I have endometriosis and for the past 6 months or so I have noticed I seem to have a small amount of blood on my pad higher up with a space between the usual blood when I am on my period. Could this be coming from where I wee? I do go to the hospital every 6 months but forgot to ask last week when I went..DOH!!! It may just be travelling alon the pad but for there to be a space inbetween seems wierd. I feel a bit of a div for asking but I do know that endo can get everywhere and was wondering if it could be in my bladder.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Is it painful for anyone that is experiencing air bubbles, and is there pressure as well because I am experiencing pressure where I am trying to force out the air bubble, but it doesn't always work. I believe there might be inflammation, not sure. I am so new to this and I'm 55. Yes post menopausal, but I have forced my body to menstruate again through hormones because it's the only way I feel some relief from the pain. Please write back and let me know if anyone is experiencing this too, even if you are not menopausal. Thank you :)

MomSad · 03/04/2022 22:21

Ok, I'm reading all your posts, and it's shocking how common this is for so many of you. I had not experienced anything like this before age 55. Yet, I had 2 c section births, and countless bladder and uti infections over the years. If it is from endometriosis, then it was caused by the c sections. I have gone through many tests, and everything is very normal, so if it happening for me, and I had no history other than c section, and one ovary removal, hmmmm perhaps it is from reduced estrogen? I know that the pain reduced after taking estrogen (orally and vaginally). I hope through talking we can help each other. I have been very aggressive in treating myself because I literally had to stop eating all fruits, vegetables, dairy and chicken. The pain was so severe and it happened over night! I have now been able to slowly introduce foods back in my diet, but it is still painful. Every food affects the pelvic floor, so I'm told by the doctor, yet I never experienced this before, so why now? I have no one in my family going through this and I am a triplet!!!

Dnikaa · 03/04/2022 22:55

I haven't had kids yet I am only 30 but this happened after a sexual encounter. I don't have endo however I have fibroids but those were there before this even happened so it's not caused by this. I don't feel much pain

MissyMoo81 · 20/07/2022 12:32

I’m 43 and had the same issue since my second c section two and a half years ago. I’ve had severe pcos and I don’t know if it’s connected.
My urologist did a cystoscopy and cut out a polyp at the bladder neck - but I’ve just had another period and it’s still coming out the urethra.
I was so sick of skepticism from medical professionals I filmed it happening when I went to the toilet!! Gross but by the time I finally got to the urologist she was quite interested. She still hasn’t worked it out though - no signs of endometriosis, just the polyp.
It’s making me a bit crazy! Good luck everyone!

OmaliAut · 20/07/2022 14:09

I have this issue. I'm from USA. Dr laughed at me. I wonder if second poster is talking about me.. I've since been to a urologist. They did a endoscopy through the urethra. It came back normal. Ugh.. Dr did say a microscopic tear is possible when I asked and not caught on that test.. but usually with those, urine is found in the vaginal opening. Not blood in the urethra. So it's mostly unlikely.
Three drs pretty much say they don't believe me because the test are fine. They said I prob think that it's happening because every 5 years or after a traumatic injury or birth our vaginas change shape, position, etc.. the blood could be caught in lips and run up to urethra area and exiting there instead of below.. I truly believe this may happen to some, but I don't believe this is my case. I got a video in the bath to where you can see it coming out of the urethra. But it was dismissed.. Dr said well her test are all normal so it's nothing serious and whatever reason if it's happening is nothing to be concerned about or nothing they can help with.

It's frustrating.

MissyMoo81 · 21/07/2022 06:56

Sorry we’re all going through this! at least my urologist believed me - it was the snarky guy doing the bladder scan that really annoyed me - are you sure it’s not vaginal? Um, yeah, been sexually active for 25 years, pretty sure I know where my vagina is. I told my specialist who said he’s not medically trained and should basically shut up 🤣 but she can’t find the problem either. I’m in Australia.

hroberts · 23/07/2022 05:05

I just have to say I’m so thankful I found this post!! I’m having these same symptoms and the drs are clueless. I suspect endometriosis in the bladder and urethra.

MissyMoo81 · 23/07/2022 07:43

I should add my specialist hasn’t given up on me - she’s doing more tests and is seeing me again in a couple of months.
I’m so glad I found this thread too - it does my head in every time my period comes. Nice to know it’s not unheard of!

KarenGreat · 23/07/2022 09:10

Yes. It’s called a fistula.
In this case it could be a vaginal fistula.
it can happen after surgery like c section or from an injury.

MissyMoo81 · 25/07/2022 10:53

My specialist thought it might be a fistula but she’s unable to find one. There’s also no urine through the vagina. Maybe a less common fistula like Youssef’s syndrome. Or a microscopic tear (which I doubt - I get very little blood from the vagina, the bulk of it is through the urethra).
She was hopeful the growth she cut out was causing it - but it hasn’t resolved and I’ve had two cycles since then. I’m seeing her again in November - I’ve been doing three day cytology tests each cycle while we wait. So we’ll see I guess.

I thank God for having you all as support. Please anyone that gets help let us know once u do so it could help us all.my menstruation is like 100 percent from my urethra now 😔. I also have chronic uti so my poor urethra is so tired. I can feel the soreness. I haven't even had kids as yet! I need help!

ambsmills95 · 23/10/2022 01:57

Hey guys, just checking in. Period blood has been coming out of my urethra since 2017. It started as just a tiny amount & now I bleed at least half my period out of my urethra now.

1st urogynocologist did a cystoscopy & ultrasound. He said he was clueless bc I am perfectly normal.

