Hiya Grin

I'm Bella...

Have about 7lb's to lose before my BiG APPLE trip which is ooooh only a few days to go.

Have had quite a good day food wise, apart from the choc hob nob and glass of wine. No gym today as I am doing extra hours at work invigilating.

How the feck is everyone?

OP posts:
igggi · 15/06/2012 20:26

Jaq you'd better not let them hear you talk like that in your new home!
Anyone got ideas on how to administer gripe water to a one-month old? Have a feeling the spoon approach will be rather messy.

MittzbethSalander · 15/06/2012 20:33

Those little syringes Iggi? Drip it in if necessary..

BitchyInTheCorner · 16/06/2012 00:48

I thought they upped the age limit on gripe water? However, will second syringe method. Infacol was our saviour with ds. How is ds2 a whole month already? Shock time has flown!

igggi · 16/06/2012 08:53

It says from one month on the bottle (this is an alcohol-free version, maybe that's the difference!). So far have had an increase in baby farting and burping, so I think it's working. Suspect I may have mastitis Sad Fed up! Four weeks of lovely baby, but also sleep deprivation, takes its toll!
What kind of saturdays do you all have lined up? (I'm hoping for sleep).

MrsNouveauRichards · 16/06/2012 10:34

Hope you get your sleep Iggi. I used gripe water on ds and it was definitely 12wks (the one I used) as I remember counting down the days til I could usr it as he would get terrible colic from around 6pm til 10pm every night 5 - 13wks.

Got s children's party to go to this morning, DDs good friend from school. We went to her party last year and they are a very churchy family, we all had to say a prayer when they cut the cake, and the music was all Christian rock - yay!:o

YankNCock · 16/06/2012 15:00

oooh igggi, get that mastitis checked out as soon as you can. Hot shower and rub out any lumps (but you probably know/did that already).

We did infacol with DS. Thought it wasn't making much difference, but certainly noticed it got worse when we stopped, so it must have been doing something.

Went to the market in centre of town today and got lots of fruit/veg. So much cheaper there and better quality than supermarkets. I feel all virtuous in a 'supporting local farmers and businesses' sort of way.

DS and I had indian for lunch, just the Sainso's takeaway version, but it was very good considering I haven't had any since at least January.

DH is down 3st 7lbs now. 1 more pound and that's 50 pounds! Crazy.

Lizzylou · 16/06/2012 17:51

Ouch Iggi, poor you. Yes to hot shower and some gentle rubbing. And yes, how is your lovely little newborn 1 mth old already???

Yank, markets are way cheaper aren't they? Well done your DH, blimey!

I think I may have trenchfoot, we did a mammoth 10 mile walk up and down and round a "mountain" v large hill in Yorkshire, was soooo bloody wet and you couldn't see more than about 3 metres in front of you most of the time! UGH.
I will be so glad once this challenge is over Grin

igggi · 16/06/2012 21:06

It's def from 1 month, you've got me paranoid now! I remember drinking gripe water as a teenager as I'd heard it could make you drunk Blush
How was the party MrsR? Sounds like something out of the ordinary!
Yank that's a great loss for MrC. A bit perverse as you have been (unavoidably) gaining weight while he loses it!
I've been to out-of-hours doc, doesn't think it is mastitis but thinks I have a virus. Hmm. Also checked my scar and a bit of it is opening up, yuk. Got doc to agree with me it's probably because I'm doing too much housework!
Lizzy I take my hat off to you for that exercise.

MrsNouveauRichards · 17/06/2012 07:06

Iggi, I believe you :o
I got mastitis with DD and I went from fine to full on flu symptoms within about 4hrs. Lots of water, paracetamol and hot flannel on the sore bit and expressing constantly got rid of it, but I was not well. Luckily DH has seen it in animals so wasn't worried and knew what to do :o

MittzbethSalander · 17/06/2012 09:03

I did smile at trench foot Lizzy. Sounds like a real challenge!

We were mithered by Colic. Sad it really dogged the early months. And I wish I had MN then. I felt so isolated.
Hope you get Mastitis sorted, i is awful to have someting so miserable when you want all your energy to enjoy your squidgey baby... any chance of some photos on Facebook for us to go gooey over?

DS is so much better.
He gets very tired which actually makes me giggle now he is actually better. He is such a hyper bunny and when he crashes on the sofa he reminds me of when he was a toddler!

I went to see Prometheus yesterday, it was fab, cinematic indulgence and I actually leapt off my seat a few times! Smile

I hope all are well Smile xx

nottonitejosefine · 17/06/2012 19:48

Iggi, how are you feeling today?

My diet has been rubbish this week.

Last night we went out for a lovely meal to celebrate our anniversary (this Wed) and we took my parents with us.

