...even though I'm not remotely left wing? I think he was treated appallingly by the Labour Party.

That’s because he wasn’t anti semitic as people claim. It was a distraction tactic during his campaign.

Right. Except he was virulantly antisemitic supporting vile murals and associating with antisemitic terrorists groups and inviting them to parliament. He turned the Labour Party into a hostile place for Jews and most left. It was investigated by the EHRC and he refused to accept the conclusion. Do you think he would have done so if the investigation was about any other sort of racism?

Further up the thread you will see anti Semitic views from your St Jeremy.

Can someone just tell us exactly what he has done or said that has him labelled as anti- Semitic?

As far as I can see from that document it's still not bloody clear exactly how JC is anti semitic? Except maybe it needs to polish up its complaints procedures!

A fish rots from its head, JC had antisemitism running through his party and didn't deal with it. Not a fan of KS but he has weeded it out so credit to him. Categorically you may not be able to directly link JC with actual direct antisemitism to Jews, but he didn't tackle it and also refused to call hamas terrorists until forced to - he referred to them as friends once. And also he stands alongside protestors who are clearly against the Jewish race. He doesn't stand alongside Jews at their rallies.

decionsdecisions62 · 05/07/2024 16:24

@blackcherryconserve all I can see are heresy rumours and wild extrapolations that seem to be countered by other views. Have people jumped on the bandwagon here?

I will say it again. What actual evidence is there of these anti semitic views? Is there an enquiry? A police investigation? What?

It was hard to miss. But my point is that Starmer has not won this election. Labour only won because the Tory vote was split with Reform.

Corbyn would have been a gift to the Tories. No way would their vote have collapsed in the same way if the prospect was PM Corbyn.

Tory voters weren’t that scared of the prospect of a Starmer government. Guess who worked hard to make it that way?

Erm, he has won this election. He’s now prime minister with a majority of MP seats.

If you don’t have enough MPs to form parliament then you haven’t won. Corbyn won nothing. His campaign record is inferior to Starmer and will be forevermore because Magic Grandpa and his advisors were too thick to realise that electioneering requires laser focus and a winning strategy.

Absolute number of votes means very little. That’s why the Lib Dems have over 60 seats and Reform have 4, despite the latter having a higher number of votes.

Bobsanidiot · 05/07/2024 16:37

Not all Jews believe Corbyn to be anti semitic. Some Jews even support the Palestinian struggle.

We support the right of the Palestinians to self-determination and oppose the oppression of the Palestinian people by the apartheid state of Israel. This is not done in our name.
We oppose attempts to widen the definition of antisemitism beyond its meaning of hostility towards or discrimination against Jews as Jews. We take action against the weaponisation of antisemitism and its use to prevent criticism of Israel and support for Palestinian rights.
“Always with the oppressed, never with the oppressor.”

When someone wheels out Jewish Voice for Labour, that’s when you know they know fuck-all about the discussion around antisemitism in Labour. JVP were on the side of the antisemites.

He supports Palestine and always has.
He stands up to the mud slinging dished out by extremists.

Glad he won!

He supports Hamas.

Erm, the Equality & human rights commission’s independent review into it!?

i love your indignation without doing even the most cursory of google searches…

I mean... if Islington wants him as their representative they are welcome to him. I think he's a dim ideologically fuddled antisemitic piece of trash.

Are you the owner of a mainstream tabloid?

Good to know idiot propaganda still works.

Muthaofcats · 05/07/2024 18:21

It’s so weird to me that the ‘JC left wing extremists’ who pride themselves on being morally virtuous and decent seem to have a total blind spot for the anti semitism thing. It doesn’t seem to matter what evidence is laid in front of them, even the equality and human rights commissions findings aren’t enough. I just wonder if it’s wilful blindness or something worse ? Is it like the Holocaust deniers or nova festival rape deniers ? Just for some reason an absolute empathy failing for one tiny minority whilst otherwise being the first to champion anti racism. The hypocrisy is really confusing to me.

The one that found not even 0.1% of the party had complaints against it? The one that Corbyn got suspended for saying it was massively overblown and was also correct in that assessment?

And they say propaganda doesn’t work anymore, I tells ya.

The good people are the ones supporting Israel in its god given right to bomb people into submission.

decionsdecisions62 · 05/07/2024 18:24

@Muthaofcats have you actually read the review? I don't feel that the mishandling of two complaints doesn't warrant the title the tabloids labelled him with. How many managers mishandle complaints across business every day? This reeks of a witch hunt to me!

How?

TheWayTheLightFalls · 05/07/2024 18:26

I'll just sit here quietly while the ball drops. Take all the time you need.

Sharrap · 05/07/2024 18:26

I hear he is an MP who shows a lot of commitment to his constituents, so if locals like him, great - they’ve got him.

I think he’s a sanctimonious, know-it-all little prick.And I AM left wing.

There was an independent review by the EHRC.

No one wants war, hamas should give up the hostages and remains of hostages that they are keeping. Absolute vermin.
So many innocent civilians been killed and injured as a direct result of hamas actions, a godless wicked terrorist group that jc refererred to as friends once.
