Unless absolutely SHEDLOADS of people who voted Conservative in 2019 vote Labour this time.

That's right, isn't it?

Also praying for Lib Dem’s to be second. Then we really could see change with a sensible opposition.

Third wish is the oblivion and destruction of the Tory party for good.

He did indeed. And then we had Cameron. 😱

Grandmasswagbag · 29/06/2024 19:52

I think labour are going to win with lib dems in opposition aren't they?

You wish.

Cos everyone loves Rishi don’t they😂

Isnt he the most unpopular prime minister ever?

Labour are going to win and win big. I can’t wait.

Edited

I'm not saying that and I want to see the back of the Tories as much as anyone, just not sure a Keir led Labour is the answer and you can't deny, he's not popular

Oi! I'm over 62 and I have no intention of dying off any time soon. Nor do I have any intention of voting Conservative (and even less intention to vote for the terminally ghastly Reform).

Just because not every 60+ year old votes tory, it doesn't change the fact that the average Conservative voter is in their 60s. And it doesn't change the life expectancy of those voters either.

Exactly this. Rishi is hardly popular either.

Tbh I think this election is about voting for the best of the worst bunch.

No Labour will win with Tories in main opposition. No-one with half a brain takes the Lib Dems seriously

I'm on board with your 3rd wish, but not if it means Reform become the new opposition. I really don't want that.

Blair was the person behind suggesting everyone have one covid jab to offer some protection rather than waiting for 2 and protecting a small percentage of the population.

Which Boris adopted.

So what Covid nonsense are you talking about?

Waitingfordoggo · 29/06/2024 19:55

It's not just voting intention changing; it's also demographic change. Conservative voters are older - average age 62 - and are starting to die off. The Labour vote is much higher in the 18 - 24 cohort that has entered the electorate since the last election.

Yes, I’m interested in this aspect too. My DD will be voting for the first time and it’s impossible to imagine her or any of her friends (also first-.time voters) voting Conservative. But I appreciate I only know a small number of 18 year-olds- I wonder if the ones I know are representative of the youth in general.

What is the answer, though? Anothev5 years of the Tories would be 😱

I am hoping Starmer will have the confidence to be more radical once he gets in. I would love the Lib Dems to be the opposition, but that is a pipe dream.

No. Labour will win with a very, very depleted Tory Opposition.

But at least we get to choose between Rishi and Sunak, rather than Biden or Trump.

That's kinda how politics works. People voted for a bunch of self serving twats, believing their lies and then five years later they put their trust in a different party, hoping that they will be better. To be fair, they couldn't be any worse.

Nellodee · 29/06/2024 19:57

Starmer or Sunak! Gah, you know what I meant!

TarantinoIsAMisogynist · 29/06/2024 19:57

I live what used to be a safe tory seat, it has never gone Labour before, ever.

The fact that the tories are even predicted to lose in my constituency means that a massive swing is being forecast.

My Dd will be 18 9 days after. All her and her friends support Labour and hate the Conservatives with real anger.

Ds is a Millennial, he and his friends feel the same.

Apparently Reform have a strong youth following - worryingly.

katebushh · 29/06/2024 19:59

Fuck me you'd think Labour are going to round women up and burn us at the stake the way you lot are going on.

Yeah. Dream on, ain't going to happen with the voting system we have. I remember the Clegg led referendum to change the first past the post system we currently have. It was blown out of the water
