Hi all,

You all sound like you are having a rough time. I will re read through later and respond properly.

Thinking of you all

RichTeaAreCrap · 17/09/2011 19:10

Oh Grockle that sounds so awful you poor thing. I wonder what brought on such a bad attack. I really hope you are feeling a bit better today and are resting.

Pink - sorry you had a bad day too, feeling like a ferry is normal but horrible. I get bit breathless but it happens when I am panicking because of the dizziness. I know I do get very anxious. Could yours be this? I hope you are feeling better today though.

Grockle · 20/09/2011 19:55

I don't know what brought it on but it's been much better since - not perfect but bearable, which is good. I also told my line manager what has been going on today, which was a bit of a relief. She knew I'd been unwell on and off for months but not why.

It was DS's birthday party this weekend and I survived that, which was good - I was worried about feeling grotty in front of so many people.

How is everyone?

Grockle · 24/09/2011 21:25

Hoping everyone is ok.

pinkyp · 24/09/2011 22:01

Hello! I've been really good past few days, had less dizzy spells - still got plenty but it's mainly bad at night/early morning but more manageable. How is everyone else

essexgirl31 · 25/09/2011 17:36

Hi all,

Sorry for not being around - my internet connection is being awful again. SO frustrating.

So pleased it is more manageable for you pinky.

How are you Grockle - when do you get your MRI results? I hope you are feeling better. It sounds lke you have had a terrible time of it lately.

How are you RTAC -hope you are having a better time of it too

I've not been great - has been really hard mentally. I saw my neurophysio who reminded me the ups and downs are part of the recovery. I have to keep clinging onto that or I would break down I think. DS1 started school 2 weeks ago - the school playground freaks me out - I feel awful in it. It is all the goings on I think. I hate the fact I can't feel normal and just get on with it. I will get better, I will...

I will stop moaning now and be positive!!

RichTeaAreCrap · 26/09/2011 10:18

Hi ladies

Pink - so glad to hear you are having less dizzy spells, thats great news and hope it continues.

Essex, sorry to hear you haven't been too good. I understand what you mean about mentally - certain things make you panic and feel worse - I am 'scared' of certain things too and hate that all this has turned me into this person. I am afraid of eating out, can you believe that? The noise, waiting etc. I am going away next week too and I am so dreading the flight and the holiday because I am worried about being out in public places and not coping and then ruining the holiday.

Grockle, how are you?

I am seeing my doctor again on Wednesday to monitor my blood pressure - it had been too low on my medication so hoping that he can fix that - if not he is taking me off the meds and then I don't know what the next step will be.

I keep getting all this pressure in my neck and jaw and am sure my dizziness is linked but the gp says not. Fed up of it all.

essexgirl31 · 27/09/2011 12:15

Hi RTAC.

I hate eating out too. I end up sitting with my head in my hands. The lighting in restaurants is awful too. If you are going somewhere warm - maybe eating outside will be better.

Good luck with the GP tomorrow. Low blood pressure can make you feel bad so that probably doesn't help.

Hope everyone else is surviving

Grockle · 28/09/2011 07:40

Good luck with the GP rtac. And am glad pinky is feeling better. Dies the neurophysio help, Essex?

I don't know when my results will be in - it was meant to be at least 10 days but it's been over 2 weeks and I just want to get this sorted so I know what it is. It's been better over the last few days although I now have a cold/ fever thing and my ears hurt & my tinnitus is bad. Moan, moan, moan!

Grockle · 05/10/2011 09:16

Just checking in to see how you all are?

essexgirl31 · 05/10/2011 19:25

Me too!

Not great here but coming out of the awful couple of weeks I have had, Neurophysio app on friday.

Have you any results Grockle?

Grockle · 07/10/2011 19:38

No news for me - I've contacted the hospital but still not heard back. I'm fed up with the constant nausea and tinnitus.

How was your appointment?

pinkyp · 07/10/2011 23:19

Hello all. Had more dizziness again, not sleeping as much perhaps that could be why? I have other health probs (ibs / acid reflux) so feeling rubbish at the min. Thinking of going back to gp, mainly to keep him up to date rather than anything else. Good luck to those who have appointments, hope the results are good. Has anyone found a way to stop the dizziness when laying down? Would love to be able to lie down flat once in a while. What tabs is everyone else on?

essexgirl31 · 10/10/2011 12:33

Hi all,

Neurophysio appointment was good. She saw me on a bad day so she actually saw how unbalanced I have been. She adjusted my exercises and was reallt reassuring that the ups and downs are all part of the recovery.

