The bottom line is this: taking gifts is a bad look. Both parties have been guilty of it. Only one is now considering doing something about it. Why did the other not consider it while they were in office?

Article is behind paywall and I exhausted my sharing limit. Google reposts

All I'm saying is that he's the same as everyone else. And he's not even in power yet

Yeah he's just like that lying, racist, multiple woman-impregnating, elitist, cheating fuck wit Boris.

NOT! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Kemi Badenoch (potential LOTO) has declared a lot of freebies including Ed Sheeran tickets and said she will continue as "it's a way to spend time with her children while working". Yet still condemns Labour.

It's rank hypocrisy.

To be fair to Kemi Badenoch, her register of interests only shows 4 sets of hospitality freebies since 2019 - including the 3 events mentioned in your link. By comparison, the Guardian reported that Keir Starmer had registered 40 sets of free tickets - 10 times as many.

Oh hiya ToryHQ 👋

Why do posters do this? It's as if no-one could support anything but Labour. Just imagine 🙄
PS It's not funny either, if that was the intention.

And that makes it OK, does it?
I think he's going to have to do better than Not As Bad As Boris, although that seems to be the go-to justification around here.

Well he will be stopping work at 6pm every Friday, so whist the country goes to the dogs over the weekends, he will need tickets for events. Bless him.

So BloJo definitely worked after 6pm on a Friday?

I doubt he worked much any Friday.

Also - Sunak was out of the country a lot of the time. This is just arrant nonsense

Ontopofthesunset
Boris Johnson was getting paid £250 k or something to write a column in the Telegraph. Didn't see that making headlines on the Mail or BBC.

The BBC and the Mail both reported it!

probably because Johnson got defended to the hilt in the media and on here

I don't think anyone can be worse than him

Starmer is a lightweight!

I think that sets an appalling example and is typical of the British culture of presenteeism. It's also not great for family life. You'd have to be a workaholic numpty to live like that and frankly I'd rather have someone who took time out for family life and R&R in charge of the country.

BIossomtoes · 02/10/2024 22:52

To be fair he’s got a great big house with a swimming pool in one of the most beautiful parts of the country where many families choose to go on holiday. It’s not really a hardship.

L1ttledrummergirl · 03/10/2024 08:38

Not to mention Sunak took private flights at the countries expense everywhere, so no need to queue.
I suppose when you have multiple houses, in multiple countries you never have to go on holiday, it must feel like a permanent situation, it's not like he achieved anything in work.
