Drift - I agree with sometimes, - it is most likely a routine check up - they will want to see you every six months approx. for a while. Nice to see you again - how are you doing?

Very humid here, but dry at least so I've been able to get out in the garden - until my head got too hot and itchy, but have weeded a flower bed and potted up some aubergine plants.

ned - great that DS has another tooth - well done to him Smile and that dentist is pleased and has given you a time frame for his denture.

jchoc - will sit on the paranoia box for you, - work does sound very stressful atm, and you have so much on your plate with your mum being poorly, - take care of yourself xx

Smee - I'm sure tamoxifen affects weight, - it's so annoyingm you get through the cancer treatment and then have to deal with weight problems (not that I think you have a weight problem, you are very slim, - but I definitely have!)

topsy - hope the wound is improved - its been a bugger hasn't it? gracie - hope the pain in your calf eases soon, - I'm glad you and topsy both managed to escape the flooding.

Figgy - I've heard good things about myfitnesspal - well done for sticking with it Smile

MAS - hope the cold is a bit better today.

Thanks for good wishes for friends DH, he'll be in hospital a while I think, - his job is photographing people doing parachute jumps -so he parachutes down close to them - and his parachute somehow deflated - got caught up in itself - 30 ft from the ground - Very scary.

My mum is ninety today Smile - she has had lots of presents sent, and will have a cake later.

jchocchip · 28/06/2012 13:23

waves to drift :) I'm a couple of months ahead of you - had a check up a few weeks ago. Just admiring their handiwork and seeing that you are ok. Think of any questions you want to ask.

Tell that boob to heal a bit faster, topsy. Have you started on the honey dressings?

Thanks for all the paranoia sitting and Brew At work today, so must dash.

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/06/2012 13:42

happy 90th to kk's mum ! hope she has a lovely day and isn't feeling in too much discomfort.
A glad that topsy and gracie aren't drowned- how scary.
Gig eek, yummy mummy is a term I loathe (though of course you are gorgeous and young !)
Am desperately trying to get to grips with an urgent picture which always makes me nervous- in the middle of starting all over again my dad knocked on my door with friends we haven't seen for many years (live in Australia now) so had to stop and go and chat (also noticing that Celeste had coughed up grass on the stairs-nice) The fairly awkward thing, apart from wanting to go back upstairs and get on was the fact that the last time I'd seen the husband was when I was twenty something and he'd taken me out to dinner and then propositioned me Shock I was very [shocked] and refused naturally- he is my dad's age-I'm younger than his own daughter !I'd felt uncomfortable about going out to dinner anyway but did out of politeness. Didn't tell my parents of course.Anyway, have now got a terrible headache !

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/06/2012 13:44

waves to drift -yep,that sounds like a surgical check up - just an examination and they'll ask how you're doing/any probs- usually do this every six months for a few years.

Sometimesiwonder · 28/06/2012 14:39

Happy 90th to Mrs KK senior! I hope she can do something enjoyable despite her pain, and the loss of your dad, KK.

MAS Shock What an old lech! Grin

Dd's school camp is postponed: the deluge we have just had has proved the final straw. Or, possibly, the massive hailstones have punched holes in the fabric of the tents, which were put up yesterday Sad Weirdly, the sun is now out and it is as hot and steamy as a bloody sauna Hmm

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/06/2012 14:43

poor dd sometimes -hope she's not too disappointed.

Sometimesiwonder · 28/06/2012 15:00

Thanks! Smile

She is as bouncy as a bag of tennis balls at the moment, so I suspect she'll recover Grin

LimeJellyforBrains · 28/06/2012 15:10

MAS - how unsettling for you! and bad timing vis your urgent job - good luck with that and hope the headache goes quick x

KK Hope your mum has a lovely 90th. I'm sure she will love your painting x

Sometimes - poor dd! And hope those massive hailstones steer clear of my ds2's school camp - 2nd and last night tonight! Shock Weather still sunny but v muggy here. (Herts)

Plastered a big fake smile on my face while waving him off yesterday like this Grin. Think it fooled him - he was looking a bit Sad but then managed to smile and wave as they set off.

