Oh bugger. Dp just called to say he's not going to be back until 12.30am. He's usually back around 10-ish on a Wednesday which is bad enough ...

OP posts:
charliecat · 02/11/2005 23:07

FFS what the hell is he doing?

mummylonglegs · 03/11/2005 10:36

Cc, you gotta stop creeping in like that at the last moment! See, I missed you again. He was working far far over the other side of town and the tubes were down so he had to bus it back.

OP posts:
charliecat · 03/11/2005 10:37

Aw man...your not rich for all these shitey hours are you?

mummylonglegs · 03/11/2005 12:08

Gawd, no, cc. If only! We work so bloody hard between us but we're still struggling to make ends meet and the thought of a holiday away somewhere is so hard to imagine. We'd love it.

OP posts:
mummylonglegs · 03/11/2005 12:29

You didn't creep up that time, cc!

OP posts:
charliecat · 03/11/2005 16:09

You will have to go camping next summer. Its good fun , honest...and even though you are in a tent with half a field of insects its great for the kids and nice not to be home...IYKWIM.

mummylonglegs · 03/11/2005 16:30

I can't face it, cc. I know you and drop are fans but AGH!!! I could stay in a caravan. But yes, yes, I know dd would love it, a tent I mean. BUT we don't have a car and can't drive so were / how would we transport tent stuff to somewhere holiday-ish?

OP posts:
charliecat · 03/11/2005 16:59

Ok those 10 quid sun holidays then :0

charliecat · 04/11/2005 16:08

Wheres everyone swanned off to again?
DP has been at home for the last week and its been interesting watching him. He gets out of bed and I think, trys not to smoke too early to waking up (I used to get out of bed an aim for the back door) and then when he starts to think about going outside for a fag his lubgs start to itch and he starts to cough...which mentally is telling him not to smoke, but the addicitons still there, so he goes outside and smokes in between little coughs and then comes in and spews up the lining of his lungs.
Its not 4 oclockish and his lungs are still gently coughing up the tar and its not shifting. Hes beginging to look like the smoker off the adverts for adverts for nicotine patches/chewing gum? who you just look at and think OMG..Listen to your body mannnnnnnnnn

mummylonglegs · 04/11/2005 18:53

cc, you gave a very good picture of a smoking addict! I remember SO well the need for that first one of the day and my irritability until I'd started it ...

I haven't been around as been madly busy with all sorts of stuff. Today I took dd to the hospital again re. her eye and they've put her on the operating waiting list but I'll be very glad for her to get this sorted out now.

OP posts:
charliecat · 04/11/2005 18:59

mummylonglegs · 05/11/2005 13:56

Sorry, cc, had to rush off yesterday evening and then miraculously dp came home early so we watched a DVD together. When did we last do that???

Dd's had some cysts in her eyelids for a while now, actually around the time I visited drop, she might remember dd's eye. Well it got worse and worse and one of them came through her eyelid right out to the other side. It's been like a little bag of pus for 2 months. It bursts then fills up again. We've been hoping it would resolve itself but the eye specialist says it won't and could lead to nasty scar tissue on her bottom lid and even restrict her eye movement so they've put her on the surgery list. It's not a huge operation but of course any general anaesthetic is scary especially in a small child. And hospital infections are scary too. I keep hoping it might just 'get better' by itself before the surgery date comes up.

It's been just another of the things that have been driving me slightly nuts with stress over this last few months. It's a sheer miracle I haven't turned to evil nicotine!

  • a miracle and thanks to you oh whiskered one!
