at Montezuma choc buttons. MAS, will you adopt me?? Grin

Farty yoga man. Shock Imagine how embarrassed his wife must be..

Jane your work colleagues sound rather lovely. I could do with a few nice work colleagues. Working at home makes you go a bit peculiar. I talk to the cat and he's very understanding.

Blue wee's impressive, Kurri. I doff my cap to you. Smile

jchocchip · 08/12/2011 21:21

Yes I'm looking forward to joining my new team, though it is quite nice spending time at home with the cat. Some of the cost cutting measures are home working and hot desking. Not sure how this will work, the odd day spent working out of the car is ok, but would miss going in and I'd have to clear loads of junk off my desk if it wasn't mine...

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/12/2011 22:35

I talk to Celeste a lot (and myself come to that) I do like working at home I must say. The only other proper job I've had was as a bookseller which I loved (most of the time) mainly because of the fab people I worked with.

I am having a wee wobble guys. Nothing has changed, still got my appt to come, lump completely unchanged and doing nothing to worry me, but I am having a 'wee small hours' dark moment.

'what ifs' are hard, eh?

jchocchip · 09/12/2011 07:12

What ifs are the hardest bit dig. I hope you managed to settle down and get some sleep.

Morning all. Has anyone got snow? I'm going to get up and put the kettle on, would anyone like a Brew?

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/12/2011 07:26

dig -it's always wobbly making to be waiting - hang on in there,we'll be with you.
No snow here jane but cold and dark

Missed putting out the wheelie bin this morning, aargh. I usually notice next doors and do it on my way in from Thursday night pub, but didn't go last night... Will have to jump up and down on the rubish, its not too bad to fit 2 weeks in but must get it empty before Christmas Xmas Smile No snow here either ...

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/12/2011 08:47

grrr about rubbish
Hope Mr cakes had a better night last night

Morning all

Posting from hospital waiting room .
Rads delayed by at least 1 hour . Typically it happens on the morning where I have a monster headache .

Dig wibble away my dear . The waiting is an utter bastard !

jchocchip · 09/12/2011 10:12

Oh bugger Topsy, is there anything good to read? There was no phone reception at Leeds - something to do with being underground and shielded with lead the radiologist said!

cakesandale · 09/12/2011 10:12

Dig Sad Breathe deeply and stick with us while you wait. it is indeed a bastard, probably the worst bit.

MAS - thank you, we will await the postman! x

KK - glad it wasn't too bad at the hospital. Don't forget not to tickle the dog.

Smee - handstands!!!! In the water???? Good grief Shock and awe!

Thanks for good wishes for DH. Tablets put him out like a light and he has stopped twitching and hyperventilating. I am being stern on the work front and we will see what a few nights of sleep do for him (and me - had to sleep on the sofa last night as he was snoring like a walrus).

In other news, I have chased up my back op - it is waiting for confirmation that there is funding. Arse.

Love to all. x

smee · 09/12/2011 10:17

Dig, wibbles are why we're here and you're at the tough end, as pre-reassurance/ diagnosis is where the mind races. As Topsy says, wibble away. We all totally get it. Sad

I love working from home too, but I do miss the people side. Wish I had somewhere to go every few weeks like you Cat. I go to occasional meetings, then go onto auto babble as I'm not used to it. Grin

No snow here. Nice and crisp and sunny. Smile

smee · 09/12/2011 10:18

Topsy are you zapped yet? Hope so. Smile

jchocchip · 09/12/2011 10:23

wintery shower here, bit haily but it has stopped now. dh is stressing as he has an outside job this afternoon and then we have to go and sign a rent agreement for his mum's house which is above the snow line on top of a hill.

smee · 09/12/2011 10:27

Handstands are my swimming party piece. Guaranteed to impress 7 year olds, unless you're my son who asked for a triple back flip Shock

That's good your DH slept. Can't hurt that's for sure. Hope it will help him get past it without too much more stress for him. Bugger about the back op though. That's outrageous.. Angry

jchocchip · 09/12/2011 10:38

I know it is hailing again because it is coming down the chimney!

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/12/2011 11:01

yikes jane !! beautifully sunny and clear now.
Grr about back op cakes do hope they decide they can fund it
smee I do that auto babbling thing when I see people after being home alone- I do it in shops too- obviously people think I'm a bit crazed.

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 09/12/2011 11:22

Dig - I hope you managed to get some sleep, the waiting and wondering is the hardest bit, hang in there and we'll try to help get you through Smile

Cakes - I'm glad the knock out drops worked for MrC - just getting a bit of sleep will help I'm sure. Definitely be stern on the work front, - I think sometimes people get so caught up in work they can't think clearly and need to be told to just stop.

Sympathies on the snoring - DH had to sleep on the settee last night because of my radioactivenes, and I got a blissful night's sleep away from his hog snorts. Grin

Fingers crossed for your back op. - hope they make up their minds soon and get on and do it for you.

topsy - hope you have been zapped and are on your way home now - rads. are notorious for delays IME, - I once read half a novel whilst waiting.

Grr about bin jane, but hopefully you'll get a collection just before Christmas.
No hail here although it's cold.

Smee - you will have to secretly brush up your back flips, and surprise your DS next time Grin (At least your party pieces are impressive, my DC were forced to watch while I did stuff like touching the tip of my nose with my tongue Grin)

Hope everyone is having a good day

topsytinselturner · 09/12/2011 11:22

Zapped !
Now waiting for a friend to finish getting her toes poked (by a podiatrist not a random !) And then we are going out to lunch .

Got to be home before 1pm though as DDs school kicks out early today . Teachers are off on their christmas jolleys !

Topsy - my jaw has hit the floor. The kids get sent home early so the teachers can go and get pissed? Shock

Cat - is Brum really sunny???? Cov is grey and cold and crap. Angry

Have just prised dh off the pooter and am sending him to spend the afternoon at the school Xmas play. I went yesterday while he snoozed and it was just lovely.

at Kurri's nose tongue trick. I can't do that.. Envy How's isolation then? Are you bored yet?

Xmas play sounds fun, Cakes. What was DD? Human or animal? Ours is a concert next week, but DS won't tell me what he's doing.

Have a nice lunch, Topsy. You're rattling through the rads. Think Amber's well on her way to finishing too. Are you half way yet, Amber?? Think you must be.

Sun in Brum sounds like the place to be. My mum just told me it's lovely there today too. Smile

KurriKurri · 09/12/2011 13:01

Smee - you need a very long tongue and/or a very long nose Grin

I just got a lovely arrangement of flowering plants as a 'thinking of you' from my SIL and BIL - how sweet of them.

I am very bored - although there's lots I could get on with, - but I can't seem to rev myself up to start. Also everything tastes funny and woolly - I tried to eat a bit of toast and gave up after a couple of bites - I was chewing and chewing to get it down.

Someone just rang this morning to say she wants DD to start teaching her grandchild piano after Christmas - so that's good Smile

Does anyone have any idea how much she should charge for a half hour lesson for an eight year old?