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/06/2012 15:21

aw lime -am sure it'll all be fine for him Smile - brave mum x

KurriKurri · 28/06/2012 15:23

MAS - old man and dinner propositioning sounds grim Shock

Hope DD's camp is on again soon Sometimes, - what a shame about the tents.

I'm sure Lime junior will have had a nice time Lime Smile - hope they haven't got soaked, but he's done very well to go on the trip even though he was a bit apprehensive, and next time he'll be that bit more confident Smile

smee · 28/06/2012 17:08

Those hail stones sound terrifying. Good job the kids weren't in the tents when it hit, Sometimes. Shock

Lime, I'd bet he's had a fantastic time. Be a massive confidence boost for him and you'd have heard by now if he wasn't coping. Smile

Ned, that's good news on ds's teeth then. Does it mean they'll probably never come through, so he hasn't got any, or he has them and they'll just be really slow?

Happy 90th to Kurri's Mum. Hope her leg's not stopping her enjoying the day. When do you think you'll get down there, Kurri? Are the shingles on the way out??

Drift, I agree with the others. I'd bet you'll find it's reassuring. Nice to see you back here. Smile

MAS, yeurk that man sounds creepy. Not surprised you have a headache.

Topsy, hooray for breast improving. Must be grim having dressings on still if it's humid over there. What's with all the cleaning?! Sounds ott to me. Grin

Gracie, I think ache is probably just normal chemo knock on, but why not call your unit and describe it. They'll tell you if you need to worry.

Gig, trip to Greggs sounds essential. Nanny 1 sounds a right pain. Hope she's more cheery by now.

Got one of DS's friends here. They're playing chess as both reckon they've never been beaten. DS has only ever played me and his Grandmother. I'm useless and she suffers from Alzheimers so is even worse than me. I think he might be in for a shock. Grin

LimeJellyforBrains · 28/06/2012 18:14

Crikey Sometimes! Your hailstones have made national news! Size of 50p pieces they said. Thank goodness dd is at home safe and well. x

And Sparkle - hope you are safe and dry where you are in Shropshire!

Smee hope DS survives the chess tournament! Lovely that they are playing that rather than computers. Almost too hot for running around outside.

smee · 28/06/2012 18:35

Daftly hot here. Would like some rain, though those hail stones sound terrifying. Am off for a cycle to a swim am hoping it will cool me down. DS lost at chess. He was v.gracious about it though, so all is well. Smile

jchocchip · 28/06/2012 19:34

Wow - must be the year for big hailstones. Would like to go for a swim, but have to go out for a run, aargh.

smee nice that your ds was a good loser - that is so important.

Friend from work is starting chemo next week.

jchocchip · 28/06/2012 19:39

Figgy, I like myfitnesspal too 27lb lost since September It is much easier to lose if you have loads to shift like me though, the last few lbs are the stubborn ones by all accounts. I like the way you have to eat extra when you exercise too. Which is why I must force myself out for that run.

Sometimesiwonder · 28/06/2012 20:09

Hooray for ds being a good loser, smee - that's an important life lesson, right there Smile

Line - your ds will have been fine, and will be so proud of himself, just you see.

The hailstones were unreal - and, down in the village, wheelie bins were bobbing down the flooding in the main street Shock

Gigondas · 28/06/2012 20:18

Tired tonight as neck pain/malfuctioning smoke alarm kept me up so can someone reach fbs for meGrin

Oh and talking of neck pain , nanny1 had an emotional outburst (crying and ranting about how she can't do anything right and we all hate her...) which I could do without .

However can I suggest that we add the Cadbury bubbly chocolate mascots to the fbs trolley I scoffed up tried some for big gig party in the selfless name of research and they are bloody lovely.

