I have endometriosis and for the past 6 months or so I have noticed I seem to have a small amount of blood on my pad higher up with a space between the usual blood when I am on my period. Could this be coming from where I wee? I do go to the hospital every 6 months but forgot to ask last week when I went..DOH!!! It may just be travelling alon the pad but for there to be a space inbetween seems wierd. I feel a bit of a div for asking but I do know that endo can get everywhere and was wondering if it could be in my bladder.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Oh no I’m terribly sorry 😞 it must be heartbreaking. Ask your doctor about a possible fistula ? My doctor did mention that to me. It’s a small opening connecting the bladder and uterus which would explain why I bleed through urethra and vagina while on my period. But he also said the main symptom of having a fistula is since there’s a opening from bladder to uterus most women leak urine out of their vagina as well. I don’t have that symptom so he doesn’t think it’s that. But there are fistulas that are uterus to rectum and all three so that could be a possibility for you ?

I have the same problems for years now and it's increasing I mean the blood flow from the urethra. Now it's like it's the main exit. Pls anyone with advice???

TFormentini · 21/12/2020 23:24

Is yours only on your period ? Bleeding through urethra only on period ?

Momnurse2 · 13/01/2021 01:43

I have had this same issue for a couple of years now, and my doctor seems to think I'm crazy!! All tests come back normal! It's so frustrating and scary, but glad to know I'm not alone!

SpudsandGravy · 14/01/2021 17:47

Sorry to hear about this, all.

Have any of you been investigated for a fistula?

SheilaP1109 · 16/02/2021 14:16

Has anyone found out the cause? I too had a CSection 5 months ago and am bleeding from my Urethra when I am Menstruating. I had blood work, a CT scan and am set to visit my Urologist for an Urinary scope. Wondering if anyone ever got to the bottom of it.

Thank you!

I know this is an old thread, but if someone else's is doing deep googling because their drs haven't found any answers yet.. I know the pain and I thought I'd share my experience with this..
My period does come out of my urethra. So does air bubbles constantly. I brought this up to a male dr and he laughed at me and said that's not even possible. You'd have to have a huge urethra to do that... But thanks to google that ** did not discourage me from finding answers.. I've brought it up to my primary and obgyn who have done urinalysis, external ultrasounds of bladder, cat scans.. to look at kidneys, bladder, etc.. all come back normal. I keep telling them no, I'm not just peeing blood. My period is coming out of urethra. Finally I got referred to a bladder clinic and I explained everything again and told her after googling on this issue I believe I have a fistula.. I'm set for a cystoscopy tomorrow. She believes this could be the cause too.. a cystoscopy can also help determine several other things ..
So I just want to say if you're experiencing this. Please ignore the people who don't believe you.. idk why they don't. It's more common the more I look it up.. it's possible. You're not crazy. Talk to a specialist and suggest a cystoscopy. Stand up for yourself. You know your body more than anyone.

OmaliAut · 16/03/2021 15:32

I can't edit or delete that last post... But I went for cystoscopy and.. no fistulas, cancer, ulcers . Everything was normal..
I was told it's probably just your period and it seems like it's going out the urethra..
I'm like no. It is my urethra! Maybe it's not my period, but it's certainly blood and I get clots out of my urethra more so when I'm on my period. I wear a tampon and blood comes out urethra.. I did The two cup test they suggested.. I had a obgyn witness this... I always have blood in my urine samples..
The person who did my cystoscopy still referred me to obgyn to get periods under control and there's nothing further she can do. Even if she was to verify the blood was coming for urethra, there's no further testing or anything she can do to fix it. Least we ruled out cancer..
This is so frustrating!!! I'm so done with drs offices. I have numerous issues and everything always comes back normal. Peeing out blood, having clots of urethra when on period, my blood pressure drops extremely low when I exercise, I occasionally pass out.. always nauseated for some reason.. my hands hurt so much when typing.. my legs and feet have discoloration, swelling, pain.. But nope tests don't show anything.. I'm completely healthy. I'm just done. No more drs . It's just causing stress on top of everything else... All the paperwork, rescheduling for work, pain from lab test, and no answers... I'm done. I pray for a long life.. I'm a single mom and my health scares me so much.. I want to be here a while.. I'm just afraid all these small problems are a part of something bigger... Or if something more immediate comes- drs won't have answers. Real life isn't like greys anatomy..

I am literally in tears after reading your post- it’s like reading my own story word for word. My last hope is seeing a famous specialist- hopefully she won’t make me feel like I’m going crazy as well.

Dnika · 26/05/2021 21:41

I would like to say after having sex and this was excuse me for the TMI, when I did it my period just came down. I dont know if this is linked to the whole urethra bubble or discharge when not on period. And now bleeding through urethra while on period. We need to help each other figure this out since no doctor can.

AJBdjkb35 · 01/06/2021 20:09

HI OMG, so I'm actually 17 and been having this since maybe 8th or 9th grade I haven't told anyone and I'm scared, just wondering how long have you had to?? Idk what it is but I know it's not normal it doesn't hurt and I think my kidneys are fine cuz I only bleed during my period.

Justilou1 · 01/06/2021 20:37

I’m thinking you need a referral to either a urologist or a gynaecologist. Sounds like you have a fistula (hole) that runs between your bladder or urethra and your uterus. You need it investigated. It may have been there all your life, but could potentially be a source of infection or period problems.

AJBdjkb35 · 02/06/2021 00:01

i dont think so, I looked up the symptoms and I don't have any of those, can falling on the urethra cause damage...i made had a hurdle incident, landed right smack in between. hurt like a b word

Thisismyname77463 · 08/07/2021 19:25

@TFormentini

Finally I found someone with my same issue! I have been searching the internet everywhere, I feel like I’m going insane! I had a c section in August of 2019 and right away when you wed after child birth for 6 weeks I had blood coming from both vagina area and urethra. And then every time I had my period i was bleeding out my urethra as well. Not a lot of blood but noticeable. Also during my pregnancy in March Of 2019 I started have some discharge from my urethra. They took urine samples but results came back normal. But recently I just went to the dr and they did a Pap smear and urine sample and everything came back negative and normal ! I am so frustrated! I know something is wrong. Also while I pee towards the end of my pee I feel a pressure or like a squeeze sensation in my bladder. Does anyone else have these problems ? Sorry for the long paragraph lol
This started for me after a c section in jan 2019 too. Did u ever get it looked at?

MomSad · 03/04/2022 05:42

Does anyone feel pressure in the urethra and air bubbles that seem to be coming out at times?

clarazabel · 03/04/2022 06:26

Yes if you have endometriosis.

Dnikaa · 03/04/2022 19:05

Yes it started as air bubbles now just just the main exit for period and any discahrge

MomSad · 03/04/2022 22:03

I am 55, taking .25 mg estrogen daily without progesterone because the pelvic floor, specifically uterus contractions and unwanted climaxing occurred, which makes sense if contractions are 24/7. Does anyone experience a type of tinnitus as well? I ask that because that's exactly how everything started, then pelvic numbing, then serious pain. I had the a huge polyp removed and their was no endometriosis (so they said), but the air bubbles never stopped and it can be very very painful. There are many days the pressure is so terrible and I bearing down to try to push it out. Does that sound familiar to anyone here? I hope I can be of help to many of you because I am 55, and most of you are younger - so if I can be of help I will help.

MomSad · 03/04/2022 22:06

I know tinnitus is from ears but if anyone has gone through this there is much to share, but if you haven't then I won't bother
