Gig x posted. Friend sounds flakey. Can't believe she didn't even text though. Hmm

LimeJellyforBrains · 22/06/2012 14:10

Had latest 3-monthly check-up with Doc this morning (altho not the Doc I was expecting, heyho). Bone scan was CLEAR! Was worried because they did my neck/head twice, from different angle. Was expecting at least arthritis (certainly is achy/crunchy enough) but no mention of anything adverse Grin. Winelater for sure!

smee · 22/06/2012 14:29

OOh, hooray... Am doing my sideways Cartwheels for Lime. Smile Smile That must be a massive relief.

LimeJellyforBrains · 22/06/2012 14:51

Watch it Smee, you'll do yourself a mischief! Smile Thanks, yes I was worried. Am sure something is actually 'wrong' with my neck, cos of how it's been feeling lately, but as long as it's not official I can continue to ignore it!

Hope Gig has had edible lunch and exit papers! x

Topsy, what a bugger about your wound Sad, that's a literal and figurative pain! Hope new dressing does the business x

MaryAnnSingleton · 22/06/2012 14:55

hooray for lime !!! baskets am mightily impressed with cartwheels ! Grin -v glad about cautiously good news too
gig grr about friend - people can be really odd.
Am soaked having gone to town to post a copy of the Radio Times (last week's with David Tennant) to friend in USA -she is a fan-also bought a few weekend supplies (giant choc buttons !) Might stick a bottle of wine in the fridge too. Am going to wander over to parents for a glass or two this evening.

Sometimesiwonder · 22/06/2012 14:57

Backflips for Lime!!! xx

graciesmall09 · 22/06/2012 16:38

Wonderful news lime now you can relax and have some Wine later.

Cautiously good news for your too baskets. Hope you consultant appointment comes through twice and you get your nausea improved. I could slip you some of my lovely anti-sickness meds but they do come with warning that naked cartwheels/posing is a side effect, oh an lovely round fat moon face comes with the territory too.

jchoc hope you have a less stressful weekend.

Took DS to the doctor. Waste of time insofar as he told him exactly what I have been telling him for years and prescribed MOVICOL! Came home and spent 20 minutes trying to get it down him. He wouldn't even take a sip. So after 20 minutes of him huffing and puffing, I threw it down the sink, banned the x-box so we shall see if that encourages him to wise up Angry.

graciesmall09 · 22/06/2012 16:39

Oops loads of typos in my last post (blame the stress of Movicol boy and my high doses of anti-sickness). I have gone slightly doolally.

Gigondas · 22/06/2012 17:11

Grr re ds but x box deprivation usually effective Wink

On train home now GrinGrin

KurriKurri · 22/06/2012 18:29

Quick post from me to say hello to all

Hooray for being home Gig - theres some good decent food and a decent nights sleep with your name on it I suspect Grin How are you feeling atm? hope sickness has been kept at bay - not everyone suffers with sickness, fingers crossed you will avoid it Smile Give those gorgeous girls of yours a big cuddle Smile

Lime - brilliant bone scan news - big relief for you, and good that you got it checked to reassure yourself.

Baskets also hooray for your scan ruling out nasties - that's good news. I understood what you meant about the oatmeal Grin - Will try it in my bath tonight.

gracie - impressed with the cartwheels, I can do them too in my dreams Grin Hope Gp was able to sort something out for DS.

Love to everyone and a good weekend. I slept until one o'clock today - took an antihistamine yesterday and it knocked me out completely - it was actually a cyclizine I had left over from chemo Blush - it was still in date though, I had it for sickness then but I knew it was also an antihistamine, - just forgot that it knocks you unconscious the next day!

Still not feeling up to much - maybe things will improve over the weekend.

topsyturner · 22/06/2012 18:31

Aaaaaaaargh !
My eyes !
Gig you really shouldn't be allowed access to the interweb !

Proud mummy moment here .
DD has just announced her new fave song is Big Girls by Myka (when you understand her previous fave was I Kissed A Girl by Katie Perry you may understand my relief !)

And DS , who is very arty , has taken to cartooning recently .
I have just put a pic of his latest self portrait up on Facebook , as I think he's quite good .

As you were Grin

topsyturner · 22/06/2012 18:33

Ex posted kk .
Hope you start feeling better soon , and yeehah for left over drugs !

smee · 22/06/2012 19:05

Yay, Gig's home. Smile Smile Rest up woman. Let them spoil you. That link though - drugs must have got to you.

Am a bit impressed with Sometimes and her back flips. Must be that swanky new spine of hers. Grin

Topsy as your children are a) talented and b) have taste, are you sure they're not adopted? Grin

Blimey Gracie, your boy is stubborn. Surely he's in pain?! Threaten to take him to A&E - that always makes mine take medicine.

Kurri, trust you to take a knock-out one, though maybe you needed the sleep. Hope the antibiotics kick in a bit more and make you better soon.

