I think on your dad it is probably you haven't had a chance to process anything- his dx, his death and then all that has happened to you. I know that I have struggled with mini gig arriving (not that I think arrival of any child is going to be the "same" as eldest/others but it is very different to how I thought). Have you talked to cruse about your dad? I found them very helpful in how to process grief.

You obviously do that in your own way but it was a way for me when I lost ds in pregnancy to work out what was grief for that and what was other feeling stirred up by it all.

Nicely lieing on sofa- may be bed time soon

Handy tip number 237 from Dr Topsy Jane Grin
Feel free to try it with any misbehaving relatives !

Gracie glad DS finally took his meds , but I don't envy you having to get 7 in one day down his throat !
I can understand you not wanting to be in your dads house , I dont think you have really begun to grieve over him though .
I think getting this kind of diagnosis puts everything on hold doesn't it ?

Watching tonight's eastenders , DH is shouting at Janine not to rip up the pre nup . Don't think he gets that it's not real !
Grin

Morning All

Last post at night , first post in the morning

Anyone agree I spend too much time on the interweb ??? Grin

topsyturner · 23/06/2012 09:09

Dagnammit !
Hit that damn post button again !

Taking DD to a clay modelling birthday party this morning .
Need to leave by 10.30 , so I should really be getting dressed and not pissing about on the computer Grin

I am officially affected by the Nat West computer glitch !
No money went into my account this morning (there was actually meant to be some for once Grin )
Good job I'm not reliant on it to feed my family like some poor people out there .

The Northern Irish arm of Nat West (Ulster Bank) kindly let its customers know that they would be staying open longer hours so that they could access their money .
Neglected to tell people that it was only 1 branch in the centre of Belfast , and only till 7pm last night !

Some poor techie somewhere in the Nat West group is for the high jump I would think ...

Figgyroll · 23/06/2012 09:57

Morning all. What a lot to catch up on.

Topsy, ouch about skin. I had that happen too with scar until nurses used wet silver dressings with pad on top, then adhesive plaster on top of that. It eventually healed although the skin is wafery thin and delicate so I still use a wad of gauze dressing between bra and skin. Loved DS's drawing. Talented lad.

Great news about your scan, Lime. What a huge relief. Now to get your neck sorted.

Gracie, my dear mum passed away 3 days before my diagnosis and of course both events left me reeling. I still feel, over a year and a half later, that I haven't grieved properly so don't be surprised at how you're feeling - just go with the flow, as they say and be prepared for those days when you're feeling sad. Hope the Movicol has the desired effect soon - I bet you don't get up to the 7 a day. I find it works after about 3 or 4 a day.

Gig, glad you're home with your littlies. Hope you're taking things easy.

KK, sorry to see you're still suffering with the shinglythings. I hope they bugger off soon.

Having a quiet day in to recover from school trip yesterday. We went to the seafront, walked along the pier (train back) then to the sealife centre. It was blowing a gale and I still have sand in my mouth despite trying to flush it down with Wine last night. Grin

Waves to Smee, MAS, Basket, Sometimes, Ned, JChoc and everyone else. Love to you all. Thanks

Gigondas · 23/06/2012 10:11

There is no such thing as too much time
On net ..

Feeling ok if tired.. Trying to stop midi gig flying her kite on the patio whilst reclining (what could possibly go wrong with that scenario Grin).

oh thank goodness- broadband up and running again - was in despair...
Must get on with stuff but wanted to say hello !
That link was truly awful gig - his proportions are all wrong..and the pink pants...
Slept really badly- and Celeste balanced on top of me in the early hours as I was lying sideways. Also think I have whatever T was feeling poorly with. Still, nice glasses of wine yesterday evening.
I can second gig's Cruse recommendation - I have nothing but praise for them and received brilliant counselling. Gracie -these things take an awful lot of time to get your head around - it's taken me decades to sort out my feelings about my brother's death when we were children.
Hope ds enjoys his older girl visit smee, bless him. Hugs to kk and waving to everyone

Gigondas · 23/06/2012 14:11

From the neck down that was quite nice Gig !
From the neck up he's a bit young for me .
But heh , who looks at the mantle piece when they're poking the fire ?
Grin

graciesmall09 · 23/06/2012 15:01

figgy mas gigs and everyone dealing with loss hugs to you all.

