What about Barefoot in The Park with Robert Redford and Jane Fonda - that's an oldie I used to really like (not sure if it may be a bit dated, ages since I saw it)

Bringing up Baby and The Philadelphia Story with Katherine Hepburn

Do you like Cary Grant - North by Northwest is good, or the one he's in with Ingrid Bergman where her Dh is a Nazi (forgotten the title) or Suspicion (Another Hitchcock but not scary, more thriller)

Oh and The Hitchcock version of Rebecca with Laurence Olivier as Maxim.

These are mostly B&W -so maybe a bit too old, but all good films.

The Sting, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Cool hand Luke - if you like a bit of Paul Newman.

amber well done- own hair is a big step forward, bet it looks lovely !

graciesmall09 · 09/07/2012 16:49

Can I come out of my room now topsy I is very sorry for being naughty Grin. He shouldn't have been listening anyway and the other woman wasn't getting a picc line as I heard the nurse say she was for a canula (nosey? me? never). Serves me right anyway my arm is a bit ouch but then my procedure was much more risky than Topsy's Grin.

I had such a laugh, Topsy is as witty in real life and I got to meet the lovely mini Topsy's who are very well mannered must take after Mr Topsy Grin

amber sure you look fab with your own hair. Is it growing back much different to pre chemo?

Happy birthday to mini sparkle. Hope a fab day is had by all.

The school situation sounds a bit rubbish sometimes and smee. When my little ones have been changing classes they have been allowed to name a couple of people who they would like in their class and so far so good. It has been different though at 'big' school as they are graded from Year 9.

kurri hope you now have your prescription and you can get some ease.

sometimes hope your back appointment goes well.

autumn what a time you are having. The biopsy sounds pretty horrific but hopefully with time your memory of it will fade. Very unmumsnet hug to you.

Kiddies heading away tomorrow to grandparents for a few days to coincide with no 5 chemo so off to pack some bags.

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/07/2012 16:51

oh bum- cross with ds for not telling his singing teacher he'd miss his final double singing lesson of term because he had a science practical (' I was short of time') I hate rudeness and carelessness like that-grr- he is so vague sometimes-then discovered he still had lunch money in his wallet and was vague about how he paid for lunch today (I had other money~) - gah !
Think I need to lie down

Sometimesiwonder · 09/07/2012 17:14

Hi all!

back appointment was fine, I am signed off unless it starts to hurt more. Hooray!

Three cheers for Amber going in just her hair, Gracie for being lively in the hospital, and KK for better meds.

Lime - my big sympathies on the school planning cock-ups. They never learn. I too hope Smee junior gets better: his school do sound as though they try, at least. But on the plus side, I have to report i was wrong about us getting the bully again, Hooray!!!!! Wine Wine Wine

LimeJellyforBrains · 09/07/2012 17:44

That's great news all round Sometimes! Enjoy your Wines!

Amber well done, you! I'd bet you look lovely. The next time (tomorrow?) should feel much easier x

MAS go and lie down with a good book Wink and a medicinal Wine x

Sometimesiwonder · 09/07/2012 18:17

NedSchneebly · 09/07/2012 18:19

Great news about being signed off from the back doc, and also to not getting the bully sometimes ! Definitely worth a Wine

MAS sorry T aggravating you. Hope you enjoyed Wine from sometimes!

gracie can't believe you're on number 5 already! You're definitely on the homeward run now x

gig how about sherlock tv series on iTunes? Anything to enjoy the lovely mr cumberbatch. . . The Bourne films are good too - have recently rewatched with DH. Or mamma Mia Blush

amber great news on th hair. My fuzz regrowth seems to have stalled somewhat. Am impatient for it to keep growing, as, according to DS, I won't be "properly better" until I have hair again. . . !

kurri sounds great. PM me when you know your plans Smile

Got to put very grubby DS in the bath - had PE outside today. He's in a grump because he's a) shattered b) missed his swimming lesson because he had a massive nosebleed in the car going to pool so they wouldn't let him in Sad

Waves to all x x

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/07/2012 19:15

LimeJellyforBrains · 09/07/2012 21:06

Aw Ned - poor ds and his nosebleed. And so sweet about mummy's hair!

Waves back to Mas - don't like to disturb you when you're not feeling all that, but I am post number 986 !

Unless someone else fancies doing the honours? Not me Blush.

amberlight · 09/07/2012 21:09

Gracie, it was v different after chemo, yes. Mine started to regrow during docetaxel (weird!) but came through v fine and frizzy (and it used to be thick and straight). It's taken a year to get it to start growing through straighter, and now it's almost as thick as it used to be. I got it highlighted after six months off chemo and that was fine.

Ooo, Wine ! Splendid.

'Evening all.

Arrgh, I'll get those sentences the right way round one day...

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/07/2012 21:12

thanks lime - shall I see to it now, before we over run ?

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/07/2012 21:12

meant to say, my head is spinning as I have to do a card with about 30 people on it- crikey !!

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/07/2012 21:14

push the trolley this way

AutumnSummers · 10/07/2012 10:11

Morning all!

Amber GREAT news about your hair!!

My mind is to be taken off of this rubbish by a new telly! Our old one broke and the 4 kids have been huddled round a portable beating each other to death. Hubby, in his infinite wisdom, decided to add to the joint debt with a mahoosive flat screen smart telly. It'll be nice to have a shot of one but if things go down the toilet he'll likely take it with him. I remember when we broke up about a year after getting together. Fucker kept my telly then too lol

Darla and Xander are away with MIL today for 3 day thank GOD so it's just us and the babies, who are no bother. Thing will slow down for that period which is good.

everyone keeps telling me to carry on cause I have to. I've bot my lip for months about how I feel about all of this. I really don't know how much longer I can do fake calm. I'll just put some episodes of Angel on the big telly. Tis the biggest cure to any woe :)

AutumnSummers · 10/07/2012 10:11

gig Good luck today xxx

AutumnSummers · 10/07/2012 10:22

All the best to you today too gracie :) x [unmumsnetty hugs back]

Gigondas · 10/07/2012 10:24

Thanks autumn - enjoy a more peaceful time with the babies and some therapeutic tv watching. And come and join us on new
