Ah no, KK not grandchildren quite yet. But 9.5 pounds??? Eeeek Shock

Chocolate cake for me too please, MAS

Well, KK, we did get an afternoon to ourselves and we went to Glendalough which was very lovely indeed Smile And the food poisoning was pretty transient - a few hours in A&E on a drip sorted it out. Of course, MIL (it wasn't her who got ill) blamed the very lovely wedding meal, rather than her family's gung-ho approach to food hygiene Grin

topsyturner · 17/09/2012 15:44

CT is all clear !

jchocchip · 17/09/2012 15:59

smee · 17/09/2012 16:54

YEAY AND TRIPLE YEAY.... How utterly bloody fantastic. So pleased for you both. All we need is Eight back with another one and we'll have a hatrick. Smile Smile

Topsy, what does it mean for you? Still in remission like last time. Were they as astonished?? Go celebrate, but tell us when you can. Smile

Grrr, didn't mean to post that twice, but meant to post that was so excited, I missed 8's news. A hatrick it is then. HIP-HIP XX Grin

KurriKurri · 17/09/2012 17:05

yay to clearness, topsy - you are going to be appearing in medical textbooks if you don't watch out Grin

jane - hooray for good mammo (and well done for ringing them to find out)

I have just done an hour of aerobics with DD (It was a Davina McCall DVD - she's quite an annoying person, but it was a good work out). As DD says - the more we do the exercise, the more we can eat cake Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 17/09/2012 17:19

dd very sensible kk !
Fab fab news for all 3 -topsy eight and jane - that is so great-celebrate with me later- I have prosecco too ! Haven't opened presents yet (have to wait for dh to come home) but did have some flowers, nice White Stuff trousers and a new belt and sweet scarf from parents and a jar of home made crab apple and orange jelly and a bunch of sweetpeas from the friend who took me to lunch today. And the dear little children next door made me cards [sob] Feel very overwhelmed by it all.

Sometimesiwonder · 17/09/2012 17:37

Yay for a hat trick of good results! Smile Smile Smile

And yay for for birthday treats, too, MAS. I hope you have a fab evening. x

An hour's aerobics???? Shock I don't think I could manage anything like that! Envy

topsyturner · 17/09/2012 17:40

Sorry for the brief message earlier !

In full , the CT was good .
Even the left over lung spots have got fainter .
Onc said they had more or less vanished !
They brought medical students in to gawp at me be told my tale !
And they don't want to see me or CT me again till January Grin

So today has been a good day .
I am going to drink wine now .
Lots of wine x

graciesmall09 · 17/09/2012 17:47

Oh I am so happy. Triple good results.

Enjoy your birthday drinks mas.

Hopefully back later, being kicked off computer for homework.

Gigondas · 17/09/2012 17:49

Yay on all the good results Grin. Offering a very crumbly choclit cake (am afraid broccoli remains untouched) in celebration

Am loving the logic of aerobics=cake kurri

On wine in chemo, I am glad I can have it if I want but tastes are a bit off (tea is no where near strong enough these days).

Topsy, the wonders of a) good medics and b) mumsnet thread top tips from scientists, combined. Keep up dark bedrooms at night, lots of blueberries and Vit D and an aspirin dose, and I reckon the sd will stay sdded off. It stops the genes methylating (which sounds a bit painful).

smee · 17/09/2012 17:56

Ooh Topsy how brilliant. You're clearly a freak unique. Bet that's a compliment even if you read the crossed out bits. Grin

MAS, presents sound lovely. Prosecco sounds good too. Have a lovely time. Smile

Kurri impressive aerobics! I always thought your daughter sounded wise. Definitely a chip off the old block. Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 17/09/2012 17:59

topsy is a medical miracle Grin

LimeJellyforBrains · 17/09/2012 18:03

Yay, yay and triple yay! Grin

And happiest of birthdays to MAS Wine Smile

Amber - any particular D vitamin? Was looking in my chemist the other day, they have D2 or D3.

smee · 17/09/2012 18:06

Yes, Dr Amber I'd like to know that too please. I have a new blackout eye mask, take an Asprin daily and scoff fists full of blueberries, so I might as well go the whole hog. Smile

KurriKurri · 17/09/2012 19:14

Don't be too impressed by the aerobics, there's a woman trainer on the DVD who shouts 'OK let's burn some fat' every so often and jumps about, DD and I say 'let's not do this bit' Grin I can't jump around anyway, I do not have the pelvic floor for such antics.

Lime - as far as I know it is vitamin D3 you need, and about 2,500 iu dosage I think that's right - someone correct me if I'm wrong) I get mine from an independent health store in town. Think you might be able to get them on amazon too. They should be about £10 ish for a bottle of 50. The brand name of mine is Solgar(but I'm sure there are other brands)

MAS your presents sound lovely, enjoy your evening xx

MaryAnnSingleton · 17/09/2012 19:41

saw blueberries today and thought of amber !

Gigondas · 17/09/2012 19:55

Asks dr amber if liquid vitamin d better than tablet version( was told when had mc issues and advised to take it the yucky liquid version best).

Baskets45 · 17/09/2012 20:01

Brilliant about the triple good news. Yay!! Grin And especially pleased to hear of Topsy's vanishing lung spots.

I'm 'allowed' to drink on special occasions - maybe tonight's the night?! Wine I've a bottle of wine planked at the back of a cupboard, which shows unheard of restraint on my part - i keep thinking about it, then remind myself of the possible consequences. Confused

amberlight · 17/09/2012 20:02

articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2012/08/01/vitamin-d-for-breast-cancer.aspx is a decent article about it
Can't advise, really. Just can point people to the possibilities. Best Vit D is getting some sun on your skin (without burning it).

smee · 17/09/2012 20:10

www.breastcancer.org/risk/factors/low_vit_d.jsp is a good summary too. Says D3's the best. Whatever that is. Confused

LimeJellyforBrains · 17/09/2012 20:29

Arf at our joint consultation with Dr Amber. What trashy mags do you reckon she has in her waiting room? Very well appointed looking tea trolley over in the corner......Smile

That first article says 8,000 iu KK!
