And I'm really really scared.

Is anyone up to hold my hand and tell me it'll be ok?

Good that it is over with. Sounds like a very hectic day for all. Go easy on yourself and your little one. She is still recuperating.
Meningitis trust support is more for you than for your dd I thought. I would suggest to keep them going. You will need them in a month when you are feeling lonely again.
So did the doctor mention the words cerebral palsy then or not?

Stop, I haven't posted since you came out of hospital, but have just read all your updates. I think you've been amazing - we don't know how much strength we have until tested - and I remember feeling proud, at one point, that I'd coped. You should feel proud too. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger - it's very true. B is clearly a feisty chick, with a great Mum. Enjoy each day now.

Just checking in to see how mud and baby B are doing. x

2old2beamum · 18/07/2012 21:31

Mud I think you have been fantastic. Both you and little B have amazed me. I am so envious. My beautiful (adopted) boy was not ?so lucky please enjoy what you have and from what I read you should be so proud of your daughters progress. Don't let any professional put you down. xxxx
PS I have a lot of unresolved issues

StopEatingThatMud · 29/07/2012 22:10

So we've been home a month, when did that happen?!

And life has (wonderfully) taken over, as it does, and I've not been back in a while.

But if anyone is still around, everything is good. I'm good, B is...just fabulous :) Her speech has returned, and some more! She's crawling brilliantly, climbing the stairs again and happily tearing around with her push along walker at any given opportunity. We went and bought her first shoes today so hopefully she'll be making good use of them and taking some big unsupported steps of her own soon.

She's back to nursery this week, I hope she enjoys it! I'm loving being back at work and just, well, being back to "normal" life and routine, long may it continue!

I've said it many, many, times before, but if anyone does come back to this thread at any point, thank you so much for all your support during the darkest times I've ever (and hopefully ever will) been through. I can't yet bring myself to read back through the whole thread but I hope to at some point. Thanks

Lovely to hear that mother and daughter are both doing well, as they say!
Thank you for the update and wishing you both well in future.Smile

beatofthedrum · 31/07/2012 19:10

That is just fabulous, am so so happy to hear that. So very glad you can just enjoy your little girl again x

butterfingerz · 01/08/2012 12:23

Maybe you could get her some vitamin + mineral supplements to help with her recovery. My DC take Eskimo Kids which is a flavoured fish oil (good for brain) and Salus Kindervital liquid which is vitamins. A vitamin D supplement might be good too as that helps immunity, we have a minty D3 spray.

Sorry, someone may have already advised this. My DS has suffered numerous health issues, I find focusing on practical ways I can help him, like diet and vitamins, makes me feel more proactive in his recovery... sometimes you can feel quite helpless when faced with numerous appointments, meds, etc. I do believe good health and recovery starts from the inside.
