I'm no fan of this man but this is just not cricket!!

A many appears to throwing rock like stuff from a bin at Farage

Thankfully the rocks missed him and I hope everyone else is safe on that bus

IMO, Farage should now get police protection

The replies under the tweet are priceless, particularly this one:

"Bring back National Service so people can learn how to hit the target when they throw stuff at Farage.".

Zero sympathy for him: xenophobic, divisive, racist fascists belong in jail

Not funny. Do you want this country to descend into anarchy and lawlessness?? It’s just totally unacceptable to post this. Many people despise the left should Starmer run in fear for his life?

This is totally unacceptable in a civilised society, the jail term should be twenty years plus. Immediate custody. Democracy is under threat, and yes clearly Farage needs police protection against the mindless yobos.

Where is he as seems to have quite a bit of support? Are people forgetting the damage Brexit has done!

Brumhilda · 11/06/2024 17:27

Good. I like him and everyone is petrified.

They'll do anything to stop him because they’re scared and it stinks.

He’s as entitled to stand for election as anyone else whether you like him or not.

I wonder what the Venn diagram of people who think violence against Farage is terrible while also not giving two hoots about the government funding an actual genocide looks like.

I would assume there was a fairly large overlap between people who think violence against a politician is unacceptable and people who think the genocide in Palestine, amoungst other countries, is unacceptable

Certainly in my case I am against violence in both issues and many others

Meetingofminds · 11/06/2024 17:28

Union sponsored - such a good advert to vote for Labour 😬

For those who agree with political violence against your enemies, do you think it is also justifiable to attack reform voters as well?

No.
They need psychiatric intervention.

We didn’t get BREXIT, and everyone knows it.

Thats why they’re furious with the tories and Reform is going to scare the living crap out of the establishment for the next 4 years in opposition.

They need a long spell in custody

Sorry? What- who is petrified of him?

The elite establishment-

Meetingofminds · 11/06/2024 17:31

Which is a cross section of MPs from all parties and influential people whom will never get over the rise and success of Brexit, and fear what is coming next I imagine.

The ‘Establishment’, have you see some of the members they are the Establishment.

Exactly, not inspiring or remotely relevant just mediocre clingers trying to preserve the status quo.

SiriAlexa · 11/06/2024 17:33

Throwing rocks at anyone, and in this case to suppress Farage’s right to campaign in a free democracy, is abhorrent. The posts on this thread minimising it are shameful. The far left cannot handle dissent and resort to violence, we know that from history. The far right is just as bad.

Of course, throwing rocks at Farage will also increase support for Farage as the underdog portrayal helps him.

I agree but ironically, merely for disagreeing with them they will call you a fascist..

Sometimes I think only central-ground people have any sense of proportion whatsoever

Begsthequestion · 11/06/2024 17:37

This thread is hilarious 😂

AmpleFatball · 11/06/2024 17:39

I loathe Farage and think he has caused massive suffering to millions of people in the UK…but its a hard no on political violence for me and the thrower should be punished appropriately.

Justifying this based on Farage’s politics is real slippery slope stuff.

What central ground? We now live in a dystopian hellscape of extremes with the left leading the way with their trademark iconic moral claim to never interact with a known Tory under any circumstances, should a conversation develop about viewpoints. They combust within a 20 mile radius of anyone considering reform. This is not the land of civilised debate and decency at the moment.

Very well put Sad

Tracker1234 · 11/06/2024 17:44

Meetingofminds is 100% correct. I would love to see a cross party group reviewing the NHS rather than throwing more and more money at it and allowing a sensible debate on reform. Other coutries have some well run systems.

it will never happen.

ObliviousCoalmine · 11/06/2024 17:46

@MrsBennetsPoorNerves I know. That's the point.

Whenever a right winger calls something "sensible" it usually means the opposite.
