saf - that sounds pants. Why can't they just replace current boiler with a new combi? Would be much cheaper surely? We changed ours from 35 year old tank and old boiler size of a huge freezer couple of years back to a combi. Cost about £2k but thought that would be cheaper than doing it other way round
