The Party of Women

If you have a representative of "The Party of Women" standing in your constituency, give them a wide birth.
I had the misfortune to encounter a representative at the local hustings this afternoon. I'm about to put in a complaint to the police - several were present, but did nothing to intervene and stop the transphobic hate speech.
I's outrageous that they should be allowed to call themselves "The Party of Women" (presumably hoping to pick up votes by misleading people unto thinking they're The Women's Equality Party") they certainly don't speak for me.

This is the first thing in ages that I've seen as a potential red flag against PR.

In fact if the Labour candidate in my constituency gets in I will be writing to him to tell him exactly what I think about it. But I still would rather that than the completely incompetent Tories.

Underthinker · 25/06/2024 14:59

@CassieMaddox Do you mean the Bridget Phillipson interview? I thought that was roughly your stance anyway. No offence intended there but I thought you thought the Labour frontbench had it about right.

CassieMaddox · 25/06/2024 15:06

No not really. I genuinely believed the single sex spaces for biological women line. If she's only talking about public toilets I'm kind of on board because I don't think its possible or practical to police those. But if she's talking about changing rooms, prisons, sports etc I'll be furious.

Think it's more effective to fight from within though especially as my constituency has been very safe Tory but looks like it will turn red, so the party will want to keep my vote.

The Women's Equality Party actually don't like women

The Party of Women are a completely different party from The Women's Equality Party.
Party of Women know what a woman is.
They want to keep all males, regardless of whether they accept they're male or not out of female-only spaces and sports because they're male.
They also want to protect same-sex care.

Summerishot I don't know why you quoted me. I know what POW are and that WEP say TWAW

I just watched the live stream of the Bristol hustings and thought KJK did very well.
I like how she used her closing statement to call out all the political parties for not supporting their GC women MPs and members.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/07/2024 21:55

Yes me too @cariadlet

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/07/2024 21:57

Regardless, noone in the political eye has referred to GC women in the way KJK referred to trans women.

Mhairi Black called us "Jeremy Hunts", including a woman who explained perfectly reasonably why she felt vulnerable.

What’s their opinion on leaving the ECHR ? Or sending people to a Rwanda ? Or how to boost growth ?

cariadlet · 01/07/2024 22:15

They don't need policies on those issues.
They aren't expecting to get any MPs, let alone get into government.

They clearly state that they are a single issue Party, raising awareness of the erosion of women's rights and the pernicious influence of gender ideology on children.

The Party of Women are a single issue party. Their aim is to raise awareness of how women's rights, language, and opportunities are being erased.
Forcing females to share spaces with males, especially females who have been victims of rape/sexual assault being forced to share female-only rape shelters or hospital wards with males just because they identify as women is psychological torture and breaches Article 3 of the ECHR. As is forcing females to undress in front of males by making them share changing rooms. See the nurses taking their trust to court for letting a male stare at them whilst they changed.
Women who stand up for women's rights, facts, and reality are often deprived of their rights under Articles 9, 10, and 11 - LWS has to be held in public because TRAs bullied venues into rejecting KJK and TRAs try to drown out women speaking about issues that affect them, harass and attack them, see Brighton LWS for a prime example.
The ECHR is implemented in UK law as The Human Rights Act 1998.

Franzkafkascat · 01/07/2024 23:57

No one is forcing this on anyone apart from the Tories.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/07/2024 01:44

All these laws which allow males to be counted as "women" were passed by Labour. Yes, the Tories should have acted on them, but didn't.

KJK is advocating wholesale discrimination on the basis of who a person is, that is, their trans status.

In her worldview the trans person does not even have to open their mouth, express any views, say anything in particular at all, or act in any way at all.

She has not nuanced or qualified her commentary on this, it is simply their status as trans people that is sufficient for her to be advocating wholesale discrimination against them, and that is pure and simple prejudice.

I'll say it. I discriminate against liars. Anybody who claims to have changed sex is a liar. So is everybody who states that some women have penises, unless they're severely mentally disabled.

If they're severely mentally disabled, I'm unlikely to discriminate against them in the social sense, but I would query their ability to perform most jobs adequately or to rent a home on their own initiative. I bet most such people actually do understand biological sex, anyway.

The vast majority of female-penis proponents, however, are lying. Everyone saying it's fair for males to compete with females in sport is a liar, too. Those who press for children to be rendered infertile and/or have healthy organs removed are worse than liars.

I'll happily discriminate against them.

For avoidance of doubt, I'm a gender ABOLITIONIST. This means I've got no problem with people wearing whatever makes them happy, within the bounds of public decency and health/safety. By extension, it also means I see no problem with being homosexual. The idea of a 'gender identity' is nonsensical, antisocial and dishonest. I'd discriminate against it without blinking.
