Wow, Stroud is another wealthy place.

Labour take Nuneaton, a real bellwether seat.

EsmaCannonball · 05/07/2024 01:49

Nuneaton is the first place where the Reform vote possibly cost the Tories their seat.

EsmaCannonball · 05/07/2024 01:51

Labour gain Darlington.

Rachel Reeves and Dan Jarvis both hold their seats.

The real story for me at the moment is how badly the Tories are doing in the vote. I knew they would lose but they're not even coming in second place in most places.

Woo, blimmin' 'eck. Harrogate is posh. Love Betty's.

It's not all posh, I can assure you!

EsmaCannonball · 05/07/2024 02:06

I think it's cruel that all these Tories are losing their seats and the telly isn't even showing it. We deserve to see some crestfallen losers.

duc748 · 05/07/2024 02:09

Surely the lesson is, people really hate the Tories, and want rid. Whether they vote, maybe unenthusiastically, for Labour, or for Reform, they don't want a Tory government.

EnglishBluebell · 05/07/2024 02:10

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in whatever room Rishi's in right now

Reading this thread, I see that everybody who has mentioned the reform party has expressed utter hatred for it and everybody in it.

I have watched a couple of videos where Farage has laid out their manifesto and it seems that he wants to make Britain great again. I cannot understand why the people on this thread think this is a bad thing.

We already have 10 million recent immigrants, who are putting a massive strain on our benefits system and most are young men with very outdated ideas about women.

I cannot understand why you as women want more and more coming in. it's like a silent invasion, and why you are all standing by applauding and cheering it and demonizing anybody who wants to put a halt to it. I think you all need to have a word with yourselves.

Apparently lots of recounts in Scotland, presumably because the numbers are close?

pinboard · 05/07/2024 02:16

@OtterMouse I was wondering how to reply to @Tarquina !

pinboard · 05/07/2024 02:18

@Appalonia if so I can imagine some challenges? Scotland was hugely disproportionately affected by the postal vote delay fiasco. Many folk are on holiday now as the Scottish Schools broke up a week ago. I know 6 familes just from my small village who didn't get their papers in time. What a mess.

Appalonia · 05/07/2024 02:18

Reform have won in Ashfield.
