You can't really trust anyone of them to do what they say but......

Out of green, Reform and Liberal who should I vote for and Why?

Deffo don't want to vote labour or conservative, so please only sell the others to me! 😜

Can't believe anyone is genuinely considering Reform.

Why's that then? Do you struggle with the concept of different opinions to you generally or do you just want to let everyone know how 'concerned' you are?

You haven't answered the question. In your view, who counts as a "native" of the UK?

(I only asked about the US because you brought it into the discussion earlier. I'm guessing you've decided that you don't care about it now because you've realised that the "indigenous" people of the US are not quite who you thought they were.)

Are you saying that the ‘indigenous’ people of the USA are British people (after the first group of them went to settle there in the 17th century)? Obviously there were people living in the USA already, long before that. They’re the indigenous people. Come on. Get real.

Shortfatsuit · 29/06/2024 16:01

verdantverdure · 29/06/2024 15:57

Ok I call satire.

Which one of you is this? Grin

I should've called it at the indigenous people of America thing, but this gobbledegook is spot on.

Yeah, I wondered earlier if @Sookafatwan was just posing as a Reform voter to make a point. The trouble with far right politics these days is that it's actually quite hard to tell the difference between satire and reality. Especially in the US where Trump is more ridiculous than anything that the satirists could conjure.

Because their policies are poorly thought out and are designed to only benefit a very small group of people. That’s the opposite of what a strong and effective government is.

Sookafatwan · 29/06/2024 16:02

Shortfatsuit · 29/06/2024 15:57

Actually, I really don't know who they are. At a guess, I suppose people with exclusively Celtic ancestry? The Welsh and the Cornish, maybe? But not totally sure how anyone would go about proving that, I certainly couldn't. In any case, I have lots of Anglo Saxon kicking about in my genes, so I guess I wouldn't count.

As to how we ended up with the likes of Reform and UKIP, I think it's down to poor education personally. People who have been failed by the school system to the extent that they have never been given the tools to think critically and analyse the information that is put in front of them. I presume that, for whatever reason, it suits the establishment to perpetuate that state of ignorance amongst a certain section of the population. It's a shame.

Second parag needlessly condescending. Still bashing any right of Tory thinker as a dunce. It is these people who successfully caused Brexit, so underestimate them all you like.

Again as a PP said, lefties insult the natives and the natives dont like it. If you didnt bite at the simplest things then Trump and Farage wouldnt have the followings they have. Wokery created Trump and Farage and continues to fan their flames.

What did American lefties do to the Native American peoples to cause Trump?

Yes, it was directed at @Sookafatwan - really sorry, @Shortfatsuit ! I thought I was quoting Sook’s post but accidentally quoted you.

You asked me a question about where I thought support for Reform and UKIP had come from. I gave you an honest answer. I'm am sorry if you find it condescending, but honestly, you are kind of proving my point by your comments on this thread and others.

And yes, you're right that the right wing voters are the ones who caused Brexit. I'm not sure that it's working out too well for them, though. And that's kind of the point.

Sookafatwan · 29/06/2024 16:11

@Shortfatsuit Talk TV, GB News, the right wingers are everywhere. Call them stupid all you like but it's unfair. Are those at the leftmost side of the spectrum equally stupid in your eyes?

Its a shame the OP has disappeared. I wonder if they're any the wiser.

UrsulaBelle · 29/06/2024 16:14

Sookafatwan really isn’t doing her cause a lot of good. Mistaking some European heritage Americans for indigenous Americans, stating that ignoring them in US led to Trump, but once being educated on what indigenous means, stating they ‘don’t care about the US.’

I think I’m indigenous British, maybe? Mostly Welsh with some Cornish and Scottish thrown in. Though the Scottish part is blond and a bit Viking, tbh. 😂 Reform don’t float my boat though.

What, like Anarchists? Yeah, a bit.

TarantinoIsAMisogynist · 29/06/2024 16:20

This is one of the most insane questions I've seen asked on MN, and that's saying something. The question can't possibly be genuine tbh.

You are asking strangers to recommend who to vote for, out of 3 wildly different options. Those 3 parties have so little in common that the question doesn't make sense.

If you don't care and have no political views at all then just don't vote.

If you care even just a tiny bit, and have any political views at all, it wouldn't take you more than a moment's thought to work out whether e.g. Green or Reform are more your thing - because they are basically polar opposites!

They certainly appear to be everywhere because they're typically very vocal. But I have faith that the majority of the population will reject them.

As for the extreme left, no, I don't generally find them to be lacking in intellectual rigour but I do often find them full of hypocrisy.

Well, yeah, full on anarchists probably are a bit stupid to be fair. But I haven't ever met one so harder to comment.

iamtheblcksheep · 29/06/2024 14:23

You see. This is where your ignorance shines through. Not white here. I’ll change my name to that so you all get the picture. Maybe I’ll put a badge on my shoulder. Wait a minute. That sounds familiar. Haven’t we done that before?!

Im not homophobic. I literally couldn’t care less who you hold hands with.

I do have an issue with men in dresses being aloud to run around the women’s changing rooms and as we learnt yesterday Keir Starmer is fine with this. If this makes me transphobic fine. My daughters safety is more important than any label you want to put on me.

It's not my ignorance that is shining through.

I'm not putting any kind of label on you so I don't know what you're wittering on about. Unless you're the candidate standing in full sun in a wool suit (did you read the label?) and heels.

PatheticDistraction · 29/06/2024 16:28

What are your values? What issues are important to you?

I'm voting Lib Dem because they put care at the tope of their agenda, and it's between them and the Tories here - so it's partly tactical. We also hVe a really good Lib Dem MP locally with a proven track record, and he's really responsive.

I find this apathy towards manifestos & 'all as bad as each other' attitude a bit disappointing - we all need to take responsibility, educate ourselves & vote accordingly.

@Sookafatwan why do you want to vote Reform? Which policies appeal to you?

BoneChinaPlate · 29/06/2024 16:35

CoatRack · 29/06/2024 14:47

There's definitely ample proof....but you're not gonna provide it.

Imagine my shock.

This is why calling stuff racist etc just doesn't work anymore. You've overused it to the point that it has lost all meaning.

Three more of their candidates just got dropped for making racist comments- one about Africans having a low IQ, one saying black people were 'lazy' and 'savage'. Another candidate was dropped earlier this week when it was revealed he had connections to the BNP. Reform candidates are exposed as racists at a much higher rate than candidates for ant other party. So it seems fair that people are wondering what draws such a high proportion of racists to Reform rather than any other party.

She probably struggles with overt racism rather than different opinions.

I see Farage has refused an invitation to go on Laura Kuenssberg tomorrow. His excuse is that the QT audience were dishonest.

He's frit.

Reform UK Ltd has reported Channel 4 to the electoral commission. Hopefully we'll get the truth about the Parker chap.
