Ned - that all sounds good Smile, great that the margins were clear and there's no node involvement, - now you can relax for the evening Smile - enjoy your Creme egg.

And no, its not selfish to celebrate your good news - why the hell shouldn't you? - you've had a rubbish couple of months, you deserve a bit of celebrating Smile

Hope you get your car back soon MAS, - although £200 costs isn't much fun Sad

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/02/2012 19:25

yay - nothing unexpected then - fab - well done ned. Did they tell you whether it was grade 3 or 2,out of interest ? I think oedema in the breast is usual afterwards-I had some from rads but it's probably gone away now.

NedSchneebly · 02/02/2012 19:46

Rubbish, forgot to ask abut grade. . .will email my GP and get him to tell me when he gets the letter through. They said it was II-III from the biopsy. The tumour was 23mm, so I guess stage 2a? There was also some DCIS as well.

Thanks kurri was thinking of you and your eye results. . . Didn't want to be insensitive. Hope you're OK xxx DH making toad in the hole, so will save Creme egg til later Smile

amberlight · 02/02/2012 19:54

Ned, hurrah, that's pretty good :-)

Driftwood999 · 02/02/2012 19:57

Hi Ned - that all sounds good Smile Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.

smee · 02/02/2012 20:01

Ooh that all sounds pretty good, Ned. Definitely celebrate - feels odd celebrating these things, but you know what I mean. Smile

Kurri, the diaries sound fantastic. How lovely to have access to memories like that. Smile

BackforGood · 02/02/2012 20:02

Excellent news Ned. Please don't hesitate to share any good news on here. We like good news from anyone Smile
Respect to amberlight and car mechanical skills!

sandripples · 02/02/2012 20:12

Hi everyone - I see there are lots of new ladies on here since I've been away. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I've just my check-up (I cannot beleive it is TWO years since I had my op) and all is well, so that always nice to know!

New people - take heart - its such a dreadful thing to go through but you'll manage and emerge the other end. I haven't had a single day off work since I went back in October 2010 = very proud emoticon! (And some good luck involved, clearly)

Best wishes to all those having treatment and ealing with diagnoses. And of course to old friends - sorry not to 'see' you v. often but you know ho it is - work, 18th birthday parties, etc etc. Much love!

Gigondas · 02/02/2012 20:32

Ned glad it is good news and enjoy the creme egg.

Thanks again for sharing/support- my mum was round (its been 5 years since she had tumour on throat and secondaries removed) so she reinforced a lot of what said here.

Just got to get tomorrow out way- dh working at home so that is something as didn't want to get call alone.

No advice on cars/throttles but impressed at knowledge.

Driftwood999 · 02/02/2012 20:32

That's lovely to hear Sandripples. I've just had an invitation through the post to a support/moving forward day, which I think I will take up. Best wishes.

holstenlips · 02/02/2012 20:43

Popping in quickly, had a trip to the hosp, saw my consultant who is now my hero! Have an infection got antibiotics and he also took out some v painful stitches. Much better now!
Shattered so off to bed. Lots of positive vibes to all x

Driftwood999 · 02/02/2012 20:49

That sounds more like it holstenlips. Have a good night.

smee · 02/02/2012 20:50

Waving to SR. Lovely to see you, have been wondering how you are. Excellent on reaching two years. I will raise a toast to that. Smile Smile

Ouch Holstein. Glad you had some stitches out though and hope antibiotics fix it pronto. Sleep well.

Gigondas, your mum sounds great. Five years is a fantastic mile stone. Smile

KurriKurri · 02/02/2012 20:51

Oh brilliant Holsten - hope those AB's kick in very quickly, and you feel better really soon Smile

Hello SR - lovely to see you as alwaysSmile and great your check up went well. - Any news on DS and Cambridge yet?

Nice that your mum could get round Gigondas, - and because she's been through cancer herself, she will really understand how you feel. Good luck for tomorrow, - very good plan to have your DH there for support.

topsyturner · 02/02/2012 20:57

Ned that is great news ! Never , ever , worry about celebrating good news here . It actually makes me feel so much better when I can hear positive outcomes from this bastard disease !

Holsten I am glad that you got to see your consultant . A few stitches out and 24 hours of antibiotics under your belt and you will feel like a new woman .

