asthma bad. dont want to go in but might have to

OP posts:
SemperUbiSubUbi · 23/11/2011 22:48

Why are you wasting your time and breath ringing nhs?

Get someone to take you up to A&E.

Sparklingbrook · 23/11/2011 22:49

Get yourself to A&E NOW!

catsareevil · 23/11/2011 22:49

If you think you need to go in then do that, dont worry about nhs24.

AtYourCervix · 23/11/2011 22:50

nhs24 is a bit crap if you know what's wrong. go now, sooner rather than later, before you get worse.

putyourhatonsweetie · 23/11/2011 22:50

I'm holding your hand (and dragging you to a and e)

giraffesCantDookForApples · 23/11/2011 22:53

got neb so had that can breathe

rather ooh and direct to ward than a%e

OP posts:
Hecubasdaughter · 23/11/2011 22:53

You know what they are going to say don't you? can you speak in sentences or are you just having to use your inhaler a lot?

peanutmakinalistncheckinitwice · 23/11/2011 22:53

Here's a hand, it's cold tho!
How are you doing?

SarahStratton · 23/11/2011 22:53

Giraffe, I have bad asthma, but nowhere near as bad as yours. You need to go to A&E.

That's an order.

bosch · 23/11/2011 22:54

I agree, nhs direct are a bit crap. I think they are for people who don't have a brain. Every time I've phoned them, they've told me to go to A & E or similar, which i would have done if I hadn't phoned them first. If you know your own body, you know when you need to be seen by a doctor/some drugs!

Hecubasdaughter · 23/11/2011 22:54

I would say if you can speak in sentences it would be better going to the OOH and onto the ward but if you can't speak in sentences then I would get yourself to A&E.

hellhasnofury · 23/11/2011 22:55

We were in your position last night giraffes. Can you string a sentence together, is breathing tiring you?

giraffesCantDookForApples · 23/11/2011 22:56

ooh next to ward. seen faster than a&e.

Not about to drop dead, had neb. usually walk in ooh seen right away. going now.

OP posts:
giraffesCantDookForApples · 23/11/2011 22:58

up to 4/5, 5ml neb helped but not for long but enough as long as not walking.

ooh attached to a&e, and opposite ward. honestly ooh faster unless you cant breathe at all. trust me - doine both lots!!

thanks.

Hecubasdaughter · 23/11/2011 22:58

Hope you're ok. :)

giraffesCantDookForApples · 24/11/2011 00:20

thanks. Seen dr. Being admitt. Waiting for porter to ward on 2 litre oxygen. Want to cry. Dr on phone described me as having as brittle asthma to ward. Been mentioned briefly before but in denial so feel upset now

OP posts:
SarahStratton · 24/11/2011 00:34

Oh giraffes, you're in the best place now. Try and relax and let them get you better. Any other bridges can be crossed later, and you always have us to rant at.

Hope you get a decent night's sleep. Take care of yourself x

CardyMow · 24/11/2011 01:18

Aww giraffes. Hope you feel OK soon. I have the startings of a chest infection that is making it hard for me to breathe, am on max dose of my inhalers right now. Got to go to GP in morning for anti-b's to knock this on the head.

Asthma is shite. And yours is worse than mine, more on a par with my DS2's. Sad

ReindeerBollocks · 24/11/2011 02:01

Hope the O2 is helping and you manage the get some rest.

Let them look after you now and I hope you feel better soon.

giraffesCantDookForApples · 24/11/2011 02:54

thanks all. Hunty hope antibiotics help you. Need to wait up to see dr.
