vinny - could the hot flushes be thyroid playing up again? from what I recall you were borderline overactive when you got tested, so they were just waiting and seeing? might be worth a trip to docs again.

TC - Luckily we were staying at our friends place and they were there at the time. DH (who has pretty good French) and my fluent friend took DD2 off to the hospital so all sorted ok. I would have gone for the pointing at the blood and a face to communicate

And would quite like to come and see us while we are on holiday.
The guy who ended up coming with us the last time we were on holiday.
The same BIL who moved out of FIL's 3 weeks after MIL died and didn't even have the cojones to tell him that was what he was doing.

I think my phone may conveniently have a flat battery for the next week.

Oh, believe me, we intend to. To some it may be a week at Butlins and the inner circle of Hell.

To us, it's our first family holiday, just us. Our little unit.

Last time we tried we ended up with BIL, SIL and 4 extra kids turning up.

But unfortunately, as FIL is very kindly having the dog, we can't keep our plans secret.
