Just that really.

Which party do you think needs to get enough seats be in opposition and hold a Labour government to account?

Why do you want a chaotic, shambles of a party with no regard for women, the UK, it's laws and democracy to be the Opposition? They are totally dysfunctional, an utter failure, devoid of talent and morals, how do you expect them to hold anyone to account?

Who else is going to hold Starmer to account over the gender lunacy?

One might ask what the relevance of the 1997-2010 government is to your belief that a completely different group of people will deliver functional public services.

Because it’s not about the party, it’s about the ethos.

TooBigForMyBoots · 28/06/2024 21:56

The Tories won't. This was their baby and they're still riddled with TRAs, one of which may become the next Tory leader!😱

No, the Tories need some time to sort themselves out before we can allow them to play any serious role in politics again.

TooBigForMyBoots · 28/06/2024 22:01

They then got wiped out at the next election...

Yup, you Libdem voters are ruthless @MissScarletInTheBallroom.Grin

No, it's mostly about money and competence. Both of which are currently in short supply.

I know they won't get enough seats but honestly Farage would be best to hold Starmer to account.

Really? When he was an MEP he mostly didn't bother to turn up.

He wasn't in it for the people who voted for him then, and he won't be in it for the people of Clacton now.

My decision is about what I think is important not your opinion.

Why would the people of Clacton change the habit of a lifetime and elect him anyway?

I never said otherwise. It's the people not voting to get the Tories out whose decisions are not being respected.

verdantverdure · 28/06/2024 22:11

I assume the people who fund Farage did some research and Clacton came up as the most gullible constituency in the country.

You are really out of touch about the state of UK politics aren't you?😬🫣

Nigel Farage has stood for election to parliament seven times and lost seven times, including when pro Brexit sentiment was running high and he was at the height of his popularity. UKIP did really well in the 2014 European Parliament elections and the Brexit Party got a third of the vote share and beat all the other parties in the 2019 European Parliament elections, and yet Farage couldn't even get one seat in parliament in the UK. The first past the post system is designed to keep people like him out and - for all its faults - it is very good at that.

TooBigForMyBoots · 28/06/2024 22:26

As much as I'd love to see him get an 8th defeat, Farage is on course to get nearly half the votes in Clacton. That's how much people want rid of the Tories. They'll even vote for Nigel!🙈

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 28/06/2024 22:29

I guess we will find out in a week, won't we?

What a time to be alive.

Farage, the Tories or the womanly penises.

I vote for the asteroid.

TooBigForMyBoots · 28/06/2024 22:30

Fortunately you don't have to. You don't live in the UK anymore.

Bet you're glad you're out.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 28/06/2024 22:33

Well I don't think anywhere is particularly well run at the moment tbh but yeah, it's all relative.

Sometimes I think it would be better to abolish democracy and have people selected at random to run the country for five years, like jury service.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 28/06/2024 20:13

I'd also give her a lesson on how the 2020's GC transphobic cult members use the same language that the homophobes used in the past against the normalisation if gay people

Something something toilets, something something coming for your children, something something perverts

It's funny you know because I don't remember lesbian and gay people pretending that they had changed sex, demanding access to opposite sex spaces or changing our language to try to erase women.

ActivePeony · 28/06/2024 22:49

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 28/06/2024 20:41

So what's your answer then?

Vote for the people who are being completely open about how much contempt they have for women instead?

That seems to be the plan for these deluded people. The trouble is - we will ALL pay.

This could be any of the parties tbh.

Agreed

TizerorFizz · 28/06/2024 22:59

@verdantverdure It’s utterly ridiculous to demonise all Conservatives. Like most people, you only listen to the noisy right, and the Conservatives have too many of these. They are difficult and disloyal. A similar force to Militant and Momentum. Not acceptable to the majority.

I of would like to see decent Conservatives hold on to their seats and form a coherent right of centre opposition. It’s the best way forward. I expect the right will hang on to seats which means more in fighting. However the majority of Conservatives are decent MPs and hard working. Some are not and undoubtedly Lsbour will have their bumps in the road too. Jared O’Mara and Fiona Onasanya and Eric Illsley spring to mind as not being squeaky clean.

Which post of mine are you responding to with this?

And please furnish us with a list of this majority of decent Conservatives of which you speak.
