Is that not allowed then ? Seems to me he’s been offered gifts and accepted some ? Does that make him a bad person -no.

thestudio · 02/07/2024 16:51

He declared it though? And it's within the law? Ok great all sorted.

This.

LadyKenya · 02/07/2024 16:52

🥱

NeverDropYourMooncup · 02/07/2024 16:53

So, who declared more, then?

DragonFly98 · 02/07/2024 16:53

And that is a problem because?

LivingDeadGirlUK · 02/07/2024 16:54

And...?

itsnotabouthepasta · 02/07/2024 16:54

It’s the ones who don’t declare it you have to worry about…

I suspect he’s not accepted any more than anyone else…he’s just been honest and admitted to it and done it by the book as he should.

non story

MrsTerryPratchett · 02/07/2024 16:56

When I worked for the Council we weren't allowed to accept anything. I don't know why someone higher up the chain should be able to.

Government employees shouldn't. State gifts are different.

equisetum · 02/07/2024 16:58

Well he will be stopping work at 6pm every Friday, so whist the country goes to the dogs over the weekends, he will need tickets for events. Bless him.

Pipsqueaker · 02/07/2024 17:00

I don’t care.

CheshireCat1 · 02/07/2024 17:01

Good for him.

Another for this 👆

At least he wasn't made a Lord by his desperate mates like some people. Looking at you Cameron.

Has he broken the law?

That's funny. I work for the council and we are, up to a limit. We have to declare all of them. Not that I get any 😂

Good man. I hope he can ring fence his Friday night dinners with his family as much as possible. No doubt he will be working plenty on the other 6 and two thirds days.

Any chance of sharing the actual article @nearlylovemyusername rather than just the clickbaity title?

EmmaGrundyForPM · 02/07/2024 17:07

God the Tories are getting desperate aren't they?

Good for him! How wife is Jewish and Friday dinner will be very important. Braverman spoke about her in laws Friday dinners. I'm quite sure he will have plenty of advisors who will get in touch with him quickly if required. It's interesting how low some Tories will stoop

Who are the MPs who received more freebies than Starmer?

InMySpareTime · 02/07/2024 17:13

In this Byline Times article, Sunak received £101,000 from donors in just 8 months for plane and helicopter trips. Is the problem that Starmer should have taken more freebies, or do Sunak's freebies not count?

Keir Starmer accepted £76,000 of freebies

Copy and paste the details of the others, then. Or just type them, like you did his.

You were implying he was doing something underhand. You got schooled, and now you're changing your tune.