Pinkyp - lack of sleep makes my dizziness much worse. I don't get dizziness laying down so I have no advice for you. I am not on any medication at all.

How are you Grockle?

aristocat · 10/10/2011 14:02

ladies ..... i have vertigo too Sad mine started from nowhere about 6 weeks ago and it is mostly getting in and out of bed/ reaching up or down for items (like washing machine, clothes rails)

anyway my GP prescribed me Betahistine tablets which didnt work so i went back to see him. then i had Brand-Dorff exercises to do and these have improved my dizziness when i am turning over in bed.

i had an appointment at ENT today because i also have slight hearing problem and the doctor did some finger/eye coordination tests and then made me lie on a bed and i went dizzy.

i need to go for an MRI scan next and have never had one before ...... are they as scary as i imagine?

i searched weeks ago for a thread like this and couldnt find you - will read the thread now but wanted to share Smile

Grockle · 11/10/2011 10:34

So glad the physio is helping, Essex. Fid you ho back yo the GP pinky? Welcome aristocat. I'm not the best one to comment on MRIs as mine was quite uncomfortable but most people say they are fine. I was ok til they put the cage over my face but that freaked me out. Had I been warned about it, I'd have been ok.

I'm home from work this morning after a horrible vertigo attack at 7 this morning. I'm feeling very much better now so going to work. I called my GP as I was being sick and it's so miserable it was making me cry but he said there's nothing else to fo but take the buccastem and wait it out.

Apparently the consultant is going to contact me today.

essexgirl31 · 11/10/2011 19:26

Hi aristocat. Welcome. Wish you didn't have to be here! I didn't find my MRI scary.

Grockle - did you Consultant call? Hope all is ok

Grockle · 11/10/2011 22:05

My MRI was fine, apparently. Which is good news but I don't feel relieved, just frustrated that I feel so unwell so often at the moment and I don't know why.

I feel like big failure and am quite miserable (can you tell?!) I don't know what to do now. I want to cry but I can't

Sorry for the self-indulgent whine. Sad

LargeGlassofRed · 12/10/2011 06:36

Can I join your group? my vertigo started 3 weeks ago it's awful!!
I've been in hospital a week as they think I've got neurosarcoidosis, I had an MRI on Friday that showed multiple White leasions ?
I have s tilt test today, just want it to end!

Grockle · 12/10/2011 09:49

Sorry you are joining us LargeGlass but welcome. DO you know what will happen now? Sounds scary. Take good care.

LargeGlassofRed · 12/10/2011 10:58

Grockle - not sure wants happening next still waiting for doctors to get back to me, they just tried me with a walking frame and stick but it made it worse, as they aren't stable. I am better holding a wall ior focusing on something that isn't moving.

aristocat · 12/10/2011 14:23

thanks for the welcome ladies Smile

i am just waiting for a date for the MRI, but i am much more relaxed about it than i was on Monday. it can only be a good thing and they might even find whats wrong with me?

LargeGlass hope you get some answers and take care of yourself

how are you today Grockle hope the sickness has passed, Sad that your dizzy spells last hours - i cant imagine how you cope day to day.

essex you too, has DS settled into school nicely? hope you are having a good few days Smile

essexgirl31 · 12/10/2011 18:47

Hi all,

Welcome LargeGlass - wish you were not suffering too. I am assuming the vertigo can be a symptom of neurosarcoidosis. Have you had any other symptoms? I hope they sort you out soon.

Grockle - I felt exactly the same after my MRI - I almost wanted something to be found so something could be done. Although I do know it was good nothing sinister was found!

Aristocat - it is a good thing to have one done - either to show something or not!! DS1 has settled in well. Thank you for asking. I still struggle with the playground! Too much for my dizziness. Today hasn't been so good. Had to use the tube - fine on the actual tube but changing tubes at Bank station was hell. I veered to the right and wanted to cling onto the wall. Safely home now and feeling slightly less off balance.

LargeGlassofRed · 12/10/2011 19:46

Thanks Aristocat, and Essex, can't imagine it ever getting better, I know how you have coped so long.
They tried me with a walking frame and a stick today but I found it made it worse as they move, I'm better walking holding a wall or something.
They have given my eye excersises to do which is just slowing moving my eyes to left and right. The brain is elastic apparently and the more you practice and excersises it the better, according to physio, I've been practicing today and even managed to walk to get a coffee today, albeit clinging to the wall the whole way :-).
Hope you get some answers aristocat, I know what you mean about them
Finding something, at least then you feel you have a visible reason fir feeling so awful.

LargeGlassofRed · 12/10/2011 19:49

Sorry crap typing have double vision and typing on phone.
