).

gracie yay for one more down- but boo about butcher on arm. Mine look like bruise factory still.

The theme from zelda? That is probably worse than imagination movers Grin

Big gig very happy about big school - I scarpered so could have some toast (big gig didn't even give a backward glance), but i did have a Smile at bloke who had bought his massive slr camera and was following his pfb daughter round annoying her taking pics.

drtopsy not yet! but they will, i am determined!

Sometimesiwonder · 06/09/2012 09:56

Ha ha - Bless him, Gig! Grin I do find that men can be sentimental buffoons at times like this. Very sweet, but I'd be more with you on the extra toast.

Bloody hell, Pink. That's a straightener, but I have to say you do sound calm, accepting and very wise. I'm sure there are loads of other feelings in there as well, and I can't think of anything to say that would be of practical help except that 'woo' therapies can make you feel SO much better - go with woo-Queen Gig's suggestions, and the things available via macmillan at the hospital. Put yourself first, and remember that we are always here - on board or off it. Promise. x

Sparkles!!! Glad you had a goodish summer, and I am wildly impressed with tiny sparkles' independence, and ds's braininess.

Invicta - I didn't say welcome before but it was an omission, I meant to. I hope we can help, even if it's only with distraction and helping you to procrastinate, which we are mostly quite excellent at

Love and good vibes to every one of you, especially those having things done to them today.

Haven't seen KK about for a bit - is she on holiday?

Good luck to topsy and gigs for CT scans.

sparkles wow what a clever boy. Nice to see you back too. kk is in Oz, think she is due back soon.

otm hope those anti-sickness tabs are working.

Having a nightmare with DD and school. She is such a sensitive wee soul and was playing tag in the playground on Tuesday. Some teacher thought she was hitting her friend on the back when she was saying 'caught' and told her off, cue floods of tears and her friend backed her up saying it was a game but the deed had been done. So I am having floods of tears every morning and she doesn't want to to to school Sad. I know I am biased but she really is a very good and thoughtful little girl but she is so sad.

Off for lunch with some work colleagues today so looking forward to it.

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/09/2012 10:34

lots of luck with CT topsy (and wound) and to gig tomorrow.

pink I'm not a fan of woo stuff generally but I absolutely recommend Mindfulness meditation - it would help you be in the present moment, rather than dwelling in the past of anticipating the future- it's all very simple and relaxing. Lots of info online.
V sad news that family friend with horrid cancer (mentioned him last week) died in the hospice on Friday- he told his wife 'I think I'll go today' and he did. RIP Big Jim.

graciesmall09 · 06/09/2012 10:49

Aw mas that is very sad. I do think some people just know when they are going to die. My dad was given 6 months but said please don't think I will be here that long I won't last the 6 months and he didn't he died 5 weeks later.

Sometimesiwonder · 06/09/2012 12:01

V sad about Big Jim. RIP, Jim. Thanks

Gracie - poor dd. Sad They do get these things out of proportion, I know my dd would be the same and I think she's older than yours (9). Can you talk to the teacher in question? If dd knows the teacher understands what was going on, the worry might evaporate.

KK is in Oz???? I thought that was Smee! Or has KK gone too? How exciting! Envy apart from the big spiders

Gigondas · 06/09/2012 12:11

Rip big Jim.

Yes kk on holiday but didn't think it was aus.

Meditation way forward - much more effective than Cbt was for me (and it was mas that got me into it).

That said am very mellow post massage - big gig will soon sort that.

gracie poor dd - sorry they were so heavy handed.

On a completely unrelated note, is anyone else still watching parades end?

OP posts:
graciesmall09 · 06/09/2012 12:15

Chemo brain alert - it is smee in Oz, kk has gone to visit her sister hasn't she? topsy is probably huffing now if she thinks smee has smuggled kk in her luggage.

It wasn't even her teacher it was some other teacher. Seemingly DD's teacher said to the nasty other one 'DD is a good girl'.

gigs haven't seen Parades End when is it on?

