Just back from the pictures, saw Inception- it was brilliant.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 19/07/2010 23:48

Bof, I'm off to bed, but please give me details - DH really fancies it, I don't know what it's about.

I'm not sure I do! It was all about dreams, and dreams-within-dreams, and the dangers of forgetting what is real. Superb acting, and the most amazing special effects you're likely to see. And an actor in it who is such a spooky doppelganger for Heath Ledger it's uncanny. I really recommend it.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 19/07/2010 23:58

Saf, do you want me to phone you?

Double, I watched that as well, was

Bof, is it really Hollywood? The last few films I've enjoyed have been Spanish, I hate the Hollywood 'throw effects and money at it, and sod the story' mentality.

Right, I'm guessing Saf is playing scrabble with Alice and Bof is making mischief on another thread or something, so I am actually going to bed.

Night all, I heart you all xx

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/07/2010 00:08

Just catching up with the Dr Pepper thread. It wasn't too Hollywood for me at all- it was a clever idea with a big budget behind it though. The effects certainly don't substitute for the story, but they are necessary to it.

Morning all

BOF I had no idea what that saying meant on the Dr Pepper thread Was handy someone explained it

Dreading weigh in tomorrow, I have seriously binged these past few days & I don't even know why, perhaps I could fast all day today....

Tea anyone?

Mittz · 20/07/2010 07:48

Morning all .

A bit out of sorts at the moment.

DS was 'attacked' on Sunday night, by a lad who had previously 't-bagged' him , and recently done it to another lad. Involved the police as DS was bruised, scared and humiliated as it was also of a sexual nature. A 'mate' of his held him down whilst part of the incident took place and DS swings between putting it out of his mind and worrying about the enormity of it all. The police mentioned Restorative Justice where no official action needed to be taken but said that because of this lads record and the nature of the incident, they can not take this course even if it was what we preferred.

He had also been punched and kicked at school on friday by two lads who said sorry but I think he has about had enough. He seems to be a very easy target.

Feeling a bit emotional and overwhelmed after other stuff that has happened and seem to keep crumpling. Am still stupidly busy and exhausted and feel 'ill' but I guess that is stress or something.

So I haven't caught up, and it will probably be a day or so before I do so.

Gah... sorry to start the day with a glum post but am out today so wanted to post. I think I need to come up with a plan to make things a bit more normal..

So, catch up soon, take care, luvs and snogs to you all xx

NormaSknockers · 20/07/2010 07:55

Mittz, I don't what to say. I am absoloutely appalled by what your DS has suffered at the hands of these bullies (though Bully doesn't seem enough to describe the pieces of filth) poor DS what an awful thing for him to go through & awful for you too.

I am so sorry.

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 20/07/2010 07:59

Oh mittz how terrible!, your poor dd, I'm glad you involved the police, that sounds horrendous! I'm not surprsised you feel overwhelmed. Are you ok?

Saf did you sleep? I was up from four. Bad dream about a badger. How that is possible I don't know. But I couldn't sleep afterwards!

TotalChaos · 20/07/2010 08:02

your poor DS, am sorry he's had so much to go through, glad the police are involved.

Alicetheinvisible · 20/07/2010 08:05

Mittz how dreadful. I really hope your DS is ok, Big hugs and cake to you all

I am feeling murderous this morning. The trickle of water down the outside of the house ended up coming through our kitchen roof at midnight, so i have been up every 2hrs to turn the tap on to ease off the water pressure despite the water being turned off So i have no water, no flushable loo, can't use the washing machine or the dishwasher and i have told DH that if the plumber doesn't come out to fix it this morning i am off to my grandmas!

I have also got a huge fly buzzing around which is going to get the laptop thrown at it if it doesn't fuck off!

bellavita · 20/07/2010 08:39

Morning.

Mittz, I am glad you came and posted, are you keeping DS off school this week?

Oh Alice, poor you. Hope you get it sorted out.

Norma, just go back to what you would eat normally, it will be fine

DreamsInBinary · 20/07/2010 08:50

Mittz - a flying post to say that I am so sorry your lovely boy is having a hard time. If tea-bagging is what I think it is, then this is nasty, serious stuff. I bet you are dealing with it wonderfully, though. He is lucky to have you as his Mum.

wastingaway · 20/07/2010 08:55

Morning all! DS fell out of bed during the night, he was all tangled in his duvet, halfway across the floor this morning, but he still let me sleep til 7.30. The luxury.

Alice, I bloody hope the plumber gets out to you asap. Our hot water went off the week I was due and all I wanted was a bloody bath!

Mittz, glad to hear from you. So sorry for DS. I think getting the police involved is absolutely the right idea.
I think it's great when kids play out these days instead of stuck to their Xbox, but I was thinking, maybe it might be better to get him into structured activities for a while, take the pressure off. Thinking a football team, drama club, youthclub.
Socialising, but with adult supervision.

Bumped for you Bella.
