Labour Party and gender

Mobley52 · 25/06/2024 20:34

I've seen quite a few threads where people have said they would not vote for Labour because of their stance on gender.

Would somebody be able to explain in simple terms why this is please

Many thanks

That's a slur, given the 'vocal minority' referred to accepting Neo Nazis at rallies.

🙄 it's an opinion backed by evidence

I'm finding your posts to me goady and would appreciate it if you stopped.

no-one going to talk about this?

Why? She's a private individual with her own views. She's neither an employer nor a landlord.

Meanwhile there's a prominent trans activist on Twitter who claims to work for the NHS in a recruitment capacity and admits to binning the CVs of anyone who doesn't seem like a true believer.

She's the leader of a political party; as such her views will attract scrutiny. Much like Farage, or Starmer.

A true believer in what? Can you let me know their handle cos that's revolting.

No she isn't but she is a prominent voice. That comment from her is hate, not protecting women. So all the people who say they don't want TW to suffer and want them to live their own lives outside of single sex spaces should be disagreeing with her? Yet i didn't see any comments like that. More of the same.

We can't keep going on with this level of divisive bollocks. Women having access to single sex spaces are not transphobic but there are prominent members of that camp who are and do incite hatred. Just like the TRA who send rape and death threats are disgusting scum of the earth. That's also hatred, two sides of the same shitty coin.

but then change trans in this instance to any other group and people would be up in arms. So yes she can have her views, but that doesn't mean people can't be called out on them.

Farage has always attracted far too much attention given the fact that he's failed to get elected seven times now.

The views of the person who is actually in a position of power and actually discriminating against people with gender critical beliefs in the UK's biggest employer (funded by our taxes) are far more concerning than those of Kellie-Jay Keen.

Alwaystired94 · 01/07/2024 11:18

but again, i said X not here.

I never said all people who hold 'GC' views are like that, i'm stating that both sides of this have vocal and disgusting people in it. We should all be calling those people out, thats my point.

"There have been many GC debates on here which have been in good faith from both sides, and I've not ever thought of those posters as transphobic. But there are a vocal minority who genuinely despise trans people and do just hate them. These vocal minorities happily accept neo nazi males at their rallies because they agree with their stance."

There are a vocal minority ON HERE who HAPPILY accept neo nazi males?

I'm of the opinion of anyone inciting hatred in any regard is a concern. Especially when they do have a large platform.

the neo nazis part isn't in relation to MN - I've only seen that on X and reddit I was talking about those i've spoken with who hold 'GC views'.

I'd fully expect any MN on here who expressed support for neo-nazis would be rightfully banned. But other areas of the internet are not well moderated

She's saying that she would discriminate against trans people if she were an employer or a landlord, which she isn't.

Meanwhile someone who claims to work in recruitment for the NHS is actually discriminating against applicants who are gender critical, or perceived to be gender critical.

Clearly the latter is more concerning on every level.

When you can't play the ball, foul the player.

Labour is not yet in charge of the NHS so this apparent NHS worker is nothing to do with them. Assuming that's who you meant when you were saying "the views of the person who is actually in a position of power and actually discriminating against people with gender critical beliefs in the UK's biggest employer (funded by our taxes) are far more concerning than those of Kellie-Jay Keen."

So you agree she is claiming discriminating against Trans people. And calls on others to do the same. THAT IS HATE.

Both are concerning, you just care more about the part that could potentially affect you.

Because trans people have the support and protection of the entire political establishment, and powerful lobby groups advocating for them, whereas women - particularly gender critical women - ARE ACTUALLY OPPRESSED AND DISCRIMINATED AGAINST, with the full support of the political left. That's why.

I am saving my tears for the people who actually need them.

What, you think Kemi Badenoch, Rishi Sunak and Nigel Farage are supporting and protecting trans people?

Gently, I suggest you get out of your twitter bubble and into the real world.

But yet that again doesn't help unless the employer/landlord says "this is because you are trans" Much the same as if it was a Woman.

All forms of hatred are revolting and yes calling for discrimination with a large platform is degusting and should be called out. But whereas i actually do call out people for it, you aren't interested in that clearly.

I only hear you calling out people like Kellie-Jay Keen for it.

I have seen zero outrage from you about all the myriad ways in which gender critical women are discriminated against, abused, assaulted and so on, despite claiming to be gender critical yourself.

Kellie-Jay Keen has been assaulted by trans activists. A woman in her company was violently assaulted and hospitalised. The violent trans activists were then praised by the prime minister of the country in which the assaults took place. Kellie-Jay Keen had to leave the country due to fears for her own safety and the woman who was hospitalised was denied any kind of justice.

I have no doubt that this, and other similar incidents, has influenced Kellie-Jay Keen's views about whether she would want to employ or let a property to anyone from the "rainbow community" (as Chris Hipkins put it).

Nigel Farage is nothing but a rabble rouser, not "the political establishment", and Kemi Badenoch and Rishi Sunak are both members of a government under which trans activism has been allowed to run rampant until very recently. So yes.
