Well, I'll raise you, I have a few qualifications, the most important to me that you could get with tokens from a petrol station and my CV makes me look stupid and I'm not even actually qualified to do anything.

So ra ra yada yada yourself.

And I do care.

Night x

Mittz · 21/07/2010 07:11

There is something reassuring about how much you guys talk!

Thanks for all the support . I kept DS off school yesterday and we went for a walk and I spoilt him a bit and let him vent when he needed to. Feeling a little less anxious this morning. The police are being absolutely amazing and DS has had some support from mates which has done him a lot of good (he was sure everyone would avoid him and see him as the bad guy).

He has 3 trips this week..Soccer-Dome, Paint-balling and Elton Towers so lots of fun and a chance to unwind and forget about it all.

DD is away for 3 days . It will be great for her, romping in the woods making camps and god knows what else.

Teaaaaaaa!

I'll borrow your parents Bitter. Do they decorate as well? I was half way through painting the living room when everything kicked off so have chaos and a half painted front room. My idea of hell....

Right,

I'm not sure what I am going to do but I always feel brisk and efficient if I say Right......

NormaSknockers · 21/07/2010 07:19

Mittz good call keeping DS off, will have done him good to have some time with you & be able to vent when he needed to. Pleased to hear the police are dealing with it well too, hopefully this nasty piece of work will get what's coming to him.

Hope DD has a lovely time, is a trip with the school?

Yaaaaaaaank!! Good to see you been too long, good on you for getting to the gym well done! How's things with work? How's that gorgeous DS of yours?

Off to do my shop this morning (with the aid of my list & meal plan thank you for sending that on Jet ) taking a friend & her DS with me as she doesn't drive & where we live the nearest supermarket is a good 20 minute drive away so asked if her she needed to go seeings as I was going anyway & she practically bit my arm off It wasn't too long ago it was me not being able to drive so I know what it's like.

Please tell me it's Friday yes?

New thread soon me thinks,

Are you out there Shiney? Hope you're ok

jetcat · 21/07/2010 07:41

morning all

Yank - so good to see you Well done on the loss, and the job applications. You will be snapped up soon i am sure

Mittz - sounds like you had a lovely day with DS, just what both of you need.

Jaq - a good food shop sounds like a plan - i will send you my list if it will help? I hate it when we are on the last couple of days before a proper shop, as as you say, you end up eating all kinds of things you know you shouldnt Or in my case, those couple of days turned into 2 weeks

I just went to dry mini's school dress after a quick wash - tumble drier is broke Now trying to figure out how/where to dry all the washing while it is chucking it down

BitOfFun · 21/07/2010 08:24

I put Dd2 to bed at the usuall time. She dd n't stop messing about, shouting, coming down, eating, needing changed and generally being a huge pain in the arse until four fucking am. I swear she didn't even close her eyes.

I even went to post here in despair, but the server was down for maintenance, that's how late it was.

Of course now she is in a vile mood, so I've given up and let her go back to sleep. Which means she will probably sleep until I drop off, then wake shrieking and I will have to borrow my mum's car and drive her in whilst looking like an enraged zombie.

Ho hum.

TrillianAstra · 21/07/2010 08:38

Morning. Haven't read all.. but I did spot a brief appearance from our oft-absent leader.

Just drinking earl grey.

DreamsInBinary · 21/07/2010 08:45

Morning

Norma - I only started driving just before DS (4) was born and I was so grateful when my sister took me to the supermarket, you lovely thing.

YY to Trill drinking Earl Grey - it's just so right

TrillianAstra · 21/07/2010 09:01

Haha DIB - you can't call me posh

DreamsInBinary · 21/07/2010 09:10

Ah, but I looked in the mirror this morning, and it told me that Trill was the poshest of them all.

Better watch out for that woodcutter...

Bitter - did I say that I'm so pleased you spoke to DH? If not, I am

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 21/07/2010 09:21

Morning

Earl Grey tastes like perfume, I'm not keen. I'm being quite fussy recently aren't I?

Mittz, you are welcome to my parents - the only catch is you have to book them about a year in advance and even then there is a good chance they'll be busy.

Sorry for sleepless night Bof.

Norma, alhough I passed my test when I was 18, I have spent a good few years without a car (wasn't insured on DH's when I lost my company car.)Lifts were always gratefully received - that's a kind thing to do.

DIB, not as pleased as I am but thankyou.

Sports day this morning so I have to go back to school in a bit.Gorgeous weather for it.

MumAlwaysKnows · 21/07/2010 09:34

Norma - quick question - carrot cake.
DO you throw all ingrediants in bowl and use whisk or do you made by hand addiing carrot at egg stage? Am trying to write some boy friendly instructions so that he can make unaided.

MumAlwaysKnows · 21/07/2010 09:39

Yank it was lovely to see you had popped in last night. sorry to have missed you.

Mittz - nice to see you had a good day with ds yesterday. How is this week looking? thursday any good? Can wheld paint brush if needed in return for a coffee.

wastingaway · 21/07/2010 09:52

Morning!

I love Earl Grey.

Being a secret geek, I must say 'Earl Grey, hot.'

MAK, my Blue Peter carrot cake recipe circa 1989 has no eggs. Carrot added last.

I'd like to drive now I think. I didn't used to bothered, but I don't like not having the option to just take DS to softplay, or buy a couple of large bags of compost at once.

Mittz · 21/07/2010 09:57

Bloody awful Mum... sorry as this is our last week before DC's break up. But I am still crazy busy, DD has a school event tomorrow afternoon when I go to pick her up, and just life!

I feel your pain BoF... are you busy today or can you chill?

I can't drive, this is generally better for humanity all round.

Yank xx

Where's Crispy?

It's Friday Norma

TrillianAstra · 21/07/2010 10:02

at wasting - I don't think he had it with milk though, and I like it with milk. Did the computer think he might want 'Earl Grey, cold'?

LollipopViolet · 21/07/2010 10:06

Tired, tired and more tired.

Went to the pub and was pretty good. Did eat but it was berries in low fat frozen yoghurt. Also had some cider, not so good, but I'll do some Wii Fit today and hopefully it won't have completely trashed my weight loss!

My lovely mum has ordered me EA Sports Active as well.

Can't wait for next week, spa on Wednesday, shopping for the festival on Thursday with everyone then leaving for it on Friday morning! All 4 of us who are travelling and camping together were at the pub last night and it was SO much fin, it's going to be a great weekend!

wastingaway · 21/07/2010 10:07

Americans drink more ice tea than hot I think.
Funny how British he was when he was supposed to be French.

MumAlwaysKnows · 21/07/2010 10:11

Norma gave me a fab recipie yesterday that can be made milk free so will use that cos a lot of sodding recipies for carrot cake use yoghurt etc which is just no good for complete milk free diet.

No prob mittz. ds is school until wednesday next week. he gets his report friday and we find out who his teacher is. then monday we get to look at his work from this year and meet his new teacher finding out where the hell in the maze of a new school building he will be and where he needs to be dropped off. Its a shame as they are having a play day on wednesday and ds will have to miss most of it as he has a hospital appointment. will have to check time and whether it can be worked around a bit.

Must remember to take him to get glasses fied tonight.