The movicol is starting to do what it should although DS1 still in pain and moaning like mad . GP told him no sweets, choc, aka rubbish for one month so he is not a happy boy but long over due.

gigs your Alex Reid photo is so wrong. Definitely think he should treat himself to better pants however second link much better. Hope you are continuing to feel ok. I have hit a bit of a wall so I am slouching on the settee.

topsy hope the party went well. Wonder what wonderful creation you will get?

mas hope you are just suffering from bad night's sleep and haven't caught anything nasty.

Hope everyone enjoying their Saturday.

graciesmall09 · 23/06/2012 15:02

Naughty topsy but he is about 3 decades too young for you.

Gigondas · 23/06/2012 15:10

Have you never seen the graduate gracieWink?

Lots of sofa time here too. I have had to donate my heat pack for my shoulder to midi gig zhu zhu hamster that she left out in the garden in the rain... Sadly rain doesn't kill them but they "need heat mum" Hmm

OP posts:
graciesmall09 · 23/06/2012 15:28

Very little kills those wee blighters gigs. The mutt used to have a very good try until hamster accidentally went into the charity bag. Grin

Don't think I have had the pleasure of the graduate maybe I should add that to my must sees.

Gigondas · 23/06/2012 15:48

Hmm an good idea -it's when they start making noises in The toy bag when you aren't expecting it. Very annoying

topsyturner · 23/06/2012 17:28

Takes Ambers Brew and Gigs French France biscuits and swaps them for a nice juicy pear .
Backs slowly away from the fbs trolley ...

KurriKurri · 23/06/2012 18:11

Did someone mention French France biscuits?

I have been up and pottering today - and I do mean pottering - doing a jigsaw, reading a book, taking the washing out of the machine and stuffing it in the dryer - am now flaked out on the bed Grin

Hope everyone is OK, how are you doing today Gig?

Nothing going on here, DD is out with a friend, DH is pootling in the garden and old lady dog is asleep on my feet (looking very smug because she had a past it's sell by date quorn sausage for lunch Grin)

love to all - hope you aren't coming down with a bug MAS, and hope you have managed to get rid of the sand now Figgy Smile

amberlight · 23/06/2012 18:38

Document problem solved!!! Yup.

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/06/2012 19:00

I have some turkish delight thins for the trolley (£1 bargain at sainsbury's)
Am not feeling at all tip top- sore throat and aching but cheery as I had an outing to see the most wonderful garden in the NGS open gardens thing -it was in Haslemere and am very pleased with myself for finding it without a map or anything - oh my,it was lovely, beautiful listed Edwardian house- owned by the parents of poetry editor at Macmillan - I have worked for her a lot (AND she says they have a new book for me to do !!!!!!!) The most joyful thing was meeting her parents current 2 dogs who are lurcher/greyhound/deerhound crosses and taking them for a walk around the garden- I was in heaven.

KurriKurri · 23/06/2012 19:23

That sounds like a fab afternoon MAS - I love looking round gardens and beautiful houses, - and well done on the new book Smile
Sorry you aren't feeling too well though, - how long did it last when T had it?

sandripples · 23/06/2012 19:37

Just dropping in to say hello! And that Link from Gig inspires me to tell you (as I can't remember if I've told you this...) that I'm going to the Olypmics and we've got tickets for Fencing!! and basketball. So I will look out for this Italian chappie!

I only bought the tickets recently so am very excited.

My DS did his last A level yesterday and has LEFT SCHOOL - feels very odd, and I'm only just keeping a lot of emotion under control!

Gig - I haven't read back on all the thread but suspect you've started chemo so I do hope you're bearing up.

And all good wishes to all.

Gigondas · 23/06/2012 21:00

Waves at sand ripples . It's disco night chez gig as we have totp 2 and some of those 70s music shows on the recorder.
