Is very quiet, Topsy I agree. Do you think we haven't been invited to Little Old Lady Dog's party and everyone else is howling at the moon with her?

Go grab that wrench I reckon. You have the wisdom, c/o YouTube, what can possibly go wrong...?! Grin

I have just ordered us a Thai takeout. mmm.... Smile

topsyturner · 07/07/2012 21:13

Hmm , are you going to pay for a plumber and my insurance excess when I flood my house then ?
Grin

topsyturner · 07/07/2012 21:13

And yum yum to the Thai !

KurriKurri · 07/07/2012 21:14

I'm here Grin - old lady dog got a charity cuddly elephant, and a pink ball - she is very chuffed (If a little possessive and not quite ready to share Grin)

Party food was chicken Ceasar with added pasta and tomato -

Thai take out sounds v-nice Smee - I couldn't be bothered to cook tonight, so we just had dips, raw veg and some nice warm brie and cranberry bread.

Good luck with the tap topsy - I know all the words to the 'I can't get the bastard off, I need a massive tool' song Grin

KurriKurri · 07/07/2012 21:14

charity shop elephant

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/07/2012 21:15

I'm not at little old lady dog's party ! We had nice swordfish and prawn stir fry (thanks dh) Hope your Thai take away is yum.
Good luck with tap topsy !

Gigondas · 07/07/2012 21:16

Ohh did someone say takeaway?

Been busy with sis and bil who came to visit which was nice.

Am hoping for better night with dodgy shoulder tonight.

Lime - thank you for your kind words xx And sorry DS2 was upset about class changes - it's so hard for children when they do that Sad - at least you have found out he has a couple of chums in his class - hope he's feeling a bit more cheerful now.

Gigondas · 07/07/2012 21:25

Sorry Blush meant to post as I am glad that ds has some people he knows. What is the rationale about shuffling classes? Was stuck in same ones through infant, junior and secondary (until sixth form) so a bit Confused as to logic.

OP posts:
smee · 07/07/2012 22:51

Thai was indeed mmmm... though am now feeling stuffed, but tsk, Topsy. Plumbing's easy. You just have to believe in yourself woman. Go grab the wrench, but remember to don a mac first. Grin

Kurri, glad to hear Lady Dog had a nice day. I like the sound of your cranberry bread, though will pass on the party food thanks. Grin

I missed that about your poor DS, Lime. I never get why teachers don't think it through more. Surely they can at least give the kids a list of who's in which class. We have all that next week, though atm, DS is remarkably nonchalant. We don't even know who's teaching in his year yet. I have a feeling we'll get new people, as apparently at least 3 teachers are leaving and two of those are going off travelling. Curse of living in inner London, means you get hip young things who disappear in search of adventure.

Gig, hope you sleep tonight. Shoulder sounds so sore. xx

Tennis on the tv. I don't like centre court having a roof. In the good old days they had to stop playing at 7pm. Must have missed the sports gene. DH most definitely has it though. Hmm

topsyturner · 08/07/2012 10:21

Little Ailligh passed away last night .
May your journey be peaceful little one x

KurriKurri · 08/07/2012 11:19

Such sad news this morning, - bless little Aillidh, may her journey be serene and filled with the scent of flowers and the warmth of love.

Gigondas · 08/07/2012 12:04

I know- poor aidilh and thinking of her family.

Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday. It is going to get messy here as big gig is doing a glitter tattoo on her big sis (dh refused to have one which was mean spirited of him Grin).

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 08/07/2012 13:57

I think your Dh should be forced to have a glitter tattoo and have his nails and hair done Gig Grin

We've carted a load of rubbish tot he tip today - it feels quite cathartic to declutter. Off to watch the tennis now - DD has gone with a friend to watch it in 3d on a big screen in the city.

Gigondas · 08/07/2012 18:22

Ooh. Clear up always therapeutic. Have been Doing my clothes.

Feel a bit meh still as shoulder still bit wearing.

Also worried as lost a couple of kilos and dont want to get it in neck at weigh in on Tuesday pre chemo. That stupid bloody woman comment nagging me (thanks for reassurance - I should know better as she has form for being tactless/daft).

Also it looks pretty clear that dh and kids will be on holiday for 2 1/2 weeks without me in August. It's sort of my fault as i said go as it was booked/they need a break/likely last year that big kids will want to go too. But feel a bit abandoned (will be fairly difficult to go even for a few days) although my sis and dad will be around if required its not quite the same. Sad

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 08/07/2012 18:29

oh gig that's a bummer
Forget stupid woman's comment too. Will the weight loss matter do you think ?
Pesky shoulder... my neck is aching from leaning over my desk -probably totally ergonimcally wrong..nearly finished your picture, just need to do some finishing touches !

