And I'm really really scared.

Is anyone up to hold my hand and tell me it'll be ok?

Rain just woke me up Smile. Hooray for lovely nurses who make such a difference! Hope the signs of improvement continue. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Consort · 12/06/2012 04:42

Just saw this thread. Thinking of you and your DD. My brother had meningitis as a child. It was very serious, he was in a coma, and he was expected to be affected for life. Happy to say that he made a full recovery, without any lasting damage. He is now married with a family of his own. I know you want to be cautious about getting your hopes up, but very much wishing for a similar recovery for your DD. Glad she's getting caring attention from the nurses.

sashh · 12/06/2012 04:51

Glad she seems to be on the mend - hope you enjoyed the hot chocolate.

twojumpingbeans · 12/06/2012 05:29

Well done lovely nurse! It's the small things that really help. So pleased to read your updates and keeping my fingers and toes crossed that B continues to make a good and complete recovery.

Pastabee · 12/06/2012 06:06

Pleased you are able to comfort her with cuddles and that the staff are looking after you. Praying she recovers quickly.

iscream · 12/06/2012 06:19

Just dropping of some encouraging thoughts for you. Glad there is a thoughtful nurse there, bet that hot chocolate was good. Hope little B kicks that Meningitis's butt soon.
Regarding her rubbing her head. Is she on morphine or something similar for the pain? She will have a migraine, she may not know how to tell you, but she does. I would lay a cool cloth on her forehead, it may comfort her a wee bit.
Thoughts and prayers sent your way.

StealthPolarBear · 12/06/2012 06:55

Saw this thread yesterday, but then had to go and do some work and never got chance to come back.

Glad to hear that things are improving a little for B and I'm sending lots of positive vibes to you all through cyberspace for a speedy recovery.

My nephew had menigitis at 5 days old and was in hospital for 8 weeks, but he's now nearly three and there doesn't appear to be any lasting effects for him.

Have a Brew and a and hope you have a better day today Smile

Glad to see things slightly better, fingers crossed they keep improving.....

KittieCat · 12/06/2012 08:54

Just adding my positive thoughts and get well wishes for B. Remember to look after yourself, too.

Thinking of you and hoping today brings good news.

funnyperson · 12/06/2012 08:55

Fantastic that there is steady improvement. Any results from the CT scan? Get rest if you can while DD is in hospital as she will soon be home to convalesce. Ask the docs for pain relief for her if you think she still has a headache.

lazarusb · 12/06/2012 09:24

Nursing staff can make all the difference, worth their wait in gold. I'm glad your dd is showing signs of improvement, long may that continue.

I hope you are looking after yourself too, drinking, eating, a walk around the grounds now and again. Hope your dh is ok too, is he at work or has he got some time off?

PeanutButterCupCake · 12/06/2012 09:24

Morning mud

How are you both this morning?

Glad the nurses are lovely, makes a huge difference.

Poor B, agree if you feel she is still in pain ask the nurses about stronger pain relief.

I hope you and DH are looking after yourselves too Thanks