I had...

Cornish crab mayonnaise
Fillet Of halibut on crushed pea purée with a lightly curried beurre blanc, a selection of veg and new pots
White chocolate and raspberry mousse
Pink champagne and red wine

Have been to the gym today - I am pretty certain I have not run off a quarter of the calories I ate Blush

nottonitejosefine · 17/06/2012 19:50

Tis me Bella btw.

Trills · 17/06/2012 20:08

Pink champagne must be good for you - I'm not sure how but it must. :o

Lizzylou · 17/06/2012 20:23

YOu've lots of your 5 a day and some fish in there, good work Bella.

Got up early and swam, had to cook DH lasagne and eves pudding (his favourites) and am now blobbing in front of the TV.

Mittz, you may laugh about trenchfoot, but I swear that my hands were so wet and cold that I couldn't open the car door and they were all wrinkly and looked like I'd been in the bath for 4 hours. Which I sort of had.
Saw Gaping Ghyll and a lorra lorra limestone which was very slippy.

YankNCock · 18/06/2012 20:40

I found some leftover Easter chocolate today. 1 guess as to what happened to it.

But I've had loads of fruit--cherries, strawberries, apple, nectarines....so it all evens out, right?

BitchyInTheCorner · 18/06/2012 21:03

Totally Yank Grin

Today have been fairly good food wise:
Breakfast (8:30) - danish cinamon swirl
Lunch (2:30pm) - small baked potato with dairy free spreed and salt - one cup of coffee
Tea (5:30pm) - chicken, steamed veg and boiled potatoes
snack - currently munching an apple.

Drunk lots of water and some squash. Done no exercise though so that isn't so good.

Have you dried out yet lizzy?
How is ds Mittz?

NihilDeclaro · 18/06/2012 23:05

hi all!

tis me

i feel badly off the wagon but am being super good today and yesterday so fingers crossed my motivation is back

i shall go and have a catch up

BitchyInTheCorner · 19/06/2012 16:53

Today is a big fat fail. have just realised I haven't eaten anything other then a handful of chocolate. :( I hadn't even noticed or realised.

Lizzylou · 19/06/2012 18:45

Bitchy! Naughty corner and eat some veg and fruit!
How can you forget to eat??? I will never understand that Grin

Hi Nihil (clues please, or am I being dumb?).

Football tonight, my heart says big win, my head remembers past disappointments. On the plus side it is a win win as I have Ukraine in the work's sweepstakes Grin

Have been good on food/exercise front last few days. Nowt like realising you only have 9 weeks to your holiday to focus your mind Grin

BitchyInTheCorner · 19/06/2012 19:17

Far too easily. I have conditioned myself to not feel hungry anymore. As long as I am busy, i don't remember to eat. Blush This is what i am trying to fix. Review next week I think. Must check. Going to head out for a long walk and see if I can get this low mood to lift any.

Hope you all have a good evening.

Lizzylou · 19/06/2012 19:29

Bitchy, I hope you've eaten before going out doing more exercise! Are you OK??

Getting excited about the football now!!!
Where's Jaq???

BitchyInTheCorner · 19/06/2012 23:31

I ate some tea (chicken dippers and chips, had an apple and got a drink of orange juice whilst out.) Spent most of the day trying to sleep off migraine. Have been in vile mood for ages and just can't seem to get it to lift. No sure what has caused it either.

Reckon i probably ended up walking approx 20miles tonight. someone stole a sign post, and then I missed a turning. 4hours of walking when you only planned on 2 is not bad really. Although I think I got got by the low flying bats so headin for a shower to de-stink.

hurt too much to be in a bad mood right now. Doubt I will be able to move tomo. I forget I am not used to walking this mileage regularly any more. Nice walk though. Would have been better to finish it in daylight too. HmmGrin

YankNCock · 20/06/2012 10:24

Is mumsnet actually not broken now? I haven't posted because I keep losing posts, every time I hit 'post' I get the 'offline for an upgrade'!

MrsNouveauRichards · 20/06/2012 12:42

Hello all.

Had a ridiculously busy couple of days, trying to slow down a bit today. The problem with busy days is they generally lead to crap eating. Had such a shitty afternoon on Monday, the kids had sandwiches for dinner and DH and I had Dominoes and beer.

Feeling a bit chubbly atm, going to try low carbing for the next week or 2, as well as riding as much as possible, we have a 20mile ride coming up on 1st July - eek!

BitchyInTheCorner · 20/06/2012 14:56

That actually sounds nice MrsN. Last night whilst i was walkin I was thinking, actually it would be quite nice to have a bike to ride around these hills. Evening is best time as during the day crazy drivers hog the roads.
