Aaaargh , bloody hospitals !
Am on hold to the CT dept at the moment
Both CT and Oncology refusing to be the one who budges on moving the apt time for my next apt .
How can I be in 2 seperate buildings at the same time ?
One of you has to give in !

Gigondas · 25/06/2012 10:40

I tell you That you can see why people end up missing out/ giving up on care when you have to do hospital admin. it makes my day job look easy

OP posts:
topsyturner · 25/06/2012 10:59

Now ct aren't answering their phone .
Had to hang up as district nurse arrived .
It's hard bloody work this cancer lark !
Grin

Having a Doritos break now to re group my strength for battling the admins !

smee · 25/06/2012 11:02

Topsy, call the BCN and get them to sort it out. Mine's fab at things like that. She gets mighty stroppy on my behalf. Bloody wound sounds irksome. That soggy vest feeling's grim. Had a lot of that after my last op. yuk.

Gig, I never had too much of a dip post steroids. All that happened was I slept better. Was on different chemo to you though, so that might make a difference. How are you feeling now you're through one round. Does the rest feel a bit less daunting?

Hope Kurri's alright today.

Bread. mmmm.... I have homemade Raspberry jam. Not made by me - would aspire to that one day, but still yum. Might share if you ask nicely. Grin

smee · 25/06/2012 11:04

Lurve the blue ones. Please say they're the blue ones.. Grin

topsyturner · 25/06/2012 11:05

Of course they are the blue ones .
I'm not a savage !
Grin

smee · 25/06/2012 11:13

Phew! Grin

Gigondas · 25/06/2012 11:15

Are there other kinds? You have made me want them now.

Haven't been too bad now home with steroid sleeping but my dose is morning only cos of that. Was like I had wired on red bull tho when had it in hospital.

Agree get Bcn - it's defo time to play the cancer card (I usually reserve this for when I want the tv remote or need dh to get me fbs).

There are the orange cheesy ones too Gig, but those make you feel sick once you've eaten a whole bag. Grin

What's next then? I can't remember how many times you have to go do cycle?

Gigondas · 25/06/2012 13:06

2 weeks off then 5 more so basically assuming no delays I bust jail on last chemo the day I turn 40 30 again Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/06/2012 13:31

that'll be a big celebration then gig !
I am streaming with cold - it's going to make working a bit tricky I fear

KurriKurri · 25/06/2012 13:46

Afternoon all, - topsy - bloody hospitals, why do they always do stuff like that, don't departments communicate in any way when a patient is having different kinds of treatments for the same illness? - madness, hope they get their act together soon for you.

MAS - poor you with a streaming cold, have you got any honey and lemon to drink - I always find that quite comforting, - and some of those tissues with balm in them otherwise your nose will get sore from blowing.

Gig - glad the new nanny is being helpful, - and letting you relax, - nothing worse than people yapping at you when you want to rest Grin - As topsy says keep an eye on the temp., - but it is nigh on impossible with small children to avoid coming into contact with all lurgies, - but you'll hopefully retain a bit of the immunity you will have built up to childhood germs over the last few years.

I'm feeling a lot better today, - pain is much less and I don't feel quite as tired. In fact I have been out for a walk to the village shop, 'Ooh I haven't seen you for a while what's been wrong? Oh shingles, that's nasty, where was it on your face? - oh yes I can see the marks, didn't you have that a while ago, etc etc.' - everyone knows everything about you in a village!!

I'm doing a little painting of some fuschias instead of a card for mum's birthday, - so need to finish it off so I can post it with her present tomorrow.

smee · 25/06/2012 13:59

Does that mean you finish mid September or around then, Gig? Must seem an age away, but honestly the first one's the worst. Will even share Topsy's Dorritos if it helps get you through. Smile

MAS, drat about cold. That's so annoying - somehow colds are always worse in the summer Did I say Summer??

Kurri, sounds like you'll have a better week then. Don't you ever get tempted to misinform the village shop?? Could be fun to start dark rumours..

v.cute man out in next door's garden. DH saying he's doing some rendering and that I should stop looking. Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/06/2012 14:00

glad you're feeling better kk - Grin @ the village grapevine !
What a nice thing to do for your mum - she'll love it I'm sure.
I couldn't find any balm tissues in Boots - was desperate so just grabbed the ordinary ones...I have some mentho lyptus cherry things which might help and ds can have them for his cough.

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/06/2012 14:00

smee !!

Gigondas · 25/06/2012 14:01

Glad you are able to get out even if it is to cause chat ( you are reminding me I need to get back into listening to the archers again kurri]).

topsy and smee your Jedi mind tricks mean I have come back from tesco with big bag of blue Doritos .

But feel I have earned my rest as went out and did an hours Pilates which has definitely helped neck/shoulder.

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 25/06/2012 14:08

any suggestions can set me off and I have to go and buy things- seeing someone's holiday photo of the Matterhorn made me crave Alpen once.
Must be careful I don't get an urge for toblerone now.

smee · 25/06/2012 14:30

Jedi, me?! Grin

KurriKurri · 25/06/2012 14:41

Well done for doing pilates Gig - but don't wear yourself out. good that it helped your shoulder though.

It is like living in the archers here, - everyone knows everything about you - people you haven't told things to somehow seem to know. I should start some false rumours though and see how long they take to get back to me or DH Grin

Reminds me of a thing DS did last year when he was working on local radio - he used to do a sort of Archers spoof called Appledown Farm, set in a village shop, and he played most of the characters - it was quite funny in a silly sort of way Grin

Smee - your Dh is being unreasonable, if there's a cute man around you are entitle to ogle him, - does your house need rendering by any chance?? Grin

I spent £18 in the village shop - on very little because it is soooo expensive, but the couple who run it are very nice, and I do want to support local businesses so I cough up, - was a bit Shock when she told me how much it came to though! (I may have accidentally bought a rather nice lemon cake, I'd better put a few slices on the trolley before it's all gone in case anyone wants some)

Figgyroll · 25/06/2012 17:23
SparkleRainbow · 25/06/2012 18:04

Toblerone. lemon cake and eye candy......what else have I missed.....

have dyslexic fingers today, had to re type this sentence many many (anmy tmies) times!

Gigondas · 25/06/2012 18:15

Did someone say eye candy

OP posts:
SparkleRainbow · 25/06/2012 18:16

smee definitely mentioned eye candy!

SparkleRainbow · 25/06/2012 18:17

who is THAT eye candy then gig?

SparkleRainbow · 25/06/2012 18:22

Not that I can see properly out of one eye, as my contact lens disintegrated in my right eye this afternoon when I was out, and I think it has scratched the surface. Now sporting my school ma'am purple framed glasses.
