I have some Ritz crackers (an urge overtook me) -will that help sometimes ?
We've been asked,me or dad,to read Larkin's Arundel Tomb at the funeral on Friday- it's lovely, but eek- would I be any good at that ? I know dad would.

Hi all , haven't read properly and not up to doing full post on weekends antics yet .
Just wanted to report back on ct result apt .
Slight changes to lung secondaries . Not enough to need treatment right now , but enough to change 3 monthly cts to 8 weekly cts .
Need new echo as slight wibble in heart .
Need liver ultrasound as contrast in ct failed . No sign of disease in liver (or anywhere else , yippee , but want to play it safe .

So all in all , could have been a lot worse .
Doc thinks that as long as next ct shows as stable , then they are going to hold off on Herceptin till I really need it .

Going to have little lie down now and get my head around all this .
Will be back later to chat Smile

well done topsy -am sure they will make sure they check every single thing and keep the closest eye on you =they are certainly being very thorough.

Gigondas · 20/02/2012 17:17

Topsy that is good and I am glad they are being so thorough

amberlight · 20/02/2012 17:22

Topsy, phew...have a Brew

Sometimesiwonder · 20/02/2012 17:25

Phew Topsy, that sounds pretty reasonable. I like their thoroughness, how reassuring.

OlympicGoldPennies · 20/02/2012 17:26

Hello All, Pennies here in her olympic disguise.

Thought I had to pop on here today after reading about Wubblybubbly. Very sad indeed and I just wanted to send you all my love and best wishes as we remember her.

SparkleRainbow · 20/02/2012 17:26

Well done Topsy, they do sound like they are keeping a close eye on you, but it is all a bit stressful.

LJ - yeah for clear mammo, I am glad they are taking care of you with the bone scan and reduction consultation too.

Sometimes - Junior sometimes sounds wonderful, and I have also had to go through the colours of wee, poo and snot with my two oldest, think it is a tmi stage they all have to go through. Grin

Ds was very good at the hopsital. His wonderful physio called for a poditrist (sp?) to have a look too, and neither of them is happy with the look of his feet and toes, and neither knows what is going on, so physio got him into his rheumatologist's clinic on Thursday this week, much faster than I could ever have managed. I don't know what we would do without her really. They did say it could be early rheumatoid arthritis or reynauds, both common in eds sufferers. We shall see.

holstenlips · 20/02/2012 17:28

Well done topsy, and lj. Rests all round.
Good luck for Gig tonight, will be good to get wound looked at, reassurance.
I have first counselling at my oncology centre on Thursday. Anyone done this?
Sounds like topsy and amber had naughty weekends?!
Sometimes, good luck with the brochure. Poor you, sounds tricky.
Hello everyone else
Ned been around yet?

amberlight · 20/02/2012 17:28

Sparkle, eek about the feet. Good that they're referring him on, but not quite the relaxing situation you need...

holstenlips · 20/02/2012 17:32

Sparkle, hope your DS is ok x

SparkleRainbow · 20/02/2012 17:35

Thank you amber and holsten, he will be fine, it is just another thing he has to deal with, but we will get there.

Just read the message from Pennies, what have I missed about wubblybubbly?

Figgyroll · 20/02/2012 17:35

Great results for Topsy and LJ. Put your feet up and snaffle something off the fbs trolley.

Gig, good luck tonight. Hope everything is okay with wound.

Sometimes, I haven't had counselling yet but think I might need to at some stage. It will be interesting to hear how you got on and if you think it helps.

Sometimes, the brochure sounds horrendous. I'm sorry it's such hard work but I'm sure you'll crack it. Would a Crunchie help? I've got one hiding in the fridge.

Amber, your weekend sounds like jolly good fun, if a bit naughty. Good to hear you're feeling better.

Sparkle, yay for DSs quick appointment at the clinic. I hope they can come up with some answers.

MAS, it's an honour to be asked to read at a funeral but must be so difficult to do. Do you think, if you practice the piece a few times, it will make it any easier? Maybe dad could be a back-up?

holstenlips · 20/02/2012 17:41

MAS I just quickly read that Larkin poem, I think its lovely, the last verse especially. If you feel able then go for it ( I would be too shy)

OlympicGoldPennies · 20/02/2012 17:53

Sparkle: here Sad

Gigondas · 20/02/2012 18:02

Best not read that - anything sets me off at the minute. Will update you later on what dr says

Gigondas · 20/02/2012 18:03

Sorry meant poem- I was very sorry to read about wubbly Sad

LimeJellyforBrains · 20/02/2012 18:04

Topsy - Well done on getting safely through another checkup, those are good results. I'm glad they are being so careful and looking after you for us. Sorry the CTs will be more frequent = more frequent stress. Big hugs x

Big hugs also to Sparkle and her DS. Glad you got such a swift appointment but wish he didn't need it x

Figgyroll · 20/02/2012 18:10

Sad I didn't know Wubblybubbly, I only joined Mumsnet last year but so sorry to hear this news. Condolences to her family at this very sad time.

MaryAnnSingleton · 20/02/2012 19:07

Wubbly was on the earliest threads -I went back to read some of them-she was newly diagnosed then -it's a shock -as kk said (she was sweet and pm'd me the news) it's so awful when bad things happen to one of our tamoxifen family.
RIP dear Wubbly and love to our dh and son.

sparkle a cuddle for junior sparkle xxx

the poem- I am horribly shy but of course it's an honour to be asked -but I'd hate to mess up,and I know how well dad would do it - Patience's ds asked for either of us so I guess he won't mind who does it (but he wants to know for the order of service)

NedSchneebly · 20/02/2012 19:11

Bleurgh. All done, and survived! Feeling bit ropey -very bloated feeling, funny taste in mouth and spaced out and wobbly. Very weepy too, like it's the end of something and I've lost something, but I don't know what . . . Sad

Drugs took ages to come from pharmacy, which didn't help stress levels, and then 3 attempts from 2 nurses to find a vein. . .

Had a big soggy little cry when she started to put drugs in - big syringe of red one v scary looking. Nurse very reassuring and chatty and positive, in a nice way.

Sorry if I don't respond to everyone, but will try to read properly tomorrow when my brain is in gear a bit more. lime good result, my lovely - well done!

Thanks for positive vibes everyone- it means a great deal to me x x x x

Figgyroll · 20/02/2012 19:13

{{{{Ned}}}} Big hugs for you. It's horrible, that first session. But you'll soon start to feel better and, before you know what, you'll be going in for your last one.

MaryAnnSingleton · 20/02/2012 19:15

well done dear ned all sounds very wibbly making but you did it - one down !! rest up now and take care of yourself xxx