LimeJellyforBrains · 28/06/2012 20:24

Oh dear, oh bugger. Have had call from camp. DS2 didn't get much sleep last night. Struggled through today. Is now refusing to take part in activities and adamant that teacher had to call me and I would go to collect him. We have decided to give it another hour. He will have an early night and the boy who kept him awake last night has been moved. I so hope he can last out - so important for his self esteem. I want him to be proud of himself, like you say, Sometimes. I was expecting to get him back in bits tomorrow, but I really wasn't expecting this Sad.

smee · 28/06/2012 20:30

I discovered them first, so hands off. I bought some for my friend's twins last week and scoffed both packs before they got them. mmm..

Back from swim. Was lovely. Or rather the after glow's lovely. Have just watched clip of hail stones. Brought back memories of being about 7 and a massive hail storm at home - me and my brother daring each other to go further and further out into the garden to see who could get the biggest hail stone. Did your DD see it, Sometimes? Bet it was quite something.

DH watching footie. Again. Sigh..

NedSchneebly · 28/06/2012 20:56

Evening all Smile

lime hope DS can stick with it. As you say, he'll feel proud if he lasts til the end.

smee DS may or may not get any more teeth. He now has 4 in a row at the front of his top gum, so once the two newest ones (on either side) are capped, he'll look more "normal" and slightly less like a beaver, as he does at the moment! His natural teeth are shaped like pointy fangs, so he has had the middle two capped already, to look like square teeth. If he doesn't have any adult teeth, he will keep these baby teeth all his life. We'll just have to wait and see what comes. Consultant was reluctant to X-ray, so we don't know what's lurking in his gums.

gig sounds like nanny1 needs a bit of a slap. . . Sorry to hear your neck is sore tonight. Hope you can get a bit more sleep tonight. When is your next chemo?

Happy birthday to mummy kurri hope she had a nice day, despite everything x x

sometimes those are pretty scary hailstones! Hope you are OK and DD not too disappointed to miss out on camp.

Waves to MAS, figgy, gracie, topsy and anyone else around this evening x x x

NedSchneebly · 28/06/2012 20:58

jchoc just spotted your post. That is pretty awesome weight loss

KurriKurri · 28/06/2012 21:16

Well done on that weight loss jchoc - that is very good going indeed - you've got great willpower.

Lime - sorry DS is struggling - it's miserable if you can't sleep properly, I hope he manages to hang on, but if not, he did one night and that's an achievement, he gave it a good go, so he should be proud.

Ned - your Ds is a brave little chap to get through all that dental work, bless him.

What are these olympic chocs? - I haven't seen them, but I feel I may have to sample them - just to be patriotic you understand.

DH also watching footie - he keeps sucking his breath in sharply through his teeth every time anything happens, - its very irritating.

smee · 28/06/2012 21:20

Oh no - x-posted Lime. Really hope he makes it through the final night. How annoying about that other boy keeping him awake. Sad

Ned, that's quite a lot to get your head round then. I hope there are more lurking under the gums. Wonder when you'll find out. Have they said?

Gig, yes sleep well. Nanny1 sounds incredibly self obsessed. Can't you just keep Nanny2?

Jane, did you run? Am so impressed by anyone who runs. How far are you from target weight then? Doesn't sound like you can be all that far.

LimeJellyforBrains · 28/06/2012 21:24

Latest is ds has been put to bed. I hope he gets a good night's sleep and can enjoy tomorrow Smile. Please send peaceful sleepy vibes, I have great faith in your powers!

Yes I meant to say jchoc what a fab weight loss! Well done you! I have had a look at MFP but haven't got to grips with it yet! I am worried I already spend far too much time on t'internet and this would mean even more. Do you enter what you eat through the day or all in one go?

Hmm, these bubbly chocs sound yum I need them to soothe my nerves! Confused

smee · 28/06/2012 21:48

Am sending lots of zzzz for little-Lime. They will work am sure. Smile