2nd urogynocologist did an ultrasound & wanted to scheduled me for a cystoscopy while I am on my period. I never went back because I found out my insurance wasn't great.

I may go back with better insurance. Maybe someone should get a cystoscopy while bleeding. Just put a tampon in. If your doc is humble enough to do it lol

MissyMoo81 · 23/10/2022 05:25

I’ve thought the same thing, see it in action. I see the urologist in a month, but nothing has changed.

NeedleWielder · 23/10/2022 05:33

For those of you with endometriosis, could you maybe have some endometrial tissue in your bladder or urethra? Since endometriosis is the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, it is a possibility. I’ve seen videos of women bleeding out of their inner canthus and even a thumb while on their periods!

MissyMoo81 · 23/10/2022 08:49

in my case, my urologist did a cystoscopy and found no evidence of endometriosis, but yes, she was looking for bladder endometriosis or a fistula when she went in.

ambsmills95 · 23/10/2022 15:58

Same, my 1st urogynocologist looked at endometriosis of the bladder and couldn't find any. He said both my bladder and urethra looked great.

ambsmills95 · 02/11/2022 02:31

Have you guys made sure there's no endometrial tissue in the ureters or kidneys? I have gotten an ultrasound, but the doc said nothing about ruling out endo tissue in those places. He only mentioned ruling it out in the bladder. & I assume he looked for it in the urethra when I got the cystoscope.

irmat123 · 19/01/2023 19:28

HI, I have the same Issue, blood from my vagina and urethra when in my period but I have done test, x-rays, CT scan, and everything came out normal, I know this is not normal, I never had it before, anybody had found a logical explanation for this? ,,, Thanks

MissyMoo81 · 19/01/2023 23:36

Sorry irmat123, no progress here. I’m waiting on mri results and my specialist has gone to her colleagues - but I don’t see her again until April. I hope you are travelling ok!

USAmumto2 · 21/05/2023 02:01

Hi everyone. I’ve been watching this thread for a while. I realize it’s an old thread, but I hope what I have found will help someone.
TL/DR: massage your c-section scar

I had the problem detailed in the original post. On each sanitary pad, I literally had a small dot of blood and then a white space and then vaginal bleeding during each period. My period lasted for 10-14 days. I was for sure going to stain underwear, pants or even my car seat. I had constant daily abdominal pain. Sex was NOT happening. The pain with sex was a 10 out of 10. I had been to 9 doctors over the space of two years. I had a ct scan, cystoscope, vaginal ultrasounds and more. And this only after dealing with the pain for about 5 years. I left each dr. appointment more disappointed than before. They either looked at me like I was crazy or said everything looked fine. I was starting to think I was nuts.

I finally came across a Reddit post where a lady said she went to a pelvic floor physical therapist. She detailed all the procedures she had done and how much it helped. I didn’t got to PT and I’m not a doctor. I did, however start massaging my c-section scar. That alone worked wonders for the pain. I also used my vibration plate on the scar. I also took and am still taking an effective glutathione supplement. My most recent period was normal! I couldn’t believe it. No weird urethra bleeding, no pain, no clots and leaking and the like. I will continue to massage my c-section scar!

*PSA: Massage your C-Section Scar! (and Other Things I Learned in Pelvic Floor Physio After a C-Section) is the exact name of the Reddit post.
*I had previously had the vibration plate. There are smaller ones made specifically for scars but I only had the big version. I have the vt007 plate.
*s-acetyl glutathione emothione is the supplement I take.

Can you put the link to the exact glutathione please .Amazon link please

MomSad · 21/05/2023 09:57

Ladies, I have an update to provide you all. I discovered that the Mirana IUD stopped the urethra bleeding for 4 months. Pressure and pain totally stopped too .My period did not stop, to the shock of my doctors especially when I am post menopausal and this pain started and bleeding started after I had no period for five years, and I had right ovary removal and 2 C Sections years prior. For those of you with pain and pressure in the urethra, it stopped for me when I had the IUD inserted however due to continuous contractions that were uncontrollable the IUD moved down to the cervix and now the bleeding and pressure in urethra started again. Coincidence? Maybe but I believe there is a link to this. In addition I was put on low dose blood thinners that have helped with pressure and pain. Could this be varicose vein related? I’m not sure. All of my tests come back normal and the only difference is I am post menopausal and bleeding and the Dr doesn’t know why. So ladies, this is an interesting factor, yes? I will keep you posted on any further progress. Good luck to you all.

MissyMoo81 · 21/05/2023 11:07

Thanks for the update! My urologist has now decided it’s most likely endometriosis and wants me to have the mirena in too. I’m 44 and haven’t started menopause yet, but she’s hoping it will just stop all the bleeding. Hopefully we all get some answers!

Dnikaa · 22/05/2023 03:20

Yes guys thank u. I will try this. We need to help each other.

MomSad · 22/05/2023 08:01

The mirena iud allowed my identical twin to go through menopause without any issues at all. I believe it is a huge support for many and they don’t even know it. Unfortunately I was too late in perfecting so much pain, but it helps me gain back some of my life back and if my body rejects it eventually, I will try it again. Another option is to have 2 mirena iud placed, which was told to me by my Dr. One more point ladies, please ensure you request annual vaginal ultrasounds because biopsies only test the area that is removed and the ultrasound is the only proven test to confirm the entire uterus and lining are cancer free. Nothing is 100 percent but it’s much better than any biopsy. Good luck to you and listen to your gut because you know your body better than anyone!
