Great news gigs good to see they recognised your hard work. Really humid here too I have all the windows open but there is no air. Was pouring a while ago as well.

KurriKurri · 27/06/2012 16:17

HUmid here too, bonus sounds like a Very Good Thing Gig Grin - you will be able to buy some very big fbs with that.

topsy - banks make me want to scream rude words down the phone - I have also fallen foul of the security questions as in once when I applied for a bank account and they said they'd send the card but didn't, I phoned them and was asked my card number 'I don't know it because you haven't sent it' - 'sorry you've failed the security question you'll have to go into the bank to get your account unlocked Angry' - these places are run by mad people

KurriKurri · 27/06/2012 16:20

OH posted before I'd finished ranting Confused Grin

Sorry you are still feeling rotten gracie, - hope things improve soon, how many days past chemo are you now?

topsyturner · 27/06/2012 16:20

Well done Gigs , the fbs are on you !

Gracie bank says they hope it might be sorted by early next week , so tell DH not to hold out too much hope of getting paid ...

graciesmall09 · 27/06/2012 16:24

kurri 7 days post chemo. I seem to take longer to recover each time, is that normal?

DH will have to be nice to me then topsy as I was paid last week Grin.

topsyturner · 27/06/2012 16:52

Feeeeeeeck !
Just had a 3rd phone call alledging to be from my banks fraud department asking for someone totally new !
We have lived here since the house was built so it's not a previous resident .

Oh I hate all this Sad

topsyturner · 27/06/2012 16:53

And it does build up each time you have chemo Gracie unfortunately Sad

KurriKurri · 27/06/2012 17:28

yes gracie - I think it is normal, chemo does have a cumulative effect, - did for me anyway. But hopefully you will start to pick up soon so you get a bit of a break before your next cycle.

topsy - that's really annoying, and worrying too when you don't know what's going on and its to do with your money.

Just phoned my mum, - she claims her leg is a bit better, I tried to get her to have an x-ray but she wouldn't - think she is fed up of docs and hospitals - who can blame her, but I think if she was really worried she would go. I also think that as well as the pain in her leg, she has lost a lot of confidence in her balance because she's had quite a few falls, so she's very tentative.

Just heard that a friend of mine's DH has had a bad accident Sad Multiple fractures of his legs and shattered pelvis - he going to be in hospital a while, but i think he was lucky to survive actually.

MaryAnnSingleton · 27/06/2012 22:21

wah ! internet off all day as router packed up- dh has found an old one so we have broadband again, but no wireless connection so will have to fight with ds for the computer until replacement arrives- am so horribly behind with everything that I have only been able to skim read - bah !

KurriKurri · 27/06/2012 23:47

Hello MAS - I wondered where you'd got too. Many sympathies, my computer has been playing up today, - but I think its because it's so old and on its way out!

jchocchip · 28/06/2012 05:03

Hot humid and rainy here, hope you are all sleeping better than I am! Spoke to my bcn yesterday, was so surpirised as I expected to just leave a message. Have a list of things to do and she agreed with me about the fluexetine so I have to go back to my gp too. Need to put my paranoia in the box. Will take a turn sitting on it, have a couple of hours before I need go get ready for work... Another collegue at work is off as his dw has had a lumpectomy . Aargh. Friend back from mat leave next week and we would have moved floors this week but for the asbestos they have found... Have new computer and getting set up for new ways of working - very stressful. Bit of stress relief in pub after work Tuesday night. Dd still v upset at break up with bf. I'm rambling...

Figgyroll · 28/06/2012 06:21

MAS, glad you're back online.

Jchoc, work does indeed sound v. stressful. Hope DD gets over the breakup very soon. It's so sad watching them be unhappy.

Lots of Brew available, no fbs though - am being very good and fear of having to put said fbs onto Myfitnesspal is an excellent deterrent. Smile DH and I are both using it as an aid to losing weight and I have to say it's working. The pounds are coming off slowly but surely. Plus it's an incentive to do extra exercise as you can log that too and either use the extra calories as food or not.

Hope everyone is feeling well today and has lots of sunshine to enjoy. It looks promising here.

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/06/2012 07:57

hugs for jane -it all sounds very stressful...sitting on the paranoia box for you too. Poor dd Sad
Going to be steamy hot here too I think- must work though..

topsyturner · 28/06/2012 09:04

Morning All

Big floods here last night .
Thankfully not personally affected , but lots if friends are Sad .

Off to hospital shortly to have a wound check with the surgeon .
Need this bloody thing healed , pronto !

Day 12 of the bank fiasco and still not fixed ...

Sending you all hugs , will read properly later . But for now I have to get my backside off the Internet as I have to leave in less than an hour and I am still in my pjs !

smee · 28/06/2012 09:44

Was wondering if you were flooded Topsy - it was on the news this morning. Gracie are you okay - am hoping you live on a hill??

Jane life sounds mighty stressful. Will join you on the Paranoia box and pour you a Brew Smile

Kurri, your poor mum. She still sounds like she's in pain. And awful about your friend's DH, though as you say he's lucky he's still here.

