Yes totally. It's like a weird lack of conviction isn't it? Hard to explain. I have it a lot.

kleist · 23/12/2005 22:48

flutterbee, this thread in its various incarnations has been going for over a year so you're pretty safe on that score!

When I told my dp I was going to quit he was like 'yeah, whatever, heard it all before'.

How many are you smoking now? For how long etc.?

notasheep · 23/12/2005 22:48

Hi flutterbee-this thread will be fantastic support for you,I seem to spend most of my time on it!

Kliest-of course it makes sense to you as your an exsmoker, how dumb of me!
If i am suddenly not hear i am watching Jonathan Ross!

flutterbeedreaminofawhitexmas · 23/12/2005 22:51

Well I have been smoking for about 8-9 years and smoke roughly 15-20 a day. I did quit last year for about 2 months and I was very pleased with myself I used the patches then so I may try that again.

kleist · 23/12/2005 22:52

I have Wossy on too in the background but Chicco interests me not at all. I thought Scarlett Johannson was meant to be on and I was kind of interested to hear what she's like in interview. Alas.

I'm going to head off soon to my novel and to horizontality. Dd's been so absurdly excited about Christmas the last few days it's been like having a child with ADHD.

kleist · 23/12/2005 22:52

And what's your kid situation flutterbee?

kleist · 23/12/2005 22:53

flutterbee, what went wrong with your quit of 2 months last year? Anything you can learn from it?

notasheep · 23/12/2005 22:53

Happy Christmas to all,not sure when i am here next

kleist · 23/12/2005 22:56

Happy Christmas to you too, notasheep. I'll no doubt be lurking around on MN over the next few days as dp slips in and out of his room to bury his nose in a book or fifty. He finds it hard to be in the Real World. Not that I probably consititute much of a Real World...

kleist · 23/12/2005 22:57

Ok, I'm going to head off now.

BYEEE!

flutterbeedreaminofawhitexmas · 23/12/2005 23:04

Kleist - I have a DS who is 6 weeks old today and I think the biggest problem trying to quit last year was life Well DH (then DP) and I had just moved ibto a new house and he had transferred jobs from London, we were planning our wedding and I then got made redundant from a job I had been in for over 3 years and started a new job within 1 week.

What I'm trying to say is everything got a bit stressfull.

fullofturkeymoonfiend · 24/12/2005 11:10

Hello All, thought I'd pop and test the waters as I will be joining you in feb! (I know, I know, but I aLways get ill when I quit and I CANNOT be off work in jan.)
Managed to stop for 18 months last time then fell off the wagon when I decided i was hard enough to 'do' social smoking. (I go out quite rarely so I thought I'd be ok) but I learn my lesson well! Good luck to all who have stopped now. I will be having a fagless xmas as going to mums for xmas and she doesn't know I started smoking again so dare not! I often don't smoke during the day but come eveningtime, when the kids are in bed I am bad. Oh god, I can feel the 7pm craving coming on already!

charlietherednosedpussy · 25/12/2005 18:41

Merry Xmas Everyone The rats seem to be getting more nervy At first they were all snuggle into the jumper type creatures...now they are like woooooo leave me alone Hoping thats a phase.

OP posts:
kleist · 27/12/2005 13:53

How you doing cc? Have those rats chewed through your plush sofa yet then?

And everyone else? having a fagless Christmas I hope? I'm so pleased not to be dying for a chuff every few minutes ...

kleist · 28/12/2005 15:34

It's so so quiet ...

charlietherednosedpussy · 28/12/2005 16:16

Been ill kliest Had a good xmas?

OP posts:
kleist · 28/12/2005 18:45

Oh cc, have you been ill the whole time? Has it been awful?

Christmas has been very quiet, just me, dp and dd. Which is what we wanted. It's, believe it or not, our first EVER Christmas together at home. Previously we've gone to stay with my mum or dp's mum as they're both widows. But I'm off to stay with my mum on Friday til next Tuesday so if you wonder where I am ...

Dd's been a barrel of manic excitement the whole time, barely sleeping, talking incessantly of Father Christmas, presents, presents and presents. She ingeniously suggested we close all the windows on her advent calendar and opened them again so it could be Christmas again

charlietherednosedpussy · 28/12/2005 19:33

LOL My dd when she was 2/3 hung up her stocking on Xmas night hoping it would be filled again
I have been ill since the 21st, this is the first day I have been able to move/function without pain/headache/coughing my lungs out...first thing this morning went to the doctors who said its not pluracy yet, but to come back if its not gone in a week after ive took the antibiotics. I could actually hear my chest rattling... Better now though me thinks
So xmas for me was a case of hanging over the sofa watching the kids play.

OP posts:
kleist · 28/12/2005 21:49

Cc, I had pleurisy when I was 17, it was really nasty. Have you had it before? So sorry you've been feeling so rough. Sure you're not allergic to those rats?

charlietherednosedpussy · 28/12/2005 22:57

Ive had it but I can never spell it lol...Im not allergic to them although I would have wondered...got them the day after I got ill
They have been out today and were better, really have to fight to get them to come out the tank though, hopefully once they are more used to me they will come when called like the gerbys do.
I remember why I had a break from having rats, i used to have free range rats that just roamed. I hate seeing them cooped up...Then charlie the cat adopted me So I could let the rats roam and I cant let them roam and thats why I didnt replace the last one that died with another of the same....sighh..

OP posts:
charlietherednosedpussy · 28/12/2005 22:58

couldnt let them roam