KurriKurri · 08/07/2012 18:51

That's a shame about the holiday Gig, can you plan something nice with your sister and your Dad? - any chance you and DH and the girls could get away for maybe a weekend break or something later in the summer?

I think a bit of weight loss is normal and acceptable, - they might try to get you to boost up your calories a bit, but I think they will be fine about going ahead with your chemo - I think you'd have to lose a very big amount for them to change track on your treatment plan. Ignore f*witted woman's comment, - what does she know about anything? Even someone who has had chemo can't say how your chemo will affect you. I think you've done really well on your first cycle - and that's the important contributing factor to how your second will go.

MAS - wrong desk height is one of the worse things for shoulder pain - I find I always get a bad shoulder if I sit at my desk, can you adjust with cushions to lift you up a bit?

I meant to ask you what happened about the card you were doing where you were given the wrong name? - was it a misspelling they gave you, or a totally different name? - hope you managed to sort it out!

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/07/2012 19:09

Am not sure how to make working position better - could try cushions !
I managed to rescue the picture with wrong name by cutting it out and mounting the correct name behind , so it's kind of framed -it looks fine I think -I wouldn't really want to re draw the entire thing again Grin

Figgyroll · 08/07/2012 19:30

Evening everyone. The sun's come out!!! At 7.20pm!! A bit bliddy late imo. Smile

KK, horrified at your sis and nephew. What an odd family they are, but such a shame it impacts on you and your mum. Hope Oldladydog had a sooper dooper birthday and enjoyed her treats. 15 is a grand age for a ladydog.

Gigs, take no notice of silly mum. What does she know? I didn't particularly feel any different after 2nd chemo. In fact, it was reassuring to know I was following a pattern in side effects and could plan accordingly. Also grrrrrr about nanny. Not long till she's gone. Deep brefs.

MAS, hot bath might help. Have a long soak in something that smells heavenly.

Topsy, still giggling at DH's not-big-enough tool. Poor man!!! Grin. Love the dress, gorgeous colour and shape.

Smee, agree about the roof. A bit cross with DH. He knows I love the final and I still had to make Sunday dinner. Next time there's an important footie match on I shall make him make the dinner!!!

I've had a busy weekend, visiting, cooking, moving furniture about and shredding with our brand new garden shredder. Bumped into a 'friend' today who I hadn't seen in years and she thought I'd had my hair permed. I'm not ready for the 'little old lady' look just yet so will have a play with the straighteners tomorrow. I'm also going swimming after work - I've been studying breast stroke (Grin) and crawl on Youtube so I can get the feet technique right. I think I've got it. Whether or not I remember it is another matter.

Have discovered the joys of Aldi wine (Aldi being voted Which supermarket of the year) and would share if there was any left. Sorry!!!! DH and DSs are impressed with Aldi yoghurts, pizzas, meat and cider so I may change allegiance. Smile

topsyturner · 08/07/2012 19:57

DH has given up with the new tap .
Despite buying 2 new big tools (ooh er) he can't budge the old tap .
So he has admitted defeat and asked me to call the plumber tomorrow !

Gracie are you still getting your picc done in the morning ?
Where is perfusion services ?
I shall be getting to BCH around 8/8.15am , so shall grab a couple of lattes and gate crash your arm butchering party !

topsyturner · 08/07/2012 19:58

You are lucky getting sun Figgy , it's done nowt but rain all day here ...

smee · 08/07/2012 20:01

Belatedly dropping in to see the sad news about Aillidh. The house is peaceful now, as DS in bed and DH not here, so I will go downstairs and light a candle to send her on her way.

Gig what a shame about the holiday. I think you need to plan treats. And am piling more fbs onto the trolley for you to help with weight loss. Bag of Dolly Mixtures and a Tub of Haagen Dahz. Smile

Waving to Figgy, MAS, Topsy, Kurri and all. Sun's shining here too. Bit late, but still nice. Smile

Gigondas · 08/07/2012 20:10

Thanks for pep talk- have fbs now (galaxy counters ) so feeling better Smile.
Also only a few pounds but am paranoid about weight loss at moment.

Grin at dh and his tools topsy. You make your trip to hospital tomorrow look like a couple of naughty schoolgirls with gracie.