MAS hooray you're here - does that mean your internet's fixed? Smile

Figgy, what is that then? Is it an app? For first time ever, I am thinking of trying to lose a few pounds (Yes I know I"m lucky!). I've gained a stone and all I can think of is Tamoxifen. I'm not really overweight yet, but if it keeps going steadily up I will be. I know it's trivial in lots of ways, but bloody cancer is most definitely the disease which keeps on giving.

Humid here - DS in a foul mood as he hates this weather so am mighty glad he's gone to school. DH in an equally foul mood, though am not at all sure why. Cat brought me a 'present'. Surely the day will improve... Hmm

Sometimesiwonder · 28/06/2012 10:38

ooch, KK, recovering from a fractured pelvis is a long and painful road, even without the leg fractures. Sad Much patience is going to be needed....

Love to all: I am reading and making sympathetic noises, but I have to go and sort out quite a few things - work, school, and a couple of very dear friends who are not at all well (again) Sad

And it's v hot, which wouldn't be so bad if it was actually sunny. But no, it's raining and thundering Hmm

NedSchneebly · 28/06/2012 10:44

Morning all - very muggy here - threatening rain again, I think. . .

Sounds like everyone is busy, with lots going on. Brew and hugs all round.

Jchoc sounds like you've got so much on your plate at the moment. Take it easy and be good to yourself, OK?

MAS I hate it when our broadband breaks, as my phone internet is so crap. Glad you are reconnected and back with us!

Kurri lots on for you too. . .Sorry your mum is still in pain. could you still persuade her to have an xray? Sorry to hear about your friends DH - hope he can make a speedy recovery.

Smee could you send grumpy DH to school as well?! Hope your day perks up.

gracie I definitely found the effects of chemo to be cumulative. Be gentle with yourself and take it easy.

Topsy fingers crossed for check up today. Angry at bank. I think under the mattress is definitely the way forward. . .

figgy that sounds a good app. might look into it for when I start working out with my marine in September!

Had a positive appointment with DS's new dental consultant in Bristol yesterday. He has finally sprouted his FOURTH tooth!! (for those not in the know, DS has a genetic disorder, where, among other things, means that his teeth have failed to grow) She was very pleased with how his new teeth are growing, and hopes that he might be able to have a denture in 18 months - 2 years time!

Hope everyone has a lovely day x x x

NedSchneebly · 28/06/2012 10:45

X post sometimes take it easy, OK? Not too much dashing about?!

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/06/2012 10:54

Broadband ok now, but no wireless until the new router arrives- am alarmed at how dependent I am !
This humid weather makes me feel cross too- I don't mind warm but sticky is so enervating.
ned hooray for junior ned !
topsy that wound is beyond pesky Sad
smee am sure tamoxifen is to blame - definitely feeling more chubby than before Sad
must get on- there's some Galaxy for the trolley !

graciesmall09 · 28/06/2012 11:08

My goodness what a night! Glad to hear you managed to stay dry topsy. We were ok but not too far away was totally flooded.

ned yay for little ned.

jchoc hugs to you, sounds like a stressful time.

kurri hope your mum gets some ease from pain. It is difficult watching our parents becoming less independent.

Still not feeling great, I know I sound like a hypochondriac but I now have a pain in my calf and don't know whether to be worried or not. Pain is not constant, just sharp pain every now and then. Just another thing to worry about. Sad Don't want to say anything to DH as he is already making noises about cancelling his overnight trip tonight.

Gigondas · 28/06/2012 12:23

Hope you got out the door ok topsy and glad you an gracie escaped floods.

Was accused of being a yummy mummy by nurse who came to do my line , blood test so I feel a trip to gregg and an edition of take a break needed. If nothing else It will get me out the house from nanny1 who is sulking again...

Ned yay re ds1 having some good news.

J sorry you aren't feeling so good- I can
Sit on Box for a while.

I have a bunch of healthy fruit and veg bit would imagine some of big gigs chocolate buttons would be more welcome on fbs trolley.

Driftwood999 · 28/06/2012 12:25

Hello everyone.
I've got an appointment with "the Surgeon" next Tuesday. Had a wle November 2011, no node involvement. Tamoxifen.

What is this appointment for/what can I expect? Hearing your experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I dread hospitals.

Sometimesiwonder · 28/06/2012 12:52

Hi Drift - good to see you again.

I'd imagine this is just a routine check-up. They'll take a look, have a feel and ask how you are doing.

It is as black as night here, and the hail stones are as big as my fist. Hope the roof windows can take the onslaught, otherwise we will drown in the torrent of water. And I think the Christmas tree in a pot has just landed in the middle of my just-about-to-flower lilies. Sigh.

topsyturner · 28/06/2012 13:07

I'm baaaaa-aaaaack !

Surgeon was so impressed with my boob that she doesn't want to see me for another 4 weeks !
(ok , what she actually said was "sigh , it's healing do slowly it's a waste of time bringing you back any sooner")
Grin

And also when I got home DS went giddy with joy as his much awaited t shirts and hoodies from America have arrived .
He is already wearing one of the t shirts and one of the hoodies , and has buggered off out with his cousin . They are going to visit their old teachers at junior school (they were born 3 weeks apart and have been in every class at school together since)

I have hoovered , am just waiting for floors to dry after their wash , then it's lunch time .
Who fancies what ?

topsyturner · 28/06/2012 13:07

And I agree Drift , def a post surgical check up !
