Spacecadet has asked me to get everyone who was concerned about her know, that she was admitted to hospital last night. she is currently in MAU, where she will be for up 48 hours depending on how she responds to treatment. She had another chest x-ray and is on IV antibiotics and also a drip as she was dehydrated. She has asked me to say thankyou to everyone who was concerned about her.

lgj, i dont think your mum and dad would appreciate sharing their bed with an overweight, ill woman!

spacecadet · 09/01/2006 18:19

i will ask the eldest dd to advertise for a mothers help in the post office tomorrow and i will contact the au pair agency on this thread, i will happily pay the money myself.

codnotamod · 09/01/2006 18:19

spacecadet · 09/01/2006 18:24

mummytosteven · 09/01/2006 18:25

oh dear, sorry to see the hospital have kicked you out. we have a spare double bed and are welcome to come to us for a break. seriously.

spacecadet · 09/01/2006 18:25

im going to go and put my feet up now with a mag, might as well make the most of him while hes here.

spacecadet · 09/01/2006 18:26

im seriously tempted MTS, he would have to drive me though.

MarsLady · 09/01/2006 18:29

spacey........... in a word .............. GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just pretend you are in hospital. If I lived close enough I'd have you here! Having seen my bf go through it (and she was like you, convinced it wasn't quite that bad) I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Take MTS up on her offer!

mummytosteven · 09/01/2006 18:29

yes, that's the difficulty, it is the most godawful train journey.

BudaBabe · 10/01/2006 10:46

How are you today SC?

spacecadet · 10/01/2006 10:50

had a lie in today as dh took dd to work with him, hes bringing her back soon though, just feel very tired now more than anything, i think the anti-biotics have def kick started it out of my body, ive stopped coughing up green phlegm[tmi, sorry], just a bit in the morning today. but physically feel completely wiped out and a bit worruied about the effect all the anti-bs will have had on my system.

spacecadet · 10/01/2006 10:51

im on a horrible anti-b now called cefradine. makes me feel dizzy.

Gizmo · 10/01/2006 10:54

Spacey,

While you're here - hope you don't mind - would you be up for a visit tonight if I pop up? I can probably get to you around 6.30-6.45 if I bail out of work promptly...

mummytosteven · 10/01/2006 10:57

don't spose you could go back to bed and be asleep when DH comes back with DD? shame about the antibs.

spacecadet · 10/01/2006 10:57

that would be great gizmo, i did email you, but the emails must be slow this morning.
do you need directions?

spacecadet · 10/01/2006 10:58

i had thought of nipping upstairs and getting into bed when he comes back MTS!

spub · 10/01/2006 11:00

SC- so sorry you are having such a crap time and I truly hope you feel better soon.
May be a completely stupid suggestion given everything else you have going on but if you are on anti'b's try to get some acidophilus (sp?) down you as well so that you are not prone to thrush once you get over the pneumonia....

spacecadet · 10/01/2006 11:07

spub, sorry if stupid question, but what is it and where do i get it from? thanks

Gizmo · 10/01/2006 11:19

Gotcha

Don't worry, have found you on Google and will be along later. Put you feet up!

spacecadet · 10/01/2006 11:38

ok

desperatehousewife · 10/01/2006 12:13

oh spacey - i just don't know what to say - you are having the most awful time and it makes me want to cry with frustration for you. I have nothing of any use to add to this thread - except you would be most welcome here for a break if you fancy being looked after by teh sea for a bit...?

Twiglett · 10/01/2006 12:21

What am I missing? why does your DH keep going to a job he is leaving in 2 weeks anyway? He knows he is needed at home

at the start he commented on how the doctor told him it could have been fatal .. is he just being stubborn or stupid?

spub · 10/01/2006 12:23

SC - acidplhilus tablets can be found at health food stores - ot you could get powdered probiotics. Basically, they will help re-populate your gut with the good bacteria that the antib's can eradicate.
I had a septic throat in the summer, took a course of antib's and had chronic thrush as a consequence (never having had it before).
Apparently those yogurt drinks like Yakult are not really worth bothering with as they contain sugar and comparatively few good bacteria compared to the acidphilus tabs.
It just sounds like you have so much going on health wise as it is, I'd hate you to end up with anything else
Best wishes.

spacecadet · 10/01/2006 14:21

will get dh to get some on his day off, thanks.
