Evening everyone.
I hope it was good news for Shron today.
Amber, good idea to start your Christmas shopping now if you can and get those cards all written asap - you will have a hectic few weeks in December. Oh, and maybe get a couple of food deliveries too so you won't have to trek around the supermarket. You sound a very organised person, I'm sure you'll have it all under control.
Topsy, when I had my pre-rads planning session they issued me with a shirt type thing that had poppers down the middle, across both shoulders and down the sides. It meant that I could change into it as soon as I got to the rads department (to save on time), then when I got onto the bed they just unpopped the left side, leaving me covered up on the right. I took it home with me every night so it must save the hospital a bit on laundry bills. After my last session I was so glad to stuff it in the 'used gowns' bag - it was a good feeling to get rid of it.
Aww, Smee, I used to love class assemblies. The mistakes are all part of their charm - although I see it from the other side now I'm a teaching assistant. The teachers are mortified when it goes a little awry and think it reflects on them. I try to reassure them from a parents point of view.
MAS, I like to be organised too - I have written out the Christmas cards for the children in my class, have family cards and have a list of things to look out for/buy. I've decided to buy a new tree this year. Ours in 8' tall and is incredibly wide so takes up half the living room. This year I will buy a narrower one. Do you have many commissions for Christmas cards? You really are very talented I'm surprised you're not designing your own to sell in packs. I rather like the ones that the Phoenix Card Co. sell and I think you're more talented than a lot of the artists they use. Have you ever approached them?
Sparkle, I've been cleaning too. I collect Devon pottery and it fills my deep window sill so I've taken everything off (over 100 pieces), polished them and the sill and put everything back. I also washed the conservatory floor. Not very interesting I know but it's the first time I've done both of those things since my diagnosis in February so I feel it's a bit of a turning point in returning to normality. I hope DH's presentation goes stunningly well tomorrow and he's headhunted.
I expect I'll be knackered later from all the cleaning but hopefully it will help me sleep a bit better than I have been. I know a lot of you ladies are having trouble sleeping and I am too. I will try reading at bedtime tonight and maybe a Horlicks too. Someone else mentioned that so it gave me the idea.
