Well, I'm just here for the banter and a chance to talk bollox, and we also do weight loss, WATER drinking (I'm the 'ficcial water monitor, and I have a badge), and heart to hearts..

I am the Mittz(not Mitts), I need to lose about 10lb, but get my head straight in the process..

I am sure one of my lovely companions will be along shortly......

Wow. I'll read that soon, I've got such a pile of reading to do. I'm a really slow reader. A good reader, but very slow, it's annoying.

Yes Fluff, Bad Science is a bit challenging. I read it really quickly though, the anger and annoyance was like a pleasant itch and I had to keep scratching it.

I've been trying to read shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein for weeks now. It's so depressingly angry-making I can hardly bear it, and only ever read a few pages at a time.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 30/07/2010 23:03

I'm the other way - I read ridiculously fast. It annoys me when I am reading a good book tht I can get through it in a couple of days.

Means I can re-read endlessly though, I only remember the bare bones of the story so I can enjoy it again.

FluffyCut · 30/07/2010 23:12

have got freakonomics too.

bad science not finding it hard as in long words but i think its because im not interested at all in science so all the experiments he talks of im sort of i love the conclusions just not the actual scienceybit

i used to read kurt vonnegut, sigh.

oh and i love that marge piercy woman on the edge of time, fantastic. miitz would like that i bet and that doublecreature.

that shock doctrine sounds fab, just looked it up.

right, for the 8th time tonight, bed. x

wastingaway · 30/07/2010 23:17

Yeah, we've got Freakonomics too, not read that one yet.

Night Fluff.

Bitter, DH reads really quickly too, so

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 30/07/2010 23:22

Oh Kurt is my favourite write fluff. I love him. Seriously love him.

I'm having a crap evening. H has just walked out. Holiday is not looking promising.

At least when watching the IT crowd h revealed that he also thought the saying was 'damp squid'. Made me chuckle anyway.

I don't want to have to walk away, but I think I'm stupid not to.

Tc sorry you're having drama too. Hope you don't get a visit.

Night all. I'm sick of the nightmares too. It makes me put off sleep even though I'm exhausted

Shit, I promised myself I wouldn't cry tonight! Argh!

Make me stop

Mouseface · 30/07/2010 23:33

Bitter - cheeky mare. Good job I like you.

Crunchy - I hope you sleep well. Will fb you some sleep suggestions tomorrow. Mittz sent me some fab tea..... will get the name.

Please don't cry. xx

Night all, I'm pooped.

This reduced drinking lark is hard.

xx

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 30/07/2010 23:36

Sleep well mouse. You're doing brilliantly

X

Crunch lovey... thinking of you, words fail me, take real good care of you, the sleep thing is pants.. I still have nightmares xx

I don't read much fiction, mostly reference books, at the moment about the Wall of China and the history of stained Glass windows. Nothing stays in my brain though. I wonder sometimes if my head injury affected that part of my brain because I used to remember everything, now it just slides away from me.

But might take a look at the book fluff recommended,, maybe a good read would be part of my moving forward.

It's quiet, no DC's, I miss them but need it. I wish there was a man to roll into for some of the time.

Am planning to paint most of the day, and a walk or run and the garden later.

xx

Morning Mittz. It's quiet this morning. Enjoy your day, sounds lovely.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 31/07/2010 09:44

DH has taken DS to pick up the dog so I only have DD with me today.

Good morning all

Back from holidays, was fab, in work but have just handed in my notice, yay!

V fat after too much food/wine and no exercise (took my running gear and was a fab woodland track near the beach that I could have ran on, but I left that to the lithe Germans and Ducth ).

How is everyone?

Double, I swam in your Atlantic, it is freezing but very lovely.

Hey Lizzy, good to see you back, hope you had a nice time.

Yes Saf, what was your old lady thing?

wastingaway · 31/07/2010 10:12

Sound good, I watched the X Files movie cos I couldn't be bothered to get off the sofa to put a DVD in. (and I am still in love with David Duchovny, after all these years)

I've got the new Sherlock Holmes to watch tonight.

Lizzylou · 31/07/2010 10:22

Wasting, DH watched that Sherlock Holmes DVD the other week, he loved it.

Bitter, how are you?

My nose is peeling, it is far from my best feature anyway, I look gorgeous, dress too tight and peeling snout, hurrah.

Mittz · 31/07/2010 10:24

Sherlock Holmes is good Wasting.. can I come and watch it with you

Dunno what I will watch tonight. Haven't seen Tarrentino's Death-Proof for a while. Could treat myself to a bottle of schloer

My next long weekend off I might try to plan try socialise a little. (gets out spreadsheet to see which Shiner is nearest)

wastingaway · 31/07/2010 10:25

Lizzy, sounds like you look like you've been on holiday and will therefore have an inner light of holiday-ness as well.

I'm looking forward to the DVD, never usually bother. £2 from the library, bargain!

Mittz · 31/07/2010 10:26

Sorry Lizzy, but snorted at your description of yourself. My nose goes a peculiar shade of red/brown at this time of year and I have to powder it muchly.

Alicetheinvisible · 31/07/2010 10:27

Lizzy - i started watching Gavin and Stacey last night, i forgot how funny the first episode is

Why does DD think now is a good time to not want to wear nappies anymore? Oh well, i suppose scrubbing floors is meant to be good in late pregnancy....

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 31/07/2010 10:29

I spend a lot of this time of year looking like I have been laminated. The glare you get off of my shiny forehead is incredible!

I'm good thanks Lizzy - just enjoying the peace and quiet without DS being here.