MAS, have a lovely time with Celeste. Tell your friend I have met David Tennant and he is v. lovely, though I made a complete idiot of myself. as usual Grin

Off to Sainsburys as I have two teenage girls arriving first thing tomorrow as they've got tickets for the R1 Hackney weekend thing. DS v.excited as he adores the one we know (the other's a friend of hers). Wine for all. Save some for me when I'm back from the shops. Smile

topsyturner · 22/06/2012 19:33

Gives Smee a swift kick up the bum for her cheek Grin

Baskets45 · 22/06/2012 19:55

Yay! Gig's home with her girls. Good that midigig hasn't got around to reorganising the house, yet! Hope you have a lovely weekend. Shame about the unreliable friend. Goes with territory of serious illness, i think. Alas.

So pleased LJ's bone scan reassuringly clear. It's such a stressful business waiting for results. Can you maybe get a referral for neck physio?

Kurri, did cyclizine help your itch or were you just too zonked to notice?! Hope the former. Piriton is still best for anti itch properties and v cheap OTC. Hope MrKK doing okay. I think they now test for thyroid etc as 'best practice' where someone presents with depression/stress symptoms. Then they lok at dealing with depression or whatever if all else ruled out.

I got hypromellose eye drops, free from pharmacy. So all good. My eyes feel okayish today, better than some days certainly. Not so good otherwise, very tired again. Just got through the day. No extra jobs. Bed soon.

All this talk of athleticism impressive. And exhausting!! I am off to the spa break cum hen night tomorrow, and somehow to fit in seeing ds4 in a short drama thing mid afternoon. I don't plan to do much, too weary. I have list, will pack in morning.

Have a good weekend, everyone.

xxx

Baskets45 · 22/06/2012 20:04

gracie, wanted to say, I've got my own anti sickness meds so thanks for kind offer!! Hope they don't have that effect on me in spa hotel - if I do anything remotely embarrassing, my SIL will never speak to me again ....

Also a few thoughts on steroids and 'roundness'. I have a friend locally who has to take longterm steroids (she also has autoimmune problems like me, and an ex nurse too, incidentally). She knows I am worried about this. I also know she would prefer not to have gained weight, but she has and she accepts it, all in all has a very healthy attitude to the whole shebang. Something I should try to emulate probably. She has round face typical of someone on steroids, as you alluded to upthread. I look at her though and what I see is my friend's lovely face and smile and lovely personality. That's what people will see in you too.

xxx

KurriKurri · 22/06/2012 20:08

hypromellose are good Baskets - I had them when I had thyroid eye problems, so hopefully they will help you. Enjoy your hen night/spa break - sounds good fun Smile Good luck to DS for his play.

I was a bit too zonked to notice if the itch stopped - but I slept through it so I didn't care Grin but yes piriton is a more sensible suggestion!

Baskets45 · 22/06/2012 20:11

mas, I wanted to say, weeks ago, what a lovely cat Celeste is. I am v allergic to cats, but do love seeing them, from a distance. I wasn't always so allergic - in my youf, i shared a flat with a cat called Tigger. She was lovely too, similar colouring to Celeste. Great name too. Hope you have good weekend.

Away off now, really. I'll postpone my careers advice thread till next week.

Byeee!

jchocchip · 22/06/2012 20:22

I'm home! Phoned Mum and she was very happy with her salmon and spinach pasta that she was eating for tea (result! didn't have time to cycle to Waitrose in Hall Green - and it was p**ing it down - so she has a freezer full of Acocks Green Aldi ready meals!) - detail for the Midlanders in the thread :)

My stupid cat does not learn - just come back in soaking wet again.

Good to be back though. Glad they let you out gig
Hurray for Lime brilliant news - puts the paranoia back in the box for a little while.

Wait till DH gets home , get DH to wrap DS in a towel , and you hold his nose and pour the movicol down his throat ! Just like giving a cat medicine LOL Should I try that with my Mum, too Topsy?

graciesmall09 · 22/06/2012 20:28

X-boxes should be prescribed on the NHS. DH came home reiterated that X-box was banned and gave Drama Queen Movicol with a straw. Did take him 20 minutes to drink up but he did. However, he has taken himself to bed to get out the dishes. Dr told me 1 today, 2 tomorrow and so on until we get to 7 in one day. Not looking forward to the effects of that.

My dad's partner text me the other day to say she had my grandmother's wedding ring, my dad's ring and my grandfather's war medals and my dad had wanted me to have them. Think I will send DH for them as I don't want to go to the house. I feel a bit weird about it all. As there was only 5 weeks between his death and my diagnosis I'm not sure I have grieved or did I just not care, I don't know. Although my parents were separated for over 30 years his death certificate listed him as single but he was still married to my mum. Their separation wasn't even official. Sorry withering on.

baskets enjoy your spa/hen weekend. Hope you aren't too zonked out.

kurri glad you had a good albeit long night's sleep and hoping your DH results come back clear.

I am building myself up for gigs link. Good to see you are home and enjoying cuddles with your girls.

DH gone to walk the mutt in the pouring rain. We can add chemo getting us out of wet dog walks as a positive.
