You can't really trust anyone of them to do what they say but......

Out of green, Reform and Liberal who should I vote for and Why?

Deffo don't want to vote labour or conservative, so please only sell the others to me! 😜

Green.

Viscoelasticity · 29/06/2024 14:04

I prefer green of those choices. But I would vote tactically for Liberal if it means keeping out Reform.

iamtheblcksheep · 29/06/2024 14:05

I’d vote green if they weren’t so bat shit crazy.

They have admitted this week that the levy they would put on energy companies profits will ultimately not be stopped from being passed on to us so they’re out. They will bankrupt us all.

Liberals are just sound bites and no real costed ideas.

I met the reform candidate yesterday. She was canvassing here. She seemed really passionate about local issues. She’s getting my vote as a life long conservative voter. I can not bring myself to vote for my twit of an mp. I have real respect for a candidate that’s willing to stand in the high street in a wool suit and heels in boiling heat to meet the public.

Edit: Just to add. She could tell me what a woman was. Yes I did ask!

Also not that it’s any of anybodies business but I am not white before you liberals call me racist. It’s nuts I have to add that.

Sookafatwan · 29/06/2024 14:05

Reform 100% because Farage and Tice are lovely men.

Viscoelasticity · 29/06/2024 14:06

Also, I am pretty surprised you are stuck between those three!

Why don’t you read up on what their manifestos say? They’re really very different.

CelesteCunningham · 29/06/2024 14:06

Can't believe anyone is genuinely considering Reform.

Exactly.

Liberal

Manifestós don't mean much tbh.

Whoever gets/keeps the Tory out unless it’s Reform. I’d include Labour in this as getting the Tories out is the priority here (but not to replace with the even worse Reform), but I accept you don’t want to do that. So - if Lib Dems are most likely to avoid a Tory, then them. If voting for them could split the vote and let the Tory in, vote Green. There are vanishingly few constituencies where Green is the likely winner. If you are in one of them, adjust the above advice to fit. Do not let your vote contribute to a vote split that allows a Tory in.

Yes they do. For everyone except Tory or Reform they are a roadmap of what they intend to do. Tories have ignored chunks of theirs for 14 years, but that’s really not typical behaviour.

Yes but Green are never going to win an overall majority are they? So it’s not like they will ever get the chance to “bankrupt” the country. But having some Green MPs to vote in favour of environmental / sustainable agendas still makes a difference (if you care about these issues of course).

CoatRack · 29/06/2024 14:08

Definitely Reform. It's the only sensible choice.

iamtheblcksheep · 29/06/2024 14:09

Can’t believe anybody is considering labour!

Roaringlions · 29/06/2024 14:09

They are very very different

If you have no idea, I would recommend the vote for policies website. They give you the policies anonymised and ask you to choose which you agree with most. They then at the end of the quiz tell you which party this matches most closely.
It helps to remove bias based on party names and thoughts about them which I think is quite interesting and useful.

CelesteCunningham · 29/06/2024 14:09

PassingStranger · 29/06/2024 14:07

Manifestós don't mean much tbh.

But each of those three parties have fundamentally different aims. It's not likely you are equally in favour of each of them.

Viscoelasticity · 29/06/2024 14:10

Sookafatwan · 29/06/2024 14:05

😂😂😂

Moglet4 · 29/06/2024 14:10

I’m genuinely confused as to how you could put Reform in the same bracket as Lib and Green.

Shortfatsuit · 29/06/2024 14:10

Are you a racist, misogynist homophobe? If yes, vote Reform. Their values are perfectly aligned with yours.

If not, vote for the Greens or Libdems. Probably won't make much difference unless you're in a seat where one of those has a shot of winning.

What issues are important to you?

CelesteCunningham · 29/06/2024 14:11

iamtheblcksheep · 29/06/2024 14:09

Can’t believe anybody is considering labour!

Sure you can't. People voting for the other major party when one major party is coming to the end of a long cycle of governing is utterly incredible.

Yirk · 29/06/2024 14:11

After reading their manifestos, non of them!

Sookafatwan · 29/06/2024 14:11

If you believe climate change is real and Greta is the messiah, then Greens it is.

Otherwise, Reform all day long.

cardibach · 29/06/2024 14:12

iamtheblcksheep · 29/06/2024 14:09

Can’t believe anybody is considering labour!

That’s a daft comment. Labour is an established party who have been in government in the past. You may not agree with their philosophy or policies but to say you can’t believe anyone is considering them is plain silly.
On the other hand, Reform is a limited company, not a political party, their manifesto is uncosted moonshine and they are led by a bunch of liars (and many of their candidates have been openly racist).

Ketzele · 29/06/2024 14:12

Anyone but Reform, obvs!

CelesteCunningham · 29/06/2024 14:12

Sookafatwan · 29/06/2024 14:11

... You don't think climate change is real?

Maybe be careful about saying that out loud IRL...
