morning dubs. i'm poorly Sad

you'll have to make my coffee

BrianAndHisBalls · 28/12/2010 09:43

Got a ketchup question for you all Grin

Its very trivial.

Dd1 doesn't eat much, will try some things but generally dislikes everything We have tried lots and lots and now generally let her get on with it. Anyway, one thing she does like is ketchup or french mustard with everything. So......

(you all bored yet????)

BrianAndHisBalls · 28/12/2010 09:54

Last time we went down to relatives they made big roast, was lovely, but dd requested ketchup. There was then quite a big hoo-ha (i sound like my gran) over the bloody ketchup.

Basically the 'relatives' kept going on and on about how disgraceful it was to have ketchup with a roast and wrong etc. THen one of their children saw dd1 having it and wanted it and they were all 'Dont be ridiculous you don't have ketchup with a roast, no you're not having it' etc.

So my parents got quite annoyed and were saying that if they kept going on about it it was going to give dd1 a complex and just to leave her alone.

So....

TotalChaos · 28/12/2010 09:56

Ketchup is veg, practically one of the five a day

BrianAndHisBalls · 28/12/2010 09:57

we got down there this time and they'd made a roast so dd1 requests ketchup again

So my B starts saying you can have bread sauce instead you're not having ketchup blah blah blah. SIL again 'you can't have ketchup with that' etc. My B just said 'no'. My D got up went to the cupboard and got it for dd anyway.

My D was then taking photographs and my B kept saying 'take that ketchup bottle off the table if you're taking photographs'.

So - my question. Is it really bad for dd1 to eat tomato sauce with stuff? Is it considered 'rude'? Confused And, more importantly, why do B and SIL care?????

Grin @ dubs and Total x

SantaIsAnAnagramOfSatan · 28/12/2010 10:09

just snobbery and nobbery is my diagnosis.

if it makes her eat then who gives a toss. it's that desperate clambering of the middle class and new money. as if somehow a bit of ketchup will expose them as common little toads or something.

SantaIsAnAnagramOfSatan · 28/12/2010 10:10

and thanks for the sympathy dubs - it's so hard to come by Smile

TotalChaos · 28/12/2010 10:12

Most of the hassle of having a fussy eater is other people judgy pants reaction.. Its ketchup not crack. Gavel.