Right off for lunch, running late as per usual.

topsyturner · 06/09/2012 12:15

RIP Big Jim x

Gracie Sad poor DD . I still remember an off hand remark made by one of my junior school teachers , from all those years ago .
Poor girl .

CT done .
Got a sore hand from needle site for the contrast fluid Sad
Wound looked at .
Oozing green stuff and I have a red nipple
Intensive honey dressings for the next week , then they will look again .

On the bus now on the way home .
And no one wants to look at my pus ridden boob or my red nipple .
People aren't as friendly as they used to be Grin

topsyturner · 06/09/2012 12:17

Me Miss !
I'm watching Parades End and loving it .
(BBC2 on Fridays Gracie)

Sometimesiwonder · 06/09/2012 12:38

Blimey Topsy it's a sign of the unfriendly times Grin

Ah, not Oz then. Makes sense now. Thanks!

I remember nasty remarks from teachers, too, and I'm ancient. I don't envy teachers having to deal with 30+ kids all day, but sometimes they do need to think a bit before they speak. DD's TA for the last 2 years was a mean spirited, bad tempered cow with everyone: thank heavens we have dropped her this time around Angry

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/09/2012 12:44

me too,love it !

green ooze has made me feel a bit icky topsy~ -bah ! kk is in bonny Scotland I believe.
Big Jim,who was very very tall was a young Scotsman who married friend of my mum and dad,she being a good deal older than him-(I'd say about ten yrs-she was divorced with 2 girls) his accent was really hard for us to understand when we first knew him (this was years ago when I was a teenager). He was brilliant with building things -the studio at the end of our gardens being the very beautiful reminder of his handiwork.

Sometimesiwonder · 06/09/2012 13:00

Ah, bless! Well that's a nice way to remember him.

SparkleRainbow · 06/09/2012 13:34

MAS - am so sorry about your friend. RIP Jim

Topsy - don't be inhibited...doesn't actually matter if people want to see your boob or not....flash them anyway Wink

Happy hols for smee and Kurri then....lucky things.

9:10 this morning and dd2 dismissed me with, you can go now mummy. Grin

Sometimesiwonder · 06/09/2012 14:07

Yup! They'll never know what they're missing if you don't show them, Topsy...

topsyturner · 06/09/2012 14:14

Am at home now .
But next time I'm on the bus (next Friday for those who wish to avoid the 7a from the city centre) I shall reveal all ...

NedSchneebly · 06/09/2012 14:42

Afternoon all. Quick Brew before the school run, anyone?

Sparkle Clever DS! Hope he feels very chuffed with himself - its no mean feat getting picked for G&T stuff in my experience. Good work, junior sparkle !

gig glad to hear big gig went off without a backward glance - it is definitely by far the best way, believe me! I saw mother of twins in reception at DSs school struggling to get these two wailing boys into school! Hope she comes back having had a lovely day x x

pink how are you feeling today, lovely?

MAS Sad news about Big Jim. RIP Thanks Hope Ts first day or two back has gone OK. Was he disappointed with his C? Will he take it as a kick up the proverbial?

topsy I am sure that the occupants of any bus in Belfast should feel honoured to see your smeggy boob Smile Did you manage to get it checked out?

Must shoot off - school run calling. Will check in again later x x x x

Sometimesiwonder · 06/09/2012 14:54

Ah yes, MAS, Ds's disappointing C grade. Do you think he'll take it as a wake-up call? I hope so, if he's capable of more, seems such a shame not to achieve the best possible. But otherwise a C is perfectly respectable here speaks a C-grader through and through Smile

I've got to pick up dd too. Sigh. I she has to prepare a presentation tonight on why she would make a good school council rep. She's already conned me into paying for leaflets to be printed Grin Shock

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/09/2012 14:57

Dh had a talk with him about GCSEs and how he can get to his A level choices -in the hope of reminding him that he does need to apply himself a bit more. I got a bit panicky about it all yesterday (no wonder I have exam anxiety dreams)
Am feeling slightly on edge waiting for CT results -I was told to ring if I hadn't heard by 2 weeks (it's only 1 week)

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/09/2012 14:58

oh yes, C is an ok grade, it's just that I hoped he'd get at least a B