DH just in from work , and he appears to be in one of his "chuntering" moods . He has moaned non stop since he walked through the door . I think I need to stay on the internet for while to avoid choking him with my bare hands saying something I will regret ...

Oooh creme egg , I have one of those . Think I will have it with a cup of coffee .

sandripples · 02/02/2012 21:14

Hi again, sorry Topsy's DH is in a mood - my DH was rather grumpy yesterday - perhaps its just February!

KK - thanks for asking - my DS was pooled at cambridge then rejected - a painful process spread over a week - he and I both very disappointed he came so near yet so far. It was tough too as he had to pick himslef up to prepare for A-level modules 10 days later! He's still got an interview at Imperial but apart from that tending to think of Manchester (nice for me as not far away though he'd live in halls, not at home which is fine of course). I'm still mourning Cambridge myself as I enjoyed my DD's time there so much - loved visiting her etc. I need to get a grip really!

Smee - thanks for the toast!

Smile
KurriKurri · 02/02/2012 21:21

Oh - that's a shame SR Sad it's so hard to see them disappointed isn't it? - Imperial and Manchester are great Universities though, and I'm sure he'd have a fantastic time at either of them Smile

Oh dear - chuntering DHs, mine does that on occasion Grin

smee · 02/02/2012 22:09

Ah that's a shame SR. Still Imperial or Manchester's fantastic too and it makes him his own rather than following his big sis. How's she doing? Is she still working? Smile

Topsy, male chuntering sounds familiar here too. Not that mine will ever admit it. Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/02/2012 22:16

waves to SR !! 2 years -excellent ! Very sorry about ds and Cambridge-but as kk says Imperial and Manchester excellent. Hope he wasn't too disappointed.
holsten -hooray for lovely consultant !
ned your diagnosis very like mine, size etc though I was def. grade 2

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/02/2012 22:17

Gigondas good that you have your mum too - am glad she's done so well.

OP posts:
jchocchip · 02/02/2012 23:06

Great news ned. Hurray for clear margins and nodes! waves to everyone. My dh is not grumpy atm. He even came out to the pub with me tonight! very tired now, nighty night.

OneInEight · 03/02/2012 06:05

Great news Ned for clear margins and no nodes. Can start moving on to next stage now. Gigondas- first congratulations on your new daughter but what a dreadful time to be diagnosed. My Dad is also doing well five years past diagnosis which was comforting when I was in the initial stages of the world had ended - picked out my park bench and everything. I hope they give you a treatment plan really soon as that really helps you move on from this initial stage. Holsten- glad the stiches are out and hope the antibiotics have eased the pain overnight. MAS - I am a definitely a two's company and anything more than that becomes traumatic kind of lady myself. Amber - impressed by your car knowledge and it is good that they think the herceptin effects will be temporary so you can continue. Assembly was very good and ds1 did his lines beautifully and even joined in the singing with a smile. It is amazing how much more confident the children have got in a year although they have a really, positive teacher this year which must help.

MaryAnnSingleton · 03/02/2012 07:41

oneineight am so glad assembly was good Smile
Busy day today- posting some work, buying bits for mum's tea party,ds to hair cut and car to collect, then baking. Drawing if there's time and meditation which is getting a bit neglected.
Hope everyone has a lovely day...

OP posts:
Gigondas · 03/02/2012 08:53

Ned am pleased appt went well. Mas - what are you baking? Treat box looking empty here so prob should be inspired ESP as dd1 at nursery til 3.
Had good nights sleep which with advice here and from my mum is helping me try to stay calm re call on plan later. Dh here as working at home. This is good as shock/ fear means I struggle to take things jn . Am ESP worried about what it means if they see anything on ct scan of chest as understand that means might be spreading but not quite sure what that means. Suppose will find out.

Hope everyone else has a nice day and keeps out the cold . On upside it's a good day to be snuggled on sofa feeding a baby (the misery of all this is that taking away from What is a lovely experience - dd2 lovely and finding whole newborn thing much better second time around as felt like train hit me with dd1).

jchocchip · 03/02/2012 09:00

Morning everyone. Phew, no work for me today, feel I can have a bit of a catchup. It is so tiring starting back, I had to have a nap yesterday afternoon before I could face doing anything! Lovely to see sunshine here today. It's very frosty and cold but I'm going to put 6 layers on and go outside. After a Brew anyone care for one?
